Good Morning Kitties! I wanted to say that I was slow but got a couple of picture links posted to Mickey’s Update thread. I was a tad slow putting them up without my coffee first. Argh! He’s such a handsome boy. Is there any strong coffee in the house?

Hi everyone – lots of action in the cafe today; one of those little wriggly kittens scooted right in front of me! *captures the little ball of fur and hands back to Jcat*

Last night I stepped out my back door to get some damp jeans off the railing and just as I stepped back in, Leela hopped out! I said something, trying not to shout/scream, dropped the jeans and turned around; thankfully she was right at the door. I knew the boys’ habits so well they were easy to get back in if they ducked out when not allowed, but this was a first for Leela. Who knows if she would be the type of kitten to just bolt and keep running, with no id and not spayed (spay and chip next month). Turns out she was more interested in being by mama than outside; she looked scared. Hubby said she certainly heard the concern/panic in my voice.

    *hands Karen coffee*

I would have freaked out Joan, glad Leela wanted just to be near mommy and is safely inside…

Morning to all my friends, lurking mostly these last couple of days. Be back in a bit, gotta go feed the horde before they ‘starve’ or get someone to call Animal Control on me complaining about the horrid dining situation in this house!

Ohh, Leela, you are reckless! Don’t scare your Mom like that!

It sounds like Leela was more frightened even than Mom! In this case it’s good she was a scaredy cat! Hi Joan.. lol! Thanks for the coffee Miu…Morning Deb, Jen, HM and Terri!!

CM, my knee is doing very well. I’m without my cane and my walk is pretty good now. Therapist says I may not need any more therapy and I see the surgeon next week to get his okay and release from care.

Deb, LOL at the image of your cats calling about not getting fed quickly enough!

Joan, my cats, too, want to get out, but if I take them out, they are both afraid of the noise of the cars going by and hang close to Mama.

*getting refill on iced tea and petting a couple of the agency kitties as I go by*

CM, its a good thing I don’t have a gun w/ammo in the house otherwise it might have been used last night, yes the headache(s) have gotten that bad and the meds only work for a little bit. Today I can at least function somewhat so crossing fingers that it will be going away at last.

LadyKat, yes my ‘poor’ neglected furry ones are in dire need of food…the six bowls of various dry food, along with getting 1 tsp of wet food twice a day plus snacks are truly not enough…why any self-respecting kitty would be howling at the very thought of enduring such a dismal life! And with the exception of Max (who has been sick of late) none of them are under 11 lbs, so you can just see the gaunt skeletons dragging themselves thru the house and hallways. Glad that you knee is doing better 🙂

It was fun having Leela around this summer, but I sure missed the boys; 1st summer without them in 17 years. On a nice day I would sit outside, and they would both be in the yard with me. (Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young: “…with 2 cats in the yard…”) When they were younger they would wander further, but always came when I called for them to check in.

A couple of years ago, it was a chilly March day with snow on the ground and the sun shone brightly. I dressed in dark clothing and sat outside – the woodpile on one side of me and a kindling box on the other, shielding me from the wind. The sun warmed my face, and Jiggs was on my lap, further warming me. When I closed my eyes, I could imagine being on a beach; except instead of sand, snow and instead of a beach towel covering my legs, Jiggs. It was so cozy!

Shaddo had one last experience outside. Just before our appointment on that sad day on June 9, I took him outside and laid him on the soft lawn for a few minutes. It was a hot day, so we sat in the shade as a cool breeze swept over us. It was the least I could do for my boy who loved the outdoors so much.

As for Leela, hubby and I agreed several years ago that the next generation would be indoor kitties. Notice that was plural. Don’t get excited yet, folks; we probably won’t adopt anyone till spring – unless someone adopts us!

Deb, I do hope you are able to get some relief from your headache. I can’t imagine having a headache that bad. Take care, girl, sending healing thoughts your way.

Thanks guys. I’m so sad about Moo I had to write about the boys.

Deb, I remember those days of my poor starving neglected kitties, lol! “I wanna go out. I wanna come in. Why aren’t you at the door when I’m waiting? Where’s breakfast? Where’s dinner? Pay attention to me! I’m asking nicely, where’s breakfast? Ok, now I’m gonna cut you off so you trip and fall. Where’s breakfast?”

{{Joan}} HM, sending Oliver and Sammy for some scrinches through the wormhole. Be gentle with Sammy, he had a teeth cleaning yesterday.. might be a little skitterish.

Joan, being sad about Moo had me reminiscing about Hootie too, and his sad last day. I know what you mean. Breakfast, I’ll take a lot of bacon and some eggs over easy and a steaming cuppa joe. I have 2 roofers repairing our roof this morning and they probably would like some too!!
