I went out to put a final serving of crunchies out for the cafe crew this evening. Saw him laying by the house. Hoped he might be sleeping but knew he wasn’t.
A cruel twist of irony: I just got back from taking a pet CPR/First Aid certification class. I applied all I learned just hours ago but it was too late. He was still warm.
I don’t know what happened. No sign of obvious injury or poisoning. He ate this morning, though he wasn’t as assertive as usual getting into the bowls of crunchies that they share after their wet food meal.
Squeeker was about 4 years old, the same shade of grey as Shaddo, with wide, clear eyes. We called him Shaddo Wannabe.
I don’t know if I will see him again. He might cross the Bridge when he sees Roberta, my elderly cat lady neighbor, when it is her time. I think that would be right.
I’ll miss my little dinner bell loudspeaker.
Run and play at the Meadow, Squeeker.

No one knows why or when our outdoor charges will cross the Rainbow Bridge. Squeeker had the best meowmy and purrfect neighbor. He is watching for his meowmy but when you hear his distinctive dinner bell you know he’s watching you too.

I never get used to this – 😥

Awww Joan, I’m so sorry. Like PG said, I’ll never get used to it either. I am devastated over every cat I have loved and lost. My outside babies are just as precious to me as my inside furkits. Play in the Meadow Squeekers, run free. You will be missed.

Oh what a beautiful boy Squeekers is. He reminds me of my Katherine. 🙁 Maybe they have found each other, and what a beautiful pair they would be.

It’s so sad to lose a friend, whether he or she lived with you or just dropped in to say Hello (and Thank You) now and again.

I have so many furry friends in that Meadow now . . . They are never forgotten, and you will remember the good times.

For now, just hold tight to the memories, and be glad that whatever caused his leaving, he is no longer in pain or distress.

Goodnight, Squeeker – you’ll have a lovely time getting to know all your new friends in the sunshine!

    Hugs.

So sorry that Squeaker has gone to the Meadow JJ. He will be waiting for Roberta when they will both remember each other.
    RIP beautiful boy.

I’m so sorry Squeeker has died. I always treasured feral cats I fed as well.

Really sorry to hear about Squeeker, always painful to lose a baby. Give the others an extra squeeze.
