I had the next best thing to an authentic Philly cheese steak–it was prepared by my husband who grew up in Philadelphia! I’ve eaten the real deal when visiting his family there so I know what they are supposed to taste like. The only thing we can’t duplicate is the bread. I think it’s the water in Philadelphia.

I’m taking a trip to NJ in October for my ex-husband’s grandmother’s 90th birthday bash. She is in Lakewood. Can’t decide whether to fly into Newark or go along with my ex-husband for the drive, which would then include a day with my (ex) sister-in-law in West Chester, PA. She is the best hostess EVER and a great friend. Any of my PA TDK buddies close to West Chester?

    Time to par-tey, Bobbi!

We’ve got plenty of fixings for the Philly cheese steak, Catwoman, so we’ll leave the light on. You can walk right in when you get here.

It’s so nice that you have a friendly relationship with your ex-husband and ex sister-in-law. Especially when you are co-parenting a child. What is your secret?

That’s what I yelled to our manager when she left earlier. She’s even offered to buy the pizza.

I got this email from Betty, Jerry’s mom today. Wanted to share it with you all.

Linda we went last sat. and saw chesters house and it was real nice we got to talk to the woman that runs the place it was a real nice and clean we are so proud of it and want to thank all of you for making it possiable i am doing ok hope you are to.

I am so glad she got a chance to see Jerry’s gift from the TDK family and got to see the kitty’s in his home and to tour the facility. God Bless this dear lady, I can only imagine what went through her mind and heart when she saw the plaque and the home. I know she knows, that her son was muched loved by us all. Thanks to all for making this contribution that made a woman who had no idea of her son’s passion for cats would go everywhere and her son had someone to talk to. To her, his life lives on through the generosity of you all. Lets make this happen to others who need help. God forbid, that it would be in the way of someone passing, but to know that many of us out here, do things to help kitty’s in any way we can. If you need help, contact the TDK fund on the left hand side of the main page and let us know your needs. We will help as much as we can.

    Hugs purrs and love, Lynn

    Catwoman,

You mentioned that you collect bee items. I have a girlfriend who buys me bee items when she sees them. I have all sorts of things.

KittenWhisperer, I have no idea. If you had suggested while I was unhappily married that we would get along after our divorce I would have called you crazy. (The ex-husband, I mean.) My sister-in-law has been a great friend throughout my marriage and we have had a lot of laughs together, so why would it change? Also, the breakup did not involve another outside person, and though it has been a few years neither my ex or I have dated anyone else. I think the dynamic of an outsider would probably change everything. This has been great for the kids, much better than the constant fighting of our marriage. We actually all go out to dinner together often. (My sons are 20, 19 and 10.)

    Kitten Whisperer,

Sorry it took so long to reply but I had to do tomorrows lunches for 4.

as of right now we have 5 post cards and yours is the furthest away! I know more will be coming in because my TDK family won’t let me down!

any how I must say good night because I have some ironing to do for work tomorrow and youngest son insists on wearing tomorrow a button up shirt that’s a wrinkled mess.

    Peace and Good Night all

Catwoman, I live in Doylestown, probably about an hour or so away from west chester, but don’t quote me, not good at this. Any chance we could meet somewhere? Let me know. Love, hugs and purrs, Lynn

Thanks so much for sharing the e-mail from Betty. Most of the time you never hear about the impact of a kindness on its recipient. I know that Jerry must be smiling in heaven!

Hey there my Pa. buddy! Glad to see you checked in. Sorry you are tired from the game last night.

Thanks for sharing the email with us. How wonderful Jerry’s mom was able to visit and see the plaque and all. Bless her heart.

I agree, anything anyone can do for a cat in any small way is auch a blessing!!
