Hello Buttons or any other Irish TDKers! I am planning a trip to Ireland – way in advance we are planning for 2018. This trip will be focused on Northern Ireland – Belfast, the Sligo coast, Giants Causeway, Derry and Donegal areas. So my question is, what is the best time for good weather outside of summer? We don’t want the crowds of June, July, August so we were thinking Spring or Fall. I am using a tour company that I have used before when I did the southern coast of Ireland but planning this far out we have our pick of dates.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice!

    Hey TM,

You should post this on FB for Buttons. She’s got her hands full and doesn’t check in most days.

Thanks PG, I don’t think I am a member of the group on Facebook, I will look into that though. Also there is definitely no rush. The tour company isn’t going to start planning 2018 until April 2017. πŸ˜€ Once I have a goal though I want to get things organized. And of course I am already excited and looking forward to this and nothing is planned yet.

Hey πŸ™‚ oh I’m so happy you’ll be calling over πŸ˜† you’d swear I owned the whole island πŸ˜†

So here’s what I think.. I’d avoid the fall… it generally pretty miserable her during the fall at least in spring the days are longer and you get to see all the green and the lambs are everywhere! and it’s less likely to be so rainy but even if it is there seems to be a buzz about in spring… I only wish you’d be closer to us .. we’re literally on the bottom of Ireland and your heading for the top πŸ™

on a side note I think I’m the only Irish TDK at the moment I think anyway..

Buttons, you don’t own the whole island? πŸ˜‰ IMHO you’re the most famous purrson (nicest too) in IE! πŸ™‚

Thanks Buttons! I do love the southern part of Ireland! I have twice toured the South west coast starting at Dublin and over to Dingle, through Cork and Kerry. I was lucky enough to make it out to Skellig Michael on my first tour and to the Aran Islands on another trip.
