Elene…I’m sharing those tears with you. You won’t believe this. I brought the newbies into the house in 2 carriers. Bruiser is so much bigger than his siblings,I had to use a seperate carrier for him. Being in a rush to get them sttled in the last cage I had available(it’s almost too small for them already with all 4 in there). Thinking I needed to put the cage somewhere quiet & without the chaos of other kitties & noises. Well. I tossed the cage in the computer room not even thinking it has to be turned sideways to go in because of the size. I figured if they were going to end up at the Humane Society(if they would even take them)I’d just take them in the original cage they’re now in. Oops. Only problem…how to get the cage out of the room without turning said cage sideways. I’m now questioning whether this has been a successful or unsuccessful day. I think I actually need a beer to figure that one out.lol

NNM…Thank you. I wish all of you lived closer & could take a kit or 2. lol

Elene…I forgot to mention that I was handling them outside quite easily. The tortie & the black one were alittle more skittish but i was still able to pick them up. The thing is they’re in a whole new territory now & have quite the ‘Cattitude’ right now. I’m hoping that will pass & I’ll be able to handle them again.

Go ahead..have a beer sis..you’ve earned it..It will work out..one way or another. can you butt one open cage up to the other and then open it’s door then wait for a couple of them to enter…then close it off? I see how this could be tough..but not impossible..It’s amazing that you got hold of all their little butts..Next…The Mom!!! Argh!!! One step at a time.

Karen…that’s how I got them into the cage from the carriers. I doubt they would casually walk back into the carriers from the cage. That’s why I’mhoping they’ll frienly up some. I have the cage all covered up behind me & they aren’t making a sound. I haven’t spotted the meezer out back yet either. I hope she didn’t run off because of it. I was really careful not to cause any kind of ruckus out there. So the only problem might be that she starts combing the neighborhood looking for her babies.

Susie- They are just scared because of new surroundings. After a few days of soft talking and sitting by the cage they will come round. Thank goodness they aren’t completely feral like the two tortie calico sisters I have in my back bedroom that I caught just before Xmas at approx 6 months of age.

I have to smile at the cage being too large to come out the door unless sideways. I can’t tell you how many little errors like that I’ve made in the emotional, brain-shut-down, aftermath of capture. I think I’ve thought it through, and later find out I hadn’t been very smart after all.

Do have your beer and try to relax, and enjoy knowing that no matter what happens next you have all 4 kittens out of harms way.

Wow, you got them! I think if you give them a couple of days they will calm down. When we first brought our two feral sisters home from the vet, I was surprised that they acted like they never even smelled us–after all the time we spendt with them at the back door. They disappeared into the basement and only came out when we were not there for a few days after. I am sure they were scared witless. After a few days they came out and resumed making friends. They were about 20 weeks old at the time according to the vet.

    Hoorah for you Susie!

You really have your hands full.

I so admire you and Elene, and all the rest of you rescuers. You do the job of saints.

Good luck and positive energy to you and the kitties.

Thanks all of you…I’ve put tidbits of turkey into the cage & it’s gone when I come back to check on them. Other than that they are definately staying to the back of the cage. And if looks could kill,I’d have been dead 10 times over. lol. I feel bad for them because that’s where they’ll have to stay until (I Pray to God they’ll take them) I can call The Delta Humane Society in Stockton to see if they do me the honor of taking them. Right now they’re all 4 in the cage that was loaned to me by the woman who so politely screwed me over by not taking them when she promised she would. But it’s big enuf that I’m able to put their food & water with a litterbox & bed. The opening in the cage is not real big,so I was limited to the size of litterbox that would fit thru the opening. That will be stressful for them as often as I’m going to have to clean it. The little tortie(Zoomie) is growling as well as hissing. The little ones always do. lol. And Bobbi…your right with the hands full. What have I got myself into this time? *shaking head in disbelief*

Hey Sis..I’m proud that you’re seeing to all their needs and even though they don’t know how good they got it..we sure do. I’m hoping one night of being inside out of the cold with food and water so conveniently provided along with a box..will begin to settle them down. I pray Delta will be able to help you by taking the lucky little kits. Now, thanks to you they just may have a chance at a real life. God Bless you Susie..like I said..I’m so proud. Take care of my little sister for me, eh?

Susie..how are the new additions this morning? Did they settle in overnight or are they still hissing? It is so special what you do for all the homeless kitties, you will receive your reward someday for caring for Gods little creatures..

2b…They’re doing much better. Thanks for asking. The cage was of course a disaster from them trying to dig out. The tortie, Zoom,is still hissing, but, not as bad. Miss Friendly just let me hold her outside the cage,so,she’ll be easy. She was the first to approach me on the outside so it doesn’t surprise me. Big Bruiser,as I sit here typing this,is howling like a sick dog & watching me,so he’ll probably be the next one I give a shot at. I repeat what I said yesterday. What have I got myself into this time. *shaking head in disbelief*

Hang in there Susie, this too shall pass. Just keep in mind that this may be the last batch of kittens you have to deal with. If you get those last two ferals to the spa you may never have to deal with this again.

Try your best to put a smile on your face, surprising that a forced smile, held for a few minutes, actually makes you feel better. I know you have just increased your work load inside, but consider the worry you have eliminated by rescuing the 4 newbies.

I am sending you a big {{{{HUG}}}} to help you get through this day. Try to concentrate on the cuteness.
