International Astrology Day is the annual observance celebrated by astrologers and astrology enthusiasts. It is seen as the first day of the astrological year and the first full day of Aries. This marks the beginning of the tropical Zodiac and is directly related to the Spring Equinox.

Good morning! I’m a Leo and I have a Leo. Hope everyone has a pleasant Saturday. Not sure what we’re going to do. Son wants to go to the zoo, but we have possible showers today. I prefer waiting for great weather days….but maybe we’ll risk it.

Good Caturday morning all! I am a Leo also ECB, and I have a Leona, the female version of Leo and she is a Leo too. πŸ™„
Well, it’s snowing here,, but we had to start the woodburner again last night, but it feels really good and I’m not complaining. It’s not all that cold, but a good day to enjoy and that’s just what I’m going to do. A little Hazeling is in order then off to the grocery–later!

Just saw our first hummingbird at the feeder. She was feasting on the lemon blossoms too!

By the way this is THE CUTEST cat video I’ve even seen. I’ve seen it posted many times on FB, but wasn’t sure if it had ever been posted here. You may have seen it already…but just in case you haven’t…

ECB that video gets me everytime! That kitten copying her mother is the cutest thing! Oh I am so jealous you have hummies! Time for me to clean up my feeders and get them ready, as I’ll bet mine are on their way!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone – I’m an Aries, as is Miss Leela. I’ve decided to share my birthday with Mama Cat, and the rest of the gang, who are her kittens, will have their b-day on late neighbor’s, May 13th.
KZ, I’m happy to report that the snow that you are having is not headed directly to Jersey. 2 days ago forecasters were crying “significant snowfall” but now it looks more like maybe a few snow showers. It’s chilly again though, so the wood burner isn’t getting a break anytime soon. Leela is once again worshiping it as we speak! At least it isn’t windy today.
How awesome to see the hummingbird, ECB! They are so cool to watch. If you go to the zoo, say hello to the animals for me! I haven’t forgotten that if I ever get to Florida, we’re going to the zoo as well as that awesome restaurant you posted a few months back. I remember looking at the menu and thinking I would want pretty much one of everything!
That video is adorable! The closest we’ve come here is that little Star swipes at me just like her mom does!

When Merlin was a baby he used to sit up on his hind legs and lick both front paws at once, so that he could wash both sides of his face at the same time. He looked just like a tabby hamster!

Of course, now that he’s seven he’s too tall and heavy to sit up and do that. So instead . . . he sits nestled into the crook of my left arm, where he is supported while he licks both paws together, and washes both sides of his face at the same time.

Still my baby . . . but these days he’s a bit bigger than the average hamster.

LilBit and Miss Moppet are Taurus and Miss Gaea is a Libra.

The video is too precious. I don’t think I’ve seen it before and gotta learn somewhere. πŸ˜‰

I just got back from taking my great niece to her violin lesson. The sun is out but it’s still cold. We supposed to get up to 68f/20c on Monday and by Weds. more snow and cold temps.

Aww, Merlin the baby tabby hamster!
Temps didn’t get out of the 40s here, maybe next week.
Clipped some forsythia and brought it in to force flower. One of the 2 vases mysteriously broke, but I found another spot that the boy can’t readily get to. Already getting some bright yellow blooms!

Hi everyone! I’m a Virgo, and Abby is too (by my default) …. LOL @ the ‘visual’ of Merlin as the baby tabby hamster! …. Abby loves to clean her face, but I’ve never seen her do both paws at once …. she doesn’t have the best of balance (or eye-sight) – typical Siamese πŸ˜‰
My new oven/stove arrived this morning, and it’s all installed, wiped clean, and now making my first meal in it! I’m roasting a whole chicken in the bottom oven, and doing 2 casseroles (maco and green bean) in the upper oven …. I’m trying the convection option for the first time, so this is all an experiment …. hope it goes well! I gave my old oven (which BTW is really a nice oven, and in purrfect shape) to my Hazel, who really loved it …. she and handy Scott live in a rental house, so their oven is ancient at best! …. she was thrilled …..
Not as much congestion/traffic as I expected in the ‘hood for the ‘dye the river green’ hubabaloo today, but it has rained since early, so I’m sure that kept the crowds down somewhat …. well, I’d best get back to monitoring the cooking going ons, have a great evening all! … see ya’ll Sunday!

