    My fiance and I just got a new kitten and she smells awful. She was a shelter cat and I noticed the smell on our way home with her. When we got her home we noticed her fur smelled like she had been sleeping in a litter box (she probably had) and figured it would fade. It hasn’t! I just gave her a bath out of desperation (she is currently giving me the look of death from the couch) and now she smells worse, the whole house smells. Any suggestions?

    When I got my kittens they also smelled AWFUL. I gave them one mini bath and got most of the gook off and within a day or so Gus kind of took it from there and he has been a great-smelling clean kitten ever since. He did smell horrible though when he was brought home. They were about 6 weeks at the time and the other kitten was a little slower at grooming himself than the other. It took another bath and some help grooming from his brother but he has caught up.

    I read that you shouldn’t give them too many baths too often and you should make sure they are dry and warm after. How old is your kitten? How many days have you had her?
