November already?? Yep. And the kitties are serving up all of your favorite noms and bevvies.
Beach time and snowman building time is over in favor of falling leaves and blooming flowers. Soon enough, though, we will be into winter and summer.
It’s a rainy windy day here in Jersey, so I’m spending some time lounging here in TDK land.
Chef kitties await your custom order.
    Welcome!

Waves @ Joan 🙂 Windy, windy here too…

Went to go see the movie St. Vincent yesterday, it has Bill Murray, Melissa McCarthy and Naomi Watts in it….good movie, thought it would be but it was even better than I imagined. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2170593/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Actually even watched 10 minutes of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, flipped the channels after that, they played it over and over again yesterday.

    … Morning Deb & Joan! ….

… I had to laugh out loud @ the Rocky Horror Picture Show …. they were playing a marathon of that all day long yesterday! I’d forgotten how funny and cutting edge it was for the times … still a good satire ….

… well, last night was the coolest of all so far this year for us, and I broke out the fleece blankie for my bed …. Abby, immediately assumed I had done so for her, so she promptly dove under it and fell asleep at the foot of the bed …. so for the rest of the night, Mr. AV and I had to ‘adjust’ out legs, as each time we rolled over, there was a ‘bump’ in our way, LOL!

    … having a relaxing Caturday morning ….

Oh, cute, Abby! Yep, anything new must be for the cats….especially if its soft and on the bed.

The commercials for that movie tempted me, Deb. And that saying a lot. I’m not a movie person at all and almost never see them. (Not sure why…they’re too long for me, I think.) But I like Melissa McCarthy since I love Gilmore Girls.

Ricky Horror wasn’t on here, watched the first hour of Night of the Living Dead (scary movie!), then watched Grimm.
We don’t get to the movies often here either, but the trailer does look good.
Awww Abby, that blankie was brought out for you! I have to be a bit of a contortionist at night since Leela sleeps by my feet, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. It had been too long when she stopped and went into whatever it was that depressed her and made her live in my closet, then next to the bed when she got evicted from the closet.

    Waves @ AV, ECB 🙂

Rocky Horror Picture Show was not my cup of tea many years ago, now I see why after the whole ten mins I watched….yes I was not into the cult classics I must say, lol.

Lil Girl gets quite possessive of ‘who’ gets to lie next to me and where, Red usually uses my upper arm as his pillow with his back to me and Kitty it’s anywhere he is near to the ‘treat’ bag in case I forget where it is 🙂

Happy Caterday Joan, Deb, ECB and Av,

I don’t what happened to the noms and bevvies because I’d swear my kitties hadn’t been feed…ever. 😆

My gang of furballs absolutely decided the electric blankie and flannel sheets are for them…AND IT’S ABOUT TIME. My 3 furballs in bed means I pretty much have to stay in one place. The weather has been odd but is now getting back to normal. In Colorado that means cold (brrr).

AV, we had Rocky Horror Picture Show as well. When I think of when it came out it was before its time. Joan, I love Grimm and Sleepy Hollow.

So last night, I saw “Gone Girl.” OMG-I was on the edge of seat from the beginning. It was a disturbing movie, not scary, but so well acted.

Have a great day. My day is starting while the furballs are taking morning naps.

Well I guess the first nap is done for the morning, at least it was for an hour or so 🙂

Getting chilly in your neck of the woods? Enjoy this recipe for Tortellini Soup:

This is a great soup for a cold winter night, especially when you don’t have a lot of time to make a “homemade” meal that takes forever. It’s also a great way to get some vegetables in your diet, but in a yummy way! Serve with a little buttery toasted bread and you’ve got yourself a tasty supper. The best part is that it’s even better the next day! Shelley

    3T olive Oil
    1 Clove garlic, minced
    3 stalks, celery, chopped
    3 carrots, peeled and chopped
    1 onion diced
10 oz box frozen spinach (unthawed)
2 cans cream of chicken soup
    2 cans water
    32 oz chicken broth
Family size package of cheese or chicken tortellini, half cooked

    1) Put olive oil in the bottom of a large soup/stock pan
    2) Saute’ garlic, celery, carrots and onions until tender
    3) Add frozen spinach. Break up blocks of spinach as you cook
    4) Continue to saute’ until spinach thaws, then heats up
    5) Add cream of chicken soup and water
    6) Add chicken broth and then add tortellini
    7) Heat and Serve

Note: It’s better to eat it a few hours after it’s made so the broth soaks up into the noodles. Better yet, make it the night before.

afternoon all! Deb, that soup looks yummy, I love tortellini!

