Now I’m getting all weepy about everyone’s Meadow kits, including my first cat/pet ever Nicky (formal name Dominick, never used it). Suave panther-esque Tuxie who taught me what love is. And left me all too soon, age 13.

Anyway I’m out of here for Caturday of rest, somewhat like kit below. Wishing all a great day and see you in whatever’s opened for the weekend tomorrow evening. See you on Monday JK!

Thanks for celebrating Jiggs’ life with me today! It’s so cold out – we got about 8″ of snow overnight and it’s very light and fluffy. The wind is blowing and making it seem colder and tonight is going into negative numbers, yuk!

A story about Jiggs:

Many years ago, I called the cats to come in. I trained them early on to come when I whistled; sometimes it was for a reason, other times it was just to get them to check in with me. In the dusk, I called for the big floofy one: “Come on in, Jiggs.”. Guess what? It wasn’t Jiggs, it was a racoon! Jiggs then came around the corner, the racoon took off, and Jiggs came in.

i got a new patient next week, but im off today…..so i’m chillin (literally n figeratively!)

it went down to 8 degrees f last night aka -13 c i felt like i was sleeping in a FRIDGE!
catface n i ran out for food n salt for the sidewalk and driveway….
im glad i dont drive lol he was sliding all over, and i told him about the new years eve i stayed over with my mum. i had a beetle, n was driving it in the snow. it went about 5mph n i finally got to my mum but i said im staying here. i slept in her nursing home in a chair till the next day, when i left, bathed and changed, fed the cats and came back. this was when i was i pa yet.

Hey Joan thanks for the furry remembrance. Oh those raccoons…used to hide in my tree when fed ferals a few years ago…tried to eat the food. Think they were furry friends w/my Luck too 😉

Another memory, some of you may have heard this one. Shortly after Jiggs died, I was scheduled for a procedure. I’m not one to worry about test results; I believe in dealing with things if and when I have to. So I got some comfort food ready, reading material and even some flowers to brighten up my room, but my biggest concern is how I would get thru this without my special healing kitty. Whenever I would lay down on the bed, sick or just resting, he would sit by me, strategically seated so I could pet him easily. Shaddo was still around (he would follow Jiggs 5 months later), however, Shaddo was never much of a bed cat, he liked his own spots. He fell in love with a bath rug we got for Christmas that year, and spent the better part of the rest of his life there.
As I rested after the procedure, I fell asleep and TWICE dreamed that Shaddo came up on the bed to sit with me. I got up both times and looked around; Shaddo was peacefully sleeping on ‘his’ rug. I’m pretty sure Jiggs did the best he could and made sure Shaddo was there when he couldn’t be!

… I miss my Bic Buc, Milo and Winston too, but I do feel their presence now and again too….

… when I was hospitalized for a long time in 2005, my Abby ‘cat-watched’ me from the time I came home, until I could get up and walk (a month) and beyond!….. she never left my side….. always and still, my velcroe child!

… busy Monday, glad it’s over… heading out to dinner with family, have a great weekend everyone, see you on the weekend cafe!

Thanks again for the special share/remembrance. Agree, our kits have a special way of taking care of their hoomins!
So it’s almost that time to exit stage left outta here. Warm up ’til frigid Sun nite/Moanday around here. Stay safe warm indoor peeps w/furry purries this weekend. Hey Kiwis, send some warm breezes to your Northern Hemisphere friends! Now a smooch for Tux, later kits!

Awwww Joan…. LOVE your kitty stories! Hey, did you see the thumbnail of a moon hanging over the lovely pink sunset? Gorgeous!!!
I am SO cold! I have been shivering since I spent the 2 1/2 hours outside this morning. The cold coming out from my body I think. Have to go take a hot shower, but must wait now as I just used warm water for the washer. The water came close to NOT working. No insulation under it so will probably freeze tonight. 🙁 Here I thought our weather would ease up a bit, but now saw the temps will drop low AGAIN next week…. 🙁 Oh, how I hate January and winter…

Cute pic, JK; I want to cup my hands over those ears, they must be cold. Then again, maybe the lady kitties in Russia are used to it.

BB, I just saw that sunset and the ‘thumbnail’ moon – absolutely beautiful. We have to run water too in an effort to keep pipes from freezing. Here’s hoping we all hang in there without incident. I didn’t sleep much last night – kept getting up to put wood in the stove and see if the water taps were still trickling.

*Waves furiously at Ann*. Hi, Ann, omigosh, what a cutie little Buzz is. Bless the memory of Jiggs, Shaddo, Maneki, my Jasper and all the good boy kitties who are now playing in the meadow.
Well, the wind’s died down here but it still doesn’t feel like summer and it’s back to work next week! Millie is miaowing at me constantly because we’ve run out of raw meat and she’s sick of biscuits — bit of late lunch and then I suppose I better get down to the supermarket for her… Catch you all, later! Happy New Year to all, and Happy New Year to Tom, our Kittenmaster.

Love the babushka cats! sent it on to several folks, here in cold-land and also in sunnier climes (my MIL lives in Florida now, but keeps up with the weather in Chicago via WGN superstation, maybe to be glad of what she’s missing!)
It’s soooo cold here, and the wind is whipping and sneaking through the window next to the computer. Think I need to find a cup of hot cocoa and comfy spot on the warm side of the Café. Stay warm guys!

Hey guys .. Peeking back in.. Mr B just got in and woke me 🙂

Gosh sounds like a lit of TDKers are having worse than chilly weather.. Myself and Mr B learned the hard way about frozen water pipes.. Cause we’re in the mobile the pipes froze from -5 on.. And if there were days of -5 temps it would stay frozen for days worst stretch was 12 days!!! But we discovered if we used our compresser and blew out all the water from the lines each night there was nothing to freeze and we always has running water.. Very handy when all around us in houses were left without water when it went below -15 🙂 they were coming to us looking for water cause even the local towns supply had frozen ..
