I was working at the local farmers market this morning and a lady come up to our booth and asked if I was nuts about Siamese (out of the blue). I said I was and she offered to give me her kitten. Seems she was allergic to her. The kitten is puny, I guess and a lilac. She is also a weggie. I said I would consider it, but that Cato had been an only boy for six years and he might be offended if I brought in an interloper. Of course, lately Cato is out almost 24/7 so he is only around for breakfast and dinner (do not ask what he is doing outside). It’s a big let down to have him gone so much. I feel guilty for even considering another cat. Any advice on this, you guys? Elizabeth 🙂

Cato might love a follower. Since she’s a kitten and opposite sex he would be most likely to accept her out of any other cat. He might actually like having someone to boss around. And well, she needs a home. You must have been broadcasting your cat expert status. I’ve had people do that to me too. Mostly just cats come up to me though.LOL

You must have looked like a cat lover. The poor baby needs a home; take her. Cato might just fall in love. If he’s fixed (and I sure hope he is if he goes outside), he could be like my Cheetah Boy. When we bring a new kitten in, Cheetah just takes over. Bathes them, gets anxious if they cry, sleeps all curled up around them. He just never figured out he’s not the mommy.

Give Cato a chance, it might be just what he needs to make him stay at home more.

And, if it absolutely doesn’t work out, the kitten has a much better chance of finding a forever home through TDK then she does if her current owner gives up and relinquishes her to a shelter.

It’s a face shape. Wedged (like a triangle) or apple (round). Many breeds describe the two main head shapes this way. Abys, Siamese, Orientals and the like.

Most people really like one shape and are less excited about the opposite.

Interesting. My first cat was an apple and so is Sylvester but Mia is more of a wedgie. Definitely take her and if it doesn’t work out, you will be able to help find her a new home throught TDK.

Misty is my first wedgie. I love apple heads. But Misty was a rescue from a bad, bad breeder, and so that’s how I got my first wedgie. And she’s so cute from the side…she looks like she’s always smiling, because their mouths turn up and follow the curve of their heads.

I think you should give the kitten a try, who knows…Cato might even like the Kit. ^^’

Cheetaboysmo, he is fixed. I wouldn’t have it any other way. And, Cato is around the house, he is just hypervigilant about protecting his property. It drives me nuts. And no, he doesn’t fight, if he can help it, he’s like a sentry. I am still thinking about this kitty, but I have not resolved what to do. I love Cato so much, I worry about changing the relationship at all. I have never even allowed another cat into the house (there were other cats at the farm where he grew up). I always kept them outside. Elizabeth

Elizabeth, you just might be surprised by Cato. He might really like having a fursis to keep him company…. And, if it doesn’t work out, the kitty has a much better chance of finding a new furrever home with your help.

It sounds like you need an inside kitty to be your lap cat. I have always found the Meezers to love laps. I think you need to have her!

I may have found a solution to the dilemma. A friend of mine walked into work today and I told her about this kitty. She is kittyless and is very interested. I am trying to get the two together 🙂 Elizabeth

That’s great Elizabeth…If it doesn’t work out with her..you can always consider taking the kitten later on. Cato may in fact want someone as a running mate in office. LOL! I know what you mean about wishing he’d stick around more. Our Shady is the exact same way. I was sure by having him neutered that he’d stick around and get fat and lazy. Right!!!! He’s never here except he sleeps in on the back of the couch…grabs a bite in the morning…disappears til dinner and then is back out til bedtime. When he is around he’s extremely passionate and cuddly…like he’s filling up on love to go running around. He really acts so typically meezer…He too is a sentry in search of ……….. ?
