My little girl just got an early Christmas present from her daddy and she absolutely adores it! It’s called a Kitty Kat circus. Not only did it divert her attention from running around the house like crazy, it distracted her attention from biting too. Wow! I am really amazed. I just think that everyone should have one for their furbabies.

Thanks! I would say that I am lucky to have her! I’ve never cared for a pet and she’s my very first, but I think of her more like my sweet daughter more than just a pet. I am sure many of you feel the same way about your cats as well.

Tuttibella, you are right. Many of us regard our kits as four legged children.

I work long hours 3 days a week and the rest of the day I usually stay home with her. I love it that whenever I come home after a long day at work, the moment she hear my keys, she’ll get all excited and will wait for me at the front door. When I come inside, she’ll sprint towards me and rub herself against my leg. The cutest thing she did is lie down on the floor, belly up, heads up, eyes close, waiting for a belly rub. She’s so spoilt!

Both my cats do that every day for four years now tuttibella, it is unconditional love and putting her belly up means she trusts you completely.

    Aren’t cats wonderful?

Tuttibella, I’m so glad that LucyBelle is doing so well! You really did a great job nursing her and getting her off to a good start. She sounds like a wonderfully affectionate kitten!

She’s greeting you, by the way, largely as she would be greeting her mama (may she rest in peace). Rubbing up, and then lying down (to be groomed, in your case, it’s belly rubs)… it’s wonderful that she’s so demonstrative!

Oh, and I can just imagine her tearing around on one of these! She’s so fearless that she’d probably zip right up to the top!!

Pipa’s Mum : Yes, cats are such wonderful creatures! They exhibit such funny behavior sometimes which makes your day go happily. I can just sit and watch her do her antics and it’s better than watching tv.

anncetera2 : Thank you so much for all your much needed info and advise @ the beginning. You provided me so much help and I am forever grateful! Now that Lucy Belle is on her two months mark soon, I know I can depend and count on everyone here for more insight as the challenges moves on.

Thanks for the link anncetera2. You have read my mind … LOL! I am shopping for a cat tree/gym/condo for her. How’d you know?

Anyway, she has a small one now and she seems pretty happy and content but when she is a little older, I’ll get a taller one, since she really like to climb. I’ve seen one with a little hammock and it’s just too cute. It’s so hard looking at all the furnitures. I felt like getting them all. Haha .. but space is very limited here, in a NY apartment, so it’s either I move to the suburbs and build her a kitty paradise or she will just have to be contended with what she have. Actually, it’s more like me wanting her to get the luxury … she’s all too happy playing with rumpled paper anyway.

Tuttibella, the link I posted is one of the more reasonable places I’ve found for cat condo furniture. (While I haven’t purchased any, I’ve been appalled at some of the prices I’ve seen for lower-quality furniture at PetsMart and Petco.) Ace seems to have models 70 inches or taller, so because your square footage is tight, those might be ones to look at. If you don’t have really tall ceilings, you could get one that’s springloaded to push against the ceiling (but I’ve always preferred freestanding).

I’m just so glad that LucyBelle came through. I wish you could have taken her siblings, too, but you did everything you could. It’s obvious to me that LucyBelle has stolen your heart.

I think on the cuteness scale, Lucy Bell is a 20!!! You will have to arrange a playdate with Great Dane’s Bob!!

One lesson you will learn quickly is that you don’t need to pay a lot of money for expensive cat toys. They are perfectly happy with things like paper bags (especially with a corner cut out), tissue paper, ping pong balls, the plastic rings off milk jugs, etc.

If you can fit one in then definately get her a bigger cat tree when she gets older. It has saved much of my furniture over the years (I don’t declaw). I’m afraid that you are now hitting the VERY active time for kittens, so take a deep breath, put away the breakables, and enjoy the show.

I also want to add a word of caution. I know people think that kittens and balls of yarn go together, but I had a cat who nearly died when she was a kitten because she got the yarn wrapped around her neck while playing. Also you need to watch out for things that they might eat, such as string, rubber bands, thread, pins and needles, etc. They are so very curious at that age so your home really needs to be “kitten proofed”.

Thanks for the great advise! Yes, she definitely is hitting highest energy peak time. It’s hard to even get her to sleep at night without she making a big fuss out of it. I don’t allow her to roam around the house at night and confined her to her kennel. I have her cat bed and some toys inside, and she loves Bubbly, sometimes sleeping on top of him. Bubbly btw is her cuddly toy bear, which she has been sleeping with since she’s 5 days old. She only snug with him when it’s bedtime… other than that, she won’t even go near him when I take him out of the kennel.

I’ve uploaded a vid on catster just now. It’s her playing and attacking her fishy fun toy, which she can’t get enough of, before the arrival of daddy’s new toy that is.

Your kitty is a total cutie, Tuttibella! I love the picture of her laying on her back with her eyes closed.

As for the playdate Max and Molly’s Mom suggested, Bobman just sent a friend’s invite, so let the fun begin!
