Catwoman: I’ve heard it said that if you still have checks you can’t be overdrawn!

KW, I ruined a van engine once from not changing the oil, now I keep watch on the little sticker that tells me when I am due to have it done. I was also ripped off a few years ago when I used all of my savings and bought a used VW Passat, turned out the engine was full of sludge from the former owner’s lack of changing the oil. HIS mistake cost me over $6,000. He ripped me off royally but I believe what goes around comes around, and God will return to me what the enemy steals!

Maypo? Do they still make that stuff?? You know what I used to like? Crazy, but I liked Gerber Rice Cereal, you know the stuff you used to mix up with formula for baby’s first soft food? Don’t know why, but I did. Haven’t had it in many, many years. Can’t envision myself buying it in the grocery store. ‘Course I could always say it was for a grandkid.

Catwoman, I can honestly say that I never knew anyone having 2 furnaces, so whatever I just said, surely doesn’t apply to you!! Yes, I agree with the other ladies tonight, the men didn’t leave us with much information to deal with things, now did they, but again, they didn’t leave us with any information to begin with!! Hang in there, my girlfriends, ask and we will help! Hugs and purrs, Lynn

I often eat Pastina when I am feeling down or not well, since my mother and grandmother made it for me when I was a child and under the weather.

What a rotten thing that Passat owner did to you. He had to have known about the engine. I agree–his karma will get him.

What are some other comfort foods you like? I have always headed straight for the peanut butter and jam sandwich.

Lynn, everyone down here has 2 furnaces if the house has 2 stories. Odd, huh? It’s called “Two Zone heat.” As far as I’m concerned, it is just an additional thing to break down at great expense. If it happens I will have to move to whatever floor still has heat, since I’m broke!

Usually, I just head for something sweet. I usually have some Hershey’s miniature dark chocolate bars on hand, and I LOOOOVE ice cream. A couple of weeks ago, I made a pineapple cream pie-my most favorite pie (pecan is 2nd).

    Sweets are always a comfort…. 🙂

KW, he was a mechanic and surely knew. I brought the car to my mechanic before I bought the car and he missed it, the guy had done something to the engine so that it wouldn’t show up…added something that cloaked it temporarily? Anyway, I was so hesitant about making the decision, and explained to the seller that I was a single mother and was about to spend every cent of my savings to buy the car. (I did not want to be saddled with a car payment. Of course, I have one now with my current vehicle after buying the Passat for $8,200, putting $1500 into it to get the engine desludged, many other expensive fixes before I finally cut my losses and traded it in for $3500.)He really took advantage. I feel sorry for him when it comes back to him because he really screwed me over.

What goes around, comes around. That’s why my Daddy always taught me the Bible verse “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.

For comfort food, nothing beats chocolate or tapioca pudding. AAAhhhh….

I hope your present car is reliable, Catwoman. It is hard to trust people when they treat you this way.

Lynn, which football team are you rooting for tonight, Dallas or Chicago?

My Lions were more like pussycats today, they really took a thrashing from

    Pennsylvania.

I got a good deal on a 2004 Jeep Liberty. I had to take my choice of whatever was on the lot at the time of my trade-in. I told the dealer that the engine was shot, by the way. He said he didn’t care, he would just send it to auction either way.

I bought the full 12 month 12,000 mile warranty on EVERYTHING. Now I’m worried that the Jeep is too reliable and I will not get my investment back! Come on transmission, give out I’m covered!

Lynn, I am down south in Georgia. My first house we lived in when we got here was very modest-sized, but because there were two stories there were two furnaces. The one in the attic heats the second floor and the one in the basement or garage heats the first floor. It is much more efficient and actually saves on energy bills.

Glad you are covered if something goes wrong with the Jeep, Catwoman. Hopefully, you won’t need to use the warranty but having one gives you peace of mind.

Going to bed, gonna be a rough day tomorrow, and probably the week from h**l. Will keep you posted as best I can. Just if you could, say a prayer for Kay, her kids, the great-grandchildren so they may all have peace in Nora’s soon to be passing. God knows this is not an easy time for anyone going through this sort of thing, but as we all know, these things happen and this too, shall pass. I know that Kays kids are now looking at this is great, last grandparent gone, parents next in line. Yes, this is the way of life. Just a real shot to the heart to realize it. Kays kids dad not in good health, and they know that, so this may be a wake-up call for them. they both have issues with him, but still, reality is going to hit them after this. Hate to see the children go through this. Time and their feelings will either be their friend or their worst enemy. I pray for peace for all. Going to bed, thanks for talking, will catch up as soon as I can. Love to all and thanks from the both of us for your support and kind words. Love Lynn and Kay
