South Carolina prisoner sues Martha Stewart for $3.5 million

BRIDGEPORT, CT (AP) – A South Carolina prisoner known for suing celebrities has targeted Martha Stewart.
Jonathan Lee Riches says Stewart violated his civil rights in a real estate deal.
The 30-year-old man is in federal prison in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, for his involvement in an identity-theft ring.
Riches filed the two-page, handwritten lawsuit against Stewart, seeking $3.5 million in damages from Stewart for what he calls “emotional, mental, psychological distress.” He says he will donate any damages he collects to television cook Rachael Ray.
Stewart’s spokeswoman did not immediately return a phone call Wednesday.
Riches has unsuccessfully sued President Bush, Tiger Woods, Barry Bonds and Michael Vick in federal court on a variety of claims.
