POOP is the question

Ok so, DeeDee is eating really well. And pee’s great. But I am unsure of poo. She pee’s in the litter and it look like only pee. But she mews the whole time till she is done.

Is she pooing to, it’s just liquid? Or should her po be solid? She is still only on goats milk. It doesn’t smell when she goes, so I think it is just pee. But she hasn’t pooed since Tuesday.

Hi Kandy,

It’s great that DeeDee is peeing in the litter box. Her poop should not be liquid. You can put a bit of olive oil in her milk to help ease her pooping. However, I would call a vet. because 3.5 days is long time for a kit not to poop. I’m not a fan of enemas for kittens but she may need one. Purrhaps, KZ has better advice. I’ll bump it to her.

You would know if she was pooping. I’m going to post the link for the ‘triangle method’ for pooping a kitten. In the video it’s kind of hard to see. But you have to stimulate the anal area, not just the pee area. Most kittens pee just fine, I mean they will pee if they just happen to drag their pee parts across a blanket!! 😀 Keep trying, she will eventually poop, and she will probably fuss, but keep striving for poop.
