Milton Hershey was born on this day in 1857 in a farmhouse near the Central Pennsylvania village of Derry Church. He built his fortune as a chocolate maker, and later created the first planned community … named Hershey, in Pennsylvania.

I agree….anyone who created chocolate should be celebrated! I have been to Hershey, Pennsylvania once…it is the closest to chocolate heaven a person can get. I actually bought one of the big Hershey bars…a 10 pounder, I think. LOL

My folks just got back from PA (Hershey no less) and didn’t even bring me any chocolate.

Its Roshashana. Happy new year to those in our family who are Jewish out there!

And Yes, a day sacred for chocolate is always welcome!
