    From Steve McQueen to Bridget Bardow sunglasses have always been a fashion accessory. This day is more popular because organizations like the Vision Council try to inform people on the dangers of UV exposure and the need to protect your eyes. The history of sunglasses stretches to 14th century China when judges wore them made of smoke-cultured quartz to mask their emotions.

    Good morning – it’s a cloudy day here so I’ll hang out on the TDK patio with my shades on. Think I’ll have a glass of pineapple juice and some cheesy hash browns.

    You know, I think I’ll wear shades anyway today even though it’s raining. It might make me look like a bada$$, (not really) or a movie star, which is far from what I’m feeling today!! Yumm on the hash browns Joan!!

    Morning all! I’ve got on my darkest shades with the diamond sparkles on the sides …. Its bright Fla sunshine here (for now) ….

    …. I need to get to Hazeling today, but my hearts not in it ….. I’ll do the minimal, and probably some tmrw … Abby went downstairs early this morning, i’m assuming Sal was at the door flirting ….

    …. Being lazy in my hello kitty pjs still, catching up on my fav cooking shows …. Have a great Sat all!

    HI everybody,

    Well, we’re all having a lazy caterday (redundant?). The hash browns sound so good, Joan. It makes me want to (almost) go get some but that would mean getting dressed. Like AV, I’m comfy. Miss Abby and Big Sal are too cute.

    You be bad, KZ! Who says you need sunshine to wear shades! 😎

    I’m watching Shania Twains’ residency stint in Vegas. She really puts on a show for her fans.

    I guess I’ll make me a banana raspberry smoothie for breakfast. Then I need to go pull weeds. 😐

    I wonder if Buttons is back on line?

    oh I love Shania, I bet that was a good show!
    …. just got message that my Hazel is back and coming on Tues 🙂 ….. now I don’t have to feel guilty about not ‘Hazeling’ this weekend! …. yay!

    …. Mr. AV and I have our 30th anniversary on Monday, so we were going to go to Bern’s Steakhouse that night, but after talking it over today, Monday is not a good day, cause we want to share a nice bottle of wine, and having to wake up and work Tues. it wouldn’t be a good idea! … so we’re going tonite! …. can’t wait!!

    …. I’m preparing to plant a spice garden, my original place was too sunny – only the rosemary survived, so I’ve got some nice rectangular planters, and I’m going to put them on the west side of my house, which is shaded, indirect light, yet still gets lots of rain …. can’t wait! …. I’ve got basil, thyme, parsley, cilantro and dill …. some of my favorites!

    Congratulations AV! Sounds so wonderful, and who wants to drink wine and work like a dog the next day!! 😯 Your herb/spice garden will be wonderful. I have had one for years, and I love being able to walk out the kitchen door and snip fresh herbs. You are probably lucky enough to have it year round, here….not so much, and I miss them when it’s too cold for them to grow. Rosemary grows well also here, but not like in California where it looks like a shrub year round!

    Wearing sunglasses on a rainy day has been strange but those kitties up top make it look too fun to pass up!
    It’s been a fairly lazy day here. Did a few things before the rain started, then took a nice nap, lulled to sleep by the raindrops. It’s quite stormy now, with lots of wind.
    I didn’t get around to planting herbs, KZ, is it too late to plant some? Maybe I can get some started ones from the garden center.

    Joan, I just planted mine today, and fla blooms earlier than up north. I say give them a go! I have learned that our hot fla sun is too hot, so this time I’ve put them in planters that I can move around. .. I’m tired of paying for them at the grocery

    Joan, it’s not too late to put them out…they will be just fine! I would get little potted ones and stick them in, I’ve done it even later and they grow just as well.

    Hi all, finally made it here after finding TDK down for some time today.
    It’s been a beautiful sunny Sunday here and we went out for a drive in the country so enjoy it even more. Definitely a day for shades.
    Went for a wonderful hot springs swim this evening, magical sitting in the pool looking at the stars in the sky above knowing the temperature out of the water was very cold.
    AV, congratulations to you both. 😀 hope this evening was wonderful.