… been experimenting again with the ‘dump cake’ receipes today, made a pumpkin/apple one topped with pecans to take to Sat. dinner tonight …. smells good …. will serve with vanilla ice cream and/or whipped cream

… Glad you could sleep a little …. I’ve not been sleeping well lately, my eczema is badly flared, which makes it hard to sleep cause it itches so bad 🙁

… Dau is all settled, and vibered me today that it was very cold/rainy today, and she was so glad she had her own place to hang out in, do laundry, and generally veg out watching her netflix …. I’m so happy for her …

… supposed to be the coldest day so far tomorrow, so I’m looking forward to a cozy day at home …. Abby likes that too

    Evening all!
Spent the day sleeping which by it’s nature excludes eating so off to accomplish latter as latte. Quiet in Lounge, probably kits all snuggled up in November chill sets in, or they forgot to get ready to change time and got creative with clocks LOL. I do have many watches (mostly fashion, not Piaget, and reset them in advance leaving clock radio with correct time as last minute task. Plan to go to bed 1 hr earlier so as not to be totally out of sync tomorrow. And blessings for all as from sundown today until same time tomorrow is my Hebrew birthday, and one is privileged esp to give out blessings, (English b-day was last week as per calendar, Hebrew one is also same day as 9th of Cheshvan, but goes according to lunar calendar, day coincides every 19 yrs.)

Well, here’s one – not for us grrls – but for the guys in our lives, as month dedicated to awareness of men’s health issues:

I know some guys who grow ‘taches for month and actually look better with the added facial hair – then come Dec. 1 they shave it off.

Good evening everyone, it seems I’m coming in as everybody is going out! Changed the clocks upstairs, must not forget to do it downstairs in a bit.
I’m so glad to find that PG and Joan like Grimm as I do! It’s actually my favorite show. I don’t know what that says about me, but I love the characters and kind of wish they would back off the gore a bit as I don’t care for that. It would be hard to start watching this show for the first time now, if you had not seen it from the beginning, don’t you think?
Happy Birthday again KJ! Hope you are snuggled up with Dorry and staying warm. It’s quite chilly here and is supposed to be down into the 20’s by morning. That’s cold for this early!
Whoever invented fleece must surely have cats…it seems to be a cat magnet. Anything fleece automatically makes my cats start kneading and purring, LOL!

Hi all, finally made it into the Cafe. Spent the morning with Mr MS spraying nasty annual prickle weeds in the lawn, then went out to lunch with his sister and family. It’s a beautiful sunny day and the sunscreen was in use.
HRH has been stooging around the property chasing insects and sleeping in shady spots. Bliss. Oh to be a cat and sleep that easily ans freely.
I have a lamb roast(the 2nd of 4 that we won over two weeks) in the oven slow roasting and am about to prepare a tray full of veg for Mediterranean roast veg with olives to go with the lamb. Must add some yellow beets from the garden and toss in some kale to crisp into chips at the end. Mouth watering.

Didn’t sleep much today at all but oh well such is life, sitting here at ‘this place’ doing what is asked of me and then to go home in a mere 7 hours.

Saw these tips on FB and thought that they were worth sharing….

    EARN YOUR WINGS

“SIMPLE SOLUTIONS”, made from junk, turned into shelters for our feral/stray cats…….Please use straw in the kitties boxes, not hay, blankets, or linen’s of any type…Cedar chips inside the boxes ensures fleas will stay away. Diatomaceous Earth Grade flour (fossil shell flour) in their wet food or sprinkled on their dry food ensures our kitties will have no parasites throughout the winter. Always face the doors toward a wall to ensure the wind stays out and add a curtain to help enforce this…Dark colored water bowls will help the sun warm or defrost their water (keep them out of the wind, but in the sun). If you see one of your kitties with upper-respiratory infection starting, remember Colloidal Silver can knock the infection right out of them without handling your feral/stray cats (put into wet food or water)..Make sure your boxes are not to high, keep them around 12 to 15 inches high as this will help the heat stay closer to your kitties and not float to the top of the box, this will also ensure your cats will not pee/spray inside the boxes…..now your ready…!

(Lily) I have used Silver for years now, I make my own, anyone interested, google The Silver Puppy Generator it costs 140 dollars but worth it in the long run, it knocks infections within a couple of days , you can put it on wounds, sores, Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade I buy mine in Essex Feed Store for one dollar and seventy five cents a pound!

Prayers and healing energies please for Big Foot (and many other names he goes by), very good friend’s kitty who is so worried about his baby….Big Foot hasn’t had a bowel movement for a few days and quite impacted (sorry TMI) so he is in the kitty hospital tonight on IV’s and trying to loosen up so he can be cleansed. He is a BIG baby, weighs close to 20 lbs and is a poly with feet almost as big as my hands. He used to come bounding across the parking lot when we were in our other building, finally talked my friend into taking him home (thought he needed a furry buddy since he was so gruff with everyone, it worked ) and that was the beginning of the fairy tale for BF and his hoomin family 🙂
