I have decided to get a kitten but I cant decide weather to get one or two, this is because you can get two kittens for the price of one, at the humane society near me also I’m worried one kitten will get bored and run a muck. I leave the house for 6 hours every weekday. but I have someone at my house for a few hours or so, she leaves for a few hours one day stays the whole time other days. I have time to feed the kitten in the morning and in the afternoon. will getting two kittens be that much more expensive????? and will it be better to get two for entertainment purposes? (the kittens entertainment, not mine) can i have advice please?

2 always 2 if you have the chance, they do entertain each other and are entertaining to you. The only thing that gets expensive is the initial care package (shots, spaying/neutering, etc.) and then if they get sick other than the normal annual check-ups (like any other living being).

Two. You’re correct that two kittens will keep one another entertained / occupied when you’re not there. They will also be highly entertaining when you are there. Two really are not much more expensive than one, once the initial vetting is done. And you’ll be able to discern two very distinct personalities, even if the two kittens are from the same litter.

I have always had 2, usually a brother and sister. Since I work 5 days a week, I decided that having two was not much more expensive and they would be good company for each other in my abscense. They play with each other and not tear up the house, which is good also! I wish you luck in your choice, and hope you enjoy your furbabies, as I have enjoyed mine. Hugs and purrs, Lynn

2 dragonlover, since they are comming from the humane society the expensive part of the spaying/neutering should be taken care of and shots are not all that expensive 🙂

2 of course! they will keep each other company and they are much more lovable (at least mine are)

I vote for 2 as well, especially if you can get littermates.

Honestly I think two saves some money. when they have a companion their overall health seems to be better

I had my first cat, Kirby, who was a loner-she wouldn’t allow another person, let alone another cat in HER house!!! But after she went to the Rainbow Bridge, I adopted Max and Molly, 4 or 5 year old siblings (folks didn’t know how old they were), and it’s the best thing I ever did!! They are so very different, but at the end of the day, they end up curled around each other, sleeping or grooming, and it’s absolutely wonderful to see.
