Falling in love with the little fuzzballs is a common – near univerval – experience! Welcome to the “club”. You are doing a great job!

OK just wondering 2 days ago he/she was eating about a teaspoon every two hours. Now he is eating about 2 teaspoons a every two hours. Is it normal for him to eat this much this quick? But he/she acts starved when it comes time to eat. Then he eats to where his little belly is so full. I let him eat until he stops. And also we just got done eating and I swear he had the hiccups. But they did not last but about 5 minutes. Wondering if that is normal also lol. Not sure. Thanks all.

Sounds fairly normal baby behaviour to me! White, black and ginger — sounds like a tortie to me! Which makes her a little girl! What a honeypie.

Getting bigger. We are still doing good. And I think the cord is going to fall off soon.

Just found this thread! What a precious baby!…. thank you for rescuing her, sounds like you are doing just fine!….. I predict this cat and you will have a very special “bond” because you found her so young!….. I’d love to see more pics…. have you made a catser page?

I just added a new pic for my avatar. Sorry I don’t have a catser page. Let me know where to make one and I will try to do it soon. Thanks so much.

… you go to catster.com and sign up (it’s free), or click on my avatar or many of those above and it will take you to our page, then you can click on home and sign up from there….. as long as you use the same email address as you did on your avatar, it should link to your page when you click on it….. good luck, and we all look forward to seeing more pics of your precious baby!

Oh wow! My foster 2 I took in 2 days shy of their 7th week. Concatulation for rescuing and seems like your doing everything right to keep this little cutie alive. I think your giving this sweetheart the will to live with all the care you are bestowing on this little creature. 🙂 Kudos to you and your family for doing what you are doing for this little bundle 🙂

Definite black and ginger patch = 99% chance that this is a girl. Black and Orange/Tan cats are very rarely red/black mixed coats. This is because the color tag is on the X chromosome (one per customer) and mixed coat males are usually XXY or have an abnormal Y chromosome.

Don’t know if you’re doing this, but after feeding, you want to burp the little gal. Just like a human baby, put her over your shoulder and give her a gentle pat on the back, you’ll hear a little “urp” or hiccup sound. Helps her with gas, so she doesn’t get a sour stomach. Sometimes this can produce a charming stinky little poof out the other end, too!

    Good luck!

Yes I read about and have been burping . But today we are having a little issue with constipation. I think we have made it through it for now. Had to help get some poop out. I called a vet office and they recommended diluting the milk and adding a little mineral oil will help. If anyone else has any more advice on this I would really like to hear it. One more thing I really think this little one is a boy. I know it is rare. But I have looked at pics online and from what I have read he is looking more like a boy. But time will tell. And I am so new to all of this. Thanks again all.

He’s so tiny. I wish you lots of luck with him. Don’t hesitate to ask for advice; there are a lot of people here who have raised orphans recently.

Janell, welcome to the litter! Your baby is BE-U-TI-FUL! I am in love already and he is so wee! I am amazed at your ability to pick right up on what he needs and take such good care of him. somehow I missed when you first posted but you have come so far in such a short time. IF it is a boy, he is growing fast and will probably eat a lot to help keep him growing. I have nothing to add to the advice already given except, come back often, never be afraid to ask for help, and GIVE HIM LOTS OF LOVE from all of us! We LOVE kittens and we have had a lot of kitten “newbies” lately and it has been amazing to see how well they are all doing! You are an angel for saving him and listening to your daughter! This poor baby probably wouldn’t have made it without your help! Keep posting, we want to know how your baby is! YAY! BABY KITTY!
