World Doll Day celebrates not only dolls, but also nurturing love and the people offering it, in general. This day is symbolized by Boots Tyner’s logo depicting a child holding a bisque doll, as a symbol of the significance of dolls in early childhood for children. Kits have their own ideas about dolls.

ECB, when we bought this house we didn’t think about changing the locks or re-keying either and a year later we found a letter on the kitchen bench from a realtor. What a fright that gave us.
Awwww KZ, Peso found upstairs, he certainly is an explorer.
AV, you have good hearts when it comes to JUI.
Wow JJ, you have upped the ante on your walks. I hit a personal best yesterday of 7.16km/4.50miles walked as well as an hour in the gym. I slept well but the main thing is no pain and no pain med required.
Bitter sweet memories of Shaddo and Jiggs.
ECB, the cats have a window each.
It was a cold day today, the sun would pop through every now and then but had no warmth and the southerly wind was bitter. Meegz and I hit the Saturday markets. At a Farmers market I tried some smoked Monterray Jack cheese and OMG OMG it was superb, deliciously smokey and with a wonderful tang on the tongue. Problem was they were sold out. 😥 😥 Next time I go I will make sure we get there earlier.
Seeing at it’s a very cold night I made a steamed banana pudding with caramel topping in my old fashioned steamer bowl. We are happiness filled now. HRH is asleep on her new cushion in front of the fire and will most likely stay there all night. She only leaves that cushion during daylight hours.

Good morning – I wasn’t really into dolls as a kid, I was all about the animals. There were Barbie dolls though, and I still have my Thumbalina. I also inherited my aunt’s doll, pretty much because she was on a chair I got.
Fellow TDKr would like today’s cafe. Jcat is into antique dolls.
Oooh, Monterey Jack cheese, yum! Warm pudding in a cold night sounds purrfect! Shadz has the right idea staying by the fire.
The shelter is putting Aslan on Facebook today, they think he will get adopted quickly. I was so hoping my neighbor across the lake would take him so I could see my first foster grow up.

Aww, Aslan….hope he finds a perfect home! MS…that pudding sounds awesome. Banana pudding is a favorite southern dessert here. Wonder if AV would like it…*wink wink*.

We went to pick blueberries this morning but our favorite berry farm has become too popular. They were out of berries at 8am and swarming with pickers looking for some. We left with none, but the owners gave us the name and number for another farm that gets less pickers. We might try them next weekend.

    Happy Caturday everyone!

ECB, we have a berry farm about a 1/2 mile from our house. You could pick to your hearts’ delight, as most people would rather just buy them at the grocery store already picked. A local farmer and his son started up this business a few years ago, and it has taken off like crazy. I see a few people picking, but mostly they hire pickers.

MS, your banana pudding sounds like a great comfort food. How wonderful the HRH has found the perfect spot and you don’t have to go looking for her!

JJ, I hope Aslan finds the perfect home. How empty it will feel once he leaves your home to go to his furever home. There is nothing like a well socialized kitten when you are adopting though.

*peeks* in the Café …. morning all! JUI showed up clean/sober today (2 days in a row now) …. baby steps …… he’s working with Mr. AV in the golf studio re-doing the bath out there ….

Mr. AV loves blueberries, he eats a bowl of greek yogart with granola, blueberries and a little kefir poured on top every morning …. it’s his fuel for the day, and very healthy! ……

My daily fuel is an avocado, a scoop of cottage cheese and my brown rice crackers …..

I’m headed out to the store ….. A’tuin has been out of his greens for a few days, and he’s getting tired of just his pellet food …. LOL …. have a great day all!

yikes! banana pudding! * runnnnnnnnnnnnnnns* ………………..

    Evening all!

MS, that pudding sounds scrumptious, with caramel topping – ‘cept for the bananas. I can’t seem to abide the fruit, although I used to. Suddenly I’m into seedless red grapes. They’re in season and quite refreshing. And avocados are a mainstay.

“Blow Up Doll” for kits hehehe!

I had Barbie. And Ken. And Skipper. I used to make clothes for them and play act. I’d even toss my books out of their shelves and with shoeboxes and standing flashlight as “modern” lamp create split level “condos.” Guess that’s where my “fashion” and “decorating” sense and imagination developed. 😉

At a children’s library where I once volunteered someone donated a doll house for exhibition. Unbelievable! Every detail purrfect in miniature, think there was even some knitting in one of the rooms! In a way reminded me of the famous “Queen Mary’s Doll House” – which had books from famous authors of the time – done up to scale

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_Mary%27s_Dolls%27_House

And it’s finally hot-hot-hot – like +30C with humidity factor! Love it, but also love the fact that with my A/C I can escape humidity! 🙂

Plus this wknd our city boasts the Formula 1 Grand Prix – about which I care not at all and thus avoid the Downtown area where all the par-tays and related noise take place.

Good afternoon all, it’s Monday and a day that just doesn’t want to warm up despite the sun being out.
PG I had to LOL at the blow up dolls for cats pic.
Oh Aslan is on FB. May he find a local furever home quickly and may you see him occasionally.
ECB, isn’t it awful when you are all prepared to pick blueberries and they are all picked, quite a let down.
KZ, half the fun of blueberries is in the picking of them. The laughter amid the bushes, the sneaky popping of one into your mouth and spying each other through the bushes. The Banana steamed pudding was nice but nothing I would rave over. I think I prefer the old reliable recipe that my Mother uses. It’s lighter and tastier. That one would suit you more KJ, no banana in it.
AV, I like to make my porridge with a handful of blueberries. Mmmmmm
A’tuin will really enjoy his new greens. I am trying to will an avocado to ripen at the moment as I usually have avocado on toast for breakfast.
KJ, any chance you can turn the fan our way? We could do with some warmth. Woohoo F1, I used to watch every race but now that it is on pay TV I don’t sadly but sister KK has discovered the joys of F! and is sometimes up in the wee small hours watching.
I am taking things easy today as I have inflamed rib cartilage again, it’s been almost a year since I last had it.

MS, fans have been duly turned NZ-wards!
Hope that your rib inflammation abates soon. From being injured in same area I recall that it was highly painful as it ached every time I breathed. Also hope that you’re icing it or following whatever instructions that you have. And that you have some pain meds on hand.

Looking forward to warmer air reaching here but in the meantime I have lit the fire.
As for the ribs as long as I don’t exert myself they don’t hurt but I am breathing more shallowly too. Paracetamol for the night is a must as however you lie you are pressing on your rib cage.

I had a few dolls but of course mostly had toy cats (house cats as well as tigers and other wild felines). Indeed what I liked most about human dolls was making clothes for them.

It is hot here at last. I love heat, but this morning was extremely humid to the extent that there was a cloudburst. I feel a wee bit nauseated; I am having one espresso but after that nothing but water. I’m going out to buy some bubbly water. There is a mature Norway Maple outside the balcony of my home office. It provides welcome coolness.
