    *sigh*

Today is a bad day… I’ve been fighting a depressive funk, and today’s just not a good day. I’m in a lot of pain in the shoulder they took the bone spur out of last week, and while I’m trying not to take too many pain killers, I swear this chronic pain is going to stretch my sanity to the limit.

I’m missing work (again), and that’s not going to fly for long.

I know people here understand chronic pain.

Thank you for letting me ramble.

Jennifer – I understand the misery of chronic pain and hope your healing will be quick. If the doctor has given you meds for pain please consider taking as prescribed or needed. It won’t help to brave it out, constant pain just causes a person to feel down and out. Is the surgery meant to completely eliminate the pain? If so take the meds until you can handle the level of pain. I send you healing light and a big TDK hug.

    Thanks. 🙂

The surgery took out the bone spur that was in my shoulder, which will relieve the constant pain once everything’s healed. The physical therapy is to make sure I don’t scar up and can get back a full range of motion.

    It’s just that everything hurts.

And I do need to be better about taking the pain meds, I just feel like I shouldn’t take too much because I’m supposed to be the strong one. :-p Stupid, I know.

    How well I know that “supposed to be strong” mentality. Was mine too. Take your meds and feel better during this time of healing. The funk you are experiencing is harmful for so many reasons. Take pity on yourself, treat yourself as if you were treating a very special loved one. You are. {{{HUGS}}}

Jennifer I am sorry you are not feeling well. Please take your meds as the doctor prescribed for just this sort of thing. When I was 19 I had my wisdom teeth out. I am hyper sensitive to medicines. So my mom said to only take half the vicodin which turned out to mean I was still feeling the pain and couldn’t sleep much. I should have taken the whole pill at the time.

Pain is only useful if you don’t know what is causing it – it lets you know something is wrong. Once you know the cause of the pain it has done its job so it is no longer needed – so GET RID OF IT! Take whatever meds are offered and feel better.

I agree — well said, Pollys Mum. Jennifer, I’m so sorry you are hurting, physically and emotionally. I hope a brighter day comes along for you soon. You’ll be in my prayers.

Sometimes being strong, means knowing when to accept help – and in this case, you NEED to take the painkillers while you heal. I had a shoulder op 6 years ago, and can’t imagine what the aftermath would have been like without pain relief. And when you’re feeling down, pain only makes things worse. So, dose up, and I hope you begin to feel better soon. xx

    Thanks y’all. 🙂

I have taken the pain meds, and it goes help. I even managed to call into work and run a 90 minute meeting, so I don’t feel guilty about missing work.

Y’all’re great big help. Thanks. 🙂

Hi, hon, so glad the meds are helping. Can you see somebody about your depression, if it’s that instead of the “of course I’m feeling low, I’m in pain!!!” There are a lot of folks here who have/are fighting depression, so you’re not alone. Sometimes being in a lot of pain can even trigger it–I got mine after a really nasty bout with Lyme disease.

How are you doing today Jennifer? I hope you are feeling a bit better.

Keep popping the pills if they work. Go back to the doc if they don’t. No-one should ever put up with pain if it can be stopped.

Hope you are feeling better now. Take those pills – pain makes no one a better person, only crankier.

Jennifer, TAKE YOUR MEDICINE. There’s a reason they give it to you. I didn’t really like the idea of taking pain meds either, but they really really help. Miu was right. Pain only makes life miserable. I do hope you feel better soon. *BIG hugs to Jennifer*

I was a little better today (could drive myself to work), but I have more PT in the morning and warned my boss I will not make it in afterwards if I’m anything like I was yesterday. Luckily, there’s plenty for me that I can do from home, and as long as I can sit up and type while drugged out of my mind, I can get paid. 😉

    #62915

That’s great that you can work from home.

I’ll continue sending healing energy to you.

    Hugs and purrs.
