It was posted by MerD… here it is again. And yes, check if the facility will allow you to keep one. Several of the places I checked into for my Dad allowed residents to keep an animal. One facility had 3 ‘house’ cats and 2 dogs. So, please, do check. I, too, am too far away to help.
