Lynn, I’ll look at a map if it turns out I’m driving up with ex instead of flying to Newark. Of course, a 13 hour drive together may end our uneasy truce. The last time we traveled by car together, back when we were married, I swore one of us would not make it past North Carolina alive!!! (I live in Georgia!!)

    Catwoman,

You are a very lucky lady.

I always got along with my ex’s sisters than I ever did with him.

Would someone tell me the story of Jerry and Chester’s house? I’ve been lurking here for more than a year but must have been absent through this part.

Ok Catwoman, see what you can do, if you drive in. If you fly, no way! Kay does the driving, but if we can work out details and if you drive, would love to see you. Will take my anxiety meds and catch up with you then! (Don’t drive away from home well) but will make all exceptions to meet TDK members! Love hugs and purrs, from the house, Lynn and Kay

Yes, Bobbi, that is so true. I loved my last boyfriend’s family better than him. It was like he wasn’t even part of that family or something. His kids were more fun than him too. He would get annoyed cause I paid more attention to them. Well, duh! They were fun and not boring!

More power to you and your ex-husband, Catwoman. You are a lucky exception to a lot of the divorcing parents that I see in court. Your kids will thank you both!

Hey Bumblebee how was your day? Hope you had a good one! Sounds like you are going to be busy again soon with faimily coming in! Enjoy, can’t have enough family around to hook up with. Hope the kittys are loving the food, even sounds good to me, short of the bag stuff!! Later, girlfriend, Love, Lynn

Lynn, I would love to meet you and Kay in person! I’ll let you know which way I am going. I am up that way about twice a year.

Jerry used to post on TDK under the name Chester. He had a cat named Chester who crossed the bridge some time ago. He was funny and caring, but he was struggling with cancer. The last time he posted was just a couple of days before he died. His friend/girlfriend looked at his computer and saw that he visited TDK on a regular basis. She posted a comment to let us know of his passing. It was a great shock to us. I believe he was in his early 50s. After much discussion, TDKers decided to find an appropriate no-kill shelter to donate money to in his name for the benefit of cats. Dee found one just a few miles from where Jerry lived in North Carolina.

    Catwoman,

I had not been on this site very long, but one of the daily bloggers was chester. Found out later his real name was Jerry and his cat was chester.

He was in and out having surgery, but always found a few minutes for TDK, and always looking on the positive side of things.

Then one day he was no longer there.

That is a wonderful story. Are there any better people on earth than those on this website? I think not. You are all the cream of the crop.

    Thank you KW,

You explained it better than I did.

Does anyone hear from Christine? Her husband, Ben, was killed in a car accident. She had little ones and was pregnant, and a vet. Maybe we could set something up in his name next?

Hopefully I got all of the names right.

I think that is a wonderful idea, Catwoman. I haven’t seen Christine post in a while. B as in Ben was such a gentle spirit. He really loved being a dad.

My day was good, busy running around on errands. The homemade food is mostly for the dog cause he won’t eat the Purina One dry. The cats like the homemade food too though. Thanks for saying the food sounds good.

Hey, is your home heated by oil/kerosene? I have to use Kerosene and it was $2.99 a gallon today. I got 2 cents off a gallon too for ordering on line. So much more than last year. You have to pay right away or beforehand for that company too.

My cousin and her hubby are only going to visit me for a few hours. They are staying in a condo or something like that for the week about 30 minutes away. They will take me out to lunch and are eager to meet me and talk with me. Sweet. I am looking forward to it.

It really is wonderful that you kept up a correspondence with your cousin. I had the pleasure of meeting some relatives at a family reunion this summer that I’d been e-mailing for several years but never met in person. It was great to see them after getting to know them online.

Catwoman, I will try to tell you a bit about Jerry. I know that others know him better than me, but when I came to this site about a year and a half ago, this man, who would post as Chester would pop in. Not daily, just every once in a while. Especially if someone was having some sort of a problem. He would put his thoughts out there (as we do) and then just dissapear for a bit. Then he would pop up, be on daily and pop out. Which is what some of us here do. One day a posting came up from Susie, who was a dear friend to him, that told us of his passing. Knowing his love of kitty’s, Dee, who posts alot of news items, had some connection to him and Susie. She mentioned an animal sancuary that was close to where he lived and contacted them to see if it would be possible to set up some kind of memorial in his name there. The lady who runs the place with her husband said she would make a home for kittens and call it Chesters Place. I found out later, he posted under his cats name. His real name was Jerry. So it has come to be, there is a plaque in this magnificent home that the kittys live in and there you have it. Thanks to Dee who started it all, and those on TDK who donated funds to have the plaque in place, our dear Jerry, has a memorial from all of us who loved him, sight unseen, and only know through words on a website. So never think you are not important. You never know who may be listening. Hope this gives you some answers, and if I am wrong with any details, please correct me. This is my post as how I remembered it. Mind does go from time to time. Hugs purrs and love, Lynn

KW, that is great you got to see these people you were emailing over the years. Cool! My cousin doesn’t care for the computer, and would rather write notes every now and then, and use pretty stickers. She has a reunion each year at her house for family, but I have never been able to go. She never had any children. Her husband has 2 from an earlier marriage.
