Saturday – 2/5/2015 – International Naked Gardening Day

Well THAT was interesting. Was at the kitchen sink and turned to tell Comet to stop the incessant scratching of the door jam…only to see it was Leela! Normally I would know it was her, because Comet doesn’t scratch incessantly, only a moment or two, but she has literally lived upstairs for at least 3 years. Only in the last few days has she been downstairs on her own. Maybe between Mac being here and me smelling like kittens, she needs to reclaim her turf. Luckily, Comet was napping in the corner so she wasn’t harassed.
Oh and the door jam is no stranger to cats’ claws – Leela clawed it way before Comet was here. It’s where she would do her best Koala Bear imitation, and see how high she could jump and cling to it!

It was nice of the town to give the volunteers first dibs at the leftover trees. I took a few Douglas Firs and a couple of Hackberry trees (I have to look up hackberry trees, don’t know about them).

*skids* back into the Café …. afternoon all! …. well, after looking at a few different stores, then researching on line, I think I know what I want. I decided against the double oven model. The largest oven in a double oven model just isn’t large enough for me, plus I don’t want to give up the storage space that the bottom warming drawer affords, so I want a single large capacity oven. The one I like is a GE Profile Series, dual fuel, with 5 burners and a reversible grill/griddle option over the large oval middle burner. It has a quick boil turbo burner, and the oven is self cleaning and convection! …. really everything I want! …. if you don’t know what dual fuel means, it’s a gas cooktop with an electric oven. It’s perfect for me! I’m very excited, can’t wait to use that griddle/grill, I know I will love it!

… Dau just viber called me from Rio, she is at the airport and takes off in a couple of hours. She lands in Houston around 5am, has a couple hours layover, and should be in Tampa by 10:30 tmrw. Can’t wait to see my baby!

… I made Mr. AV and I a mint julep to sip while watching the Derby …. Son actually attended the even last year with a group of guy friends for one of their bachelor parties, and Son was best man.

Love all the hats and fashion, reminds me of Brittan …. which by the way, what do you all think Kate and Will are going to name their little princess?

Oh, Joan, that is just SO wonderful about Leela!! YAY! I am feeling that because of Mac being there now, it changes everything. I am SO happy for Leela being able to feel more relaxed and enjoying life now. That must feel SO good to scratch that door jam! YAY! I have a HAPPY heart today!!!!! SO happy for sweet Mac too. They have the BEST Mommy!!!
I took the little table fan apart and cleaned it. Now just have to put it back together. I also took Gavin out on the deck in the sun and decided to brush him a whole lot. Must feel good to him. 🙂 While out there I did some stretching exercises. The sun feels SO good. I opened the windows too for some fresh air. Beautiful day today.
It looks so cool to have these BRIGHT yellow goldfinches on my feeders. They really stand out! The chippy was out there again, blue jays, and cardinals. Love seeing them. I heard the woodpecker hollering again, probably the Red Bellied.

I think Princess Joan has a nice ring to it. Or Elaine. No particular reason…
