Hi Lynn. Hope you had a great weekend.

Ugh! I still have more laundry to fold!

I think it’s going to wait until later… or tomorrow.

I had someone came in and spray my bedroom/bathroom for ants today.

(I never heard of ants in a bathroom before, I thought they go after food! Seems – since we haven’t had rain in monthes here – they are coming in for moisture!)

Of course, I get migraines very easy so I washed everything washable in those rooms tonight. I’m about beat now.

For those of you who didn’t see the weekend post, Kay’s former mother in law was found in her home by her sons unconscious Saturday. They were to be checking on her daily. No one did since Sunday a week ago. She was taken to the hospital and her kidneys were shutting down and her brain had very little activity. Because no one had a copy of a living will, she was put on life support. Terri, her grandaughter, Kay’s daughter, lives in Miss. and left by dark, on Saturday night and drove straight thru to here. She made it in time. Nora passed away at 1:07 this afternoon. There will be alot of turmoil with the kids, (Kay’s) and why didn’t the sons check on her for a week?? They’ve had it. The lady had enough money to have an alert system put in the home and even if she didn’t, one of the son’s was wealthy enough to do it. They didn’t want to call cause they didn’t want her to fall getting to the only phone in the kitchen?? What happened to the one in the rec room. No excuse. Kids are upset at the passing, but more angry about the neglect. God help us all, it is going to be a very long week. I agree with the kids, they saw problems with this dear lady, but sons wouldn’t listen. I think this will definetly change the dynamics of the relationship with their dad, in fact, I would bet the farm on it. Gonna be a long week, forgive me if I don’t get back for a few day. Thanks for listening. Lynn

Cathi, I have a terrible ant problem. What can be sprayed that will not get the kitties sick? I once set off flea bombs to get rid of bugs, and I broke out in itchy hives for months afterward.

I have ants in my bathroom and have to spray from time to time, too. I will try the vinegar next time Dorie, Tks.

Hi Cathi, does the laundry ever end?? Sorry about the ants. You are right they are looking for moisture. Can I assume you have not much rain in the last week or 2? Vinegar does work, just smells like crap! Hope your migranes go away soon. Stay well, Love Lynn

I’m going to use vinegar in my kitchen right now, since ants are doing the conga from the sink to the garbage can to along the floor.

    Really??!!

I hate ants but I didn’t even want to get ant traps because I thought both Max and Gali would play with them.

I was afraid that the boys would get sick from the spray so they were banished from the bedroom since this morning. The guy that sprayed said it was ok for them to return to the bedroom around 5pm but I waited until 8pm (had the windows open wide until then).

If I knew about the vinegar, I wouldn’t have had to do that at all.

Thanks for the tip. Next time I’ll use the vinegar instead.

Lynn, so sorry about Kay’s former mother-in-law. There is no excuse for her boys not to be checking on her for a week, knowing she was not healthy!.

Sorry for the sadness I know Kay is feeling and for the family. Love, hugs and positive energy to you and Kay and all involved.

If there is anything I can do or say that will help, please let me know.

    Hugs and purrs,

    bobbi

Thanks Catwoman, and hope you are ok too. As you get older, you are never spared from this. I know that the kids realize as long as a grandparent is alive, there is a safety zone. Now that zone is gone. Now your parents are next in line. Their dad is not well, so now this is what they see. Kay is good in health as well as anyone at 61 would be, nothing to worry about, nothing life threatening. But it does bring you around full circle. So between the crap, dealing with what may or may not happen next, alot for a 34 year old boy and a 41 year old girl to deal with. Yes, life and death do go on. Live each day to the fullest, you never know. Mama

I’m sorry to hear about your weekend, Lynn. I don’t like hearing stories like that. The elderly rely on use to be there for them. They worked hard their whole life and then they are forgotten. I’m so sorry to hear about Nora.

No, the laundry never stops! I really think Max and Gali are playing a trick on me. I can’t possibly have this much stuff to fold!

Are they really doing the conga in your kitchen, Catwoman?

It’ really dry here. We haven’t had a good rain in at least 2 months. It rains for 2 days about 2 weeks ago, but the temps were in the 100s for weeks.

I’m afraid of spiders, I’m ok with snakes, but ants skeeve me out.

Good night, Dorie. Sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite!

    Sweet dreams…

    #62459

    Cathi,

Snakes are ok, spiders are ok – outside for both, but roaches will run me out of the room, expecially those big, black flying things they call water bugs here in TX.

LOL! I’m getting the visual of you running with your hands waving above your head!

    Sorry, don’t like roaches either.

Thanks Bobbi and Dorie, will pass the kind words to Kay, she is just trying to hang out and be here for her children. Terri and Andie, due to hit here tomorrow some time. Terri has not slept in 3 days. Between driving to get here and not leaving grammys side, she knows she needs to crash. Kay will be at the services to support the kids. Ex said if Mom wants to come to see Nora it’s ok. Son said back to dad, If Mom wants to see Gram, it’s not about you, she can come. Ok, little boy has become man. Kay wanted to remember her as she was. We have been to functions at ex’s house for years, was never a problem. Go figure that one! But now the kids are stepping up and stopping the crap. I think the ex is going to have alot of damage control to do to fix this one, and I am sure, no matter what he tries to do, something will be lost in that relationship. Too bad, took too much from your kids and now after this mess, you aren’t gonna get that back. You blew it, not taking care of your mom, they take care of theirs and can’t understand the difference. Pray for the kids, they need it the most. Thanks, Lynn
