hey its Randall again so I have a question Zoey has a sister named Snow and my friend brought her over tonight to see Zoey and to play with her and they just went to town beating up on each other is that common for them to do that it was getting rough at times any advice please?

Hi Randall – playfighting is pretty common and often looks worse than it is. Supervise them when they are together and you may have to break it up if it looks like one is really doing all the fighting – it is usually fairly equal with one being a bit more dominant. Also break it up if you see blood, of course. If you have to break them up do so as gently and calmly as possible using well padded/protected hands/arms.

Another thing Randall, even though they are sisters they may not recognize each other as such. They smell different to each other than when they were together before (I don’t know how long it’s been they have been apart). Cats are VERY territorial and will let the other one know that this is HER house. They may have to establish new guide lines for getting along and a new relationship with each other if you continue to bring them together for playtime.
