Good morning!
What a wild, winter weekend this has been. Saturday night the ice storm started here, but let me backtrack a little. Three weeks ago, one of the tenants upstairs came to me and asked me if my Amy was present and accounted for as he thought he saw her outside on the porch. Was she out? No, she was safe and warm sleeping in her favorite box. Last week I was coming home from work and lo and behold, I saw the cat. Sure enough, he was the spitting image of my Amy! When I approached him, he took off. Again I went in the house and made sure the cat was NOT my Amy. Nope, she was sitting on a shelf, talking to me in her soft little voice. Flash forward to Saturday night and guess who came back? My son found him on the porch and he was able to pick him up and hold him. He called me out and I got to hold him. He is just a little bigger than my Amy, same wonderful coat but he has the biggest eyes! He is sweet and gentle but he his underweight (can’t weight more than 5lbs.) He was cold and scared. I went in to get him something to eat and the man friend from upstairs suggested that we bring him in and put him downstairs in the basement so he wouldn’t freeze to death in the cold, wet, windy storm. I wasn’t going to bring him in as I already have 7 fur babies and the man friend is always complaining about that fact (shock for me, let me tell you). I was just going to give him food, water and some blankets. Anywho, we brought him in and he ate and ate and ate some more. Then he began the cuddling and “shadowing”. He obviously doesn’t like to be alone and wants to be as close to people as he can get (he just needs to learn to say out from under your feet). Yesterday morning, I got up to do some laundry and went down to visit him. He was so very happy to see someone. In any event, I talked man friend into taking him in on a fostering basis at least, until I can find him a suitable home.
Can anyone help in this area? He seems to be approx. 1-2 years old and is very sweet. He is healthy, litter trained and I believe he would make a wonderful companion. All he wants is to be loved. I would keep him in a heartbeat but I do think he would upset the balance in my house. He will be vet checked this week as he probably needs his shots and he needs ear mite treatment. He also needs to be nuetered. If anyone can help in this area to assist in finding him a good home, please let me know. Thanks for anything you can do.
