I have been feeding the kits the science diet adult, and the litter boxes all have an high ammonia smell. I know at one point on the old forum we discussed this. SO my question is this, what do you feed your kits and not get that smell.

Nutro’s Hairball at the moment. I also use Ever Clean in my litter box and I recommend it for its smell quenching.

Iams hairball, and Scoop Away in the litter box. Cannot tell I have a cat until you see her or the litter box. No smell

I use mostly Iams Multi-Cat/Hairball mixed 1/2 & 1/2. Tidy Cat (with tidy lock). No smell or dust, and with my horde that is very important. Also make sure the litter is deep enough that liquid doesn’t get to pan bottom.

I have a box with the scoop away, A&H, and 3 boxes with johnny cat. Every thing was fine untill I changed food to sceince diet. Didn’t think of mixing dry foods together. hmmmm.

I use Science Diet Indoor Lite for Sylvester and Fresh Step scoopable litter for both kitties. I don’t have any smell issue unless the container if full, then I smell cat poop and know it it is time to clean the box.

My two eat the Science Diet Adult and I usually don’t smell anything as long as I use a good kitty litter. Once, by mistake, I bought the Science Diet for indoor cars. I couldn’t believe what it did to them, poor babies! They had so much extra elimination because of the change that I thought they were sick!

When I went back to the S.D. Adult, they were just fine.

feed mine Iams Adult Hairball, Pro Plan (their favorite), and Purina Indoor with using Tidy Cats w/tidy lock and just now trying Ever Clean. None of them will touch the Science Diet anything, they have let it sit there for days and wouldn’t eat. Can’t tell they are here unless you see them, or sit in ‘their’ chair before their blanket has been washed.

Davidson the hermaphrodite is now in a new home! mixed feelings. I told him I will be expecting a call tomorrow to come get Mojo, his brother. Mojo was the one who came up to him, gave sandpaper kisses and played with him. Poor Davidson is gonna be SO LONLEY. He has a friend who is thinking of getting a kitten too. *fingers crossed*