Good morning all, woke to a dull and damp Sunday and it won’t really improve much but thankfully the temps are still in the low 20’sC so it’s still light clothing.
Checked on my swan plant that the Monarch caterpillars live on and it;s teeming with caterpillars and poop is falling at a steady rate so they are nomming greedily. I hope I don’t run out of plant to feed them. They need to hurry this part of their life cycle through as colder temps are approaching. I guess I will be having some inside if the temps drop suddenly. I only had 3 or 4 hatch out last year compared to the 50 or so the year before. Predators have a lot to answer for.
LOL just heard quiet meowing at the door and a damp HRH has come in and is nomming. I think she will soon head for the bed for the day.
Speaking of HRH, she is a Scorpio and I am a Capricorn.
ECB, woohoo your first hummer of the year. How wonderful. I love that vid, so precious watching the kitten learning at Mama cat’s feet.
KZ, snow ! πŸ™ Keep warm, oh I see you are.
JJ, all this talk of wood burners and I still haven’t called the chimney sweep to come and clean ours. I must do that Monday. Insurance requires that chimneys be cleaned by a professional at least once a year.
CWS, Merlin’s double paw face washing habit sounds adorable.
PG, 20-22 is our top temp range today. Violin lessons, how I remember taking Airy to her violin lessons and Meegz to recorder lessons.
LOL at JJ’s baby tabby hamster comment. Great mental pic JJ. Mysterious breaking of a vase or Comet….. How is Mac getting on JJ? Just had to Google forsythia again and it is beautiful and bright and I can see why you and other TDKers have written about having it inside at this time of year. I might have to see if we have one suitable for my area and on reading about it one that doesn’t grow so large. I live in a sub-tropical area that seems to encourage shrubs/trees to grow much bigger than the norm.
    Good steady rain now.
HRH has just decided she wants to go back outside again, there is no second guessing a cat is there.

    Afternoon everyone πŸ™‚

    http://www.onegreenplanet.org/news/rescued-fox-thinks-shes-a-dog/

Trying to sleep but just have a dickens of a time doing so, worked 12 hours last night (8-8) and think I am over-tired. Just ordered a new pillow that is supposed to stay cool, I sure hope so I am always flipping my pillows because they get too warm and then I can’t sleep. Will let you guys know if this one works, I am crossing paws, toes, and fingers that it does.

    Hugs to everyone

Hi Deb, it is terrible when you are so tired you can’t sleep, really frustrating. Hope you can relax and fall asleep soon.
I hate pillows that warm up the moment your head hits them. I have a pillow with a gel cooling pad in it that works well most of the year. I will be interested in how your pillow goes Deb.
    Beautiful vid of the fox.

Wow, your stove/oven sounds awesome, AV! That’s great that your Hazel gets your old oven, which I’m sure is also very nice. Feels good to pass something along that someone will get use out of, instead of something like a major appliance end up in a landfill. I think I can smell your dinner from here!
I’ve never actually seen a green river, except what they post on the I-net. Unless you call the occasional collection of algae on the lake comparable to a green river. Hmmm, no, I’m sure there’s no comparison! Plus green algae is really stinky!
Hi MS – I remember when you had lots of butterflies and then only a few last year. Hope they do okay this year, I love hearing about them and their progress/challenges.
Oh Shadz, hanging out in the rain again. Lucky you have a cozy home to go to dry off and stay comfy. I’m sure you’ve got a full belly by now too!
Mac is doing well, thank you for asking. He was snuggling by me while I read a few chapters of a book earlier. He loves to annoy Comet, who is pretty happy-go-lucky, but it’s got to be annoying for him when he’s disturbed while trying to nap in his basket. Comet still tackles Leela, who of course is more of a target now that she’s out in the open more, but I often wonder what she’s thinking when Mac goes after Comet.
The pretty blooms of the forsythia really brighten up a winter-weary home. I don’t grow the plant indoors, but the clippings in water bloom for a while, then I just go out and clip some more! I did clip a bunch just before the blizzard in January but they were pretty sleepy and didn’t want to bloom too much. Now they are waking up and looking bright and happy!

Hugs to you too Deb, and there is just nothing worse than a hot pillow. I love moving my feet into a cold spot and having a cool pillow for my face. My Thumbalina (most nights) likes to sleep on my pillow with me which makes it impossible to flip it. One night this week I kept swatting her away, but then I felt bad after I did it. Come morning though, she was ensconced on the pillow anyway so I must have fallen asleep and she did it when I wasn’t swatting.
MS, no there is no second guessing a cat. They are weird like that, but I guess that’s why we love them. Mine were acting all up in my face earlier and I realized I was late with their noms. Oops! I fed them, and of course one of them had to yak three times in different spots on my freshly mopped floor. WTH! I don’t know which one it was except it wasn’t Thumbalina, because she is not a silent yakker.
AV, your oven sounds wonderful! I love my convection oven, I use the convection all the time. It’s great for roasting meats especially. Everything cooks so evenly and it puts a nice brown on things when you want them that way.
CWS, loved the pic in my mind of Merlin washing his face…reminded me of the way rabbits wash their faces. If he did that in my arms, he would get kisses.
Hi PG, it’s cold here too, but it didn’t snow all that much. Just enough to make you realize that it’s still March!
JJ, thanks for reminding me–I need to cut some forsythia and bring it in to brighten up the house! It’s beautiful when it blooms!

Hi Deb, I’m interested in that cool pillow, I’m always flipping mine too, even in winter.
Oh no, KZ, not the silent yakking. Leela is good with that. I found just a little bit of yakkage and it looked like it had been there for a while (not days, but a while!). What worried me is that it was just a little bit, and where there is a little bit, there is usually a lot somewhere else.

Don’t worry, KZ – Merlin gets LOTS of kisses! He’s always been that kind of cat. He’s definitely a lover, not a fighter.

Dorry is a Pisces, which I suppose is a good sign for a kitty as it is represented by a fishie!
