…and still is. Her name is Solange, she just got spayed at the Humane Society clinic, and I have to pick her up before 8 AM tomorrow. She is 4 months old, and she acts just like Penny did at that age. I adopted her from the municipal pound. I have that dog crate I bought for Bryson all set up as a surgery recovery zone. They told me that she was just starting into heat. (The municipal pound had told me she was too young to have kittens, but I knew better.) I’m glad we got to that before it went any further. Because she’s still a kitten, I can submit her picture! I’ll have to find someone from whom I can borrow a decent camera.
Brother Louie is at the main Humane Society building, not at the pet shop adoption center. I’ll keep checking and, if he’s still available at the beginning of August (when I get my first paycheck with a 5% raise and Solange has had a chance to settle in with Penny), I’m going to adopt him then. If that happens, I’ll have to make up some new words to an old song:
“She was black as the night; Louie was orange and bright…”
