We have the dubious honor in Eugene, OR of being the location for the filming of “Animal House.” I know a couple of people who were extras in that movie.

ParticipantWe here in Michigan have the great honor of having had a movie filmed up at Mackinac Island – “Somewhere in Time”, with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. It was my mom’s favorite movie (and music) and became mine, too.
It’s such a tear jerker. Anybody ever see it?

ParticipantGood for you Neenie! Was very selfish in my younger years, have realized that if you give away what you can, you feel pretty d**m good! I grow veggies in pots, since we live in a mobile home park and don’t own the land. I have given away most of my produce to a family up the road with 4 kids all summer long. Spend probably $200 or more to set it up and we use a bit, but don’t need all the tomatoes, peppers, scallions, cucs, that I grow. What a kick to get a kiss and a hug from the lady and her telling me that she can’t keep her 6 year old son away from the basil,he justs sniffs and sniffs the bag! I don’t care, it’s what I do. I love helping people and what good would it do to have the produce rotting. Give it away, it will come back to you. If not in word, but in deed. And I think, someone hookked me up here those years ago and maybe this is what my payment is. Never would have done this. Very cautious about idenity theft, very mistrusting of computers and websites. When no bad things happened 6 months after being on here, I thought, Ok. good to go. Yes it has been good to go and a very pleasant ride. Hugs and purrs.
17 September, 2007 at 1:37 am #59070ParticipantI adored him. When he had his horsebackriding accident, he was hospitalized at the UVA (University of Virginia) hospital in Charlottesville VA. I was there a couple days after that happened to visit my sister, who had just had her first baby. I sent him a card in the hospital, and later got a thank you from the family. What a loss! And the loss of his wife was so sad, too.

“Service is the rent you pay for the air you breathe.” It says to me that one shouldn’t do good works with any expectation of recognition, reward or anything in return. One should do them because it is the way human beings should treat one another. Good job with all you are doing for others on TDK and elsewhere!

When they see me coming, especially on triple coupon days, as was today, the head clerk just comes over and stands at the register. She knows she’s gonna need the key, to get out of my mess! Sometimes they see me coming on a normal day and stand guard. Gotta love having that kind of control over the store!! Acme, the other one today, is bigger, but I have my ladies that I go to their line. Phone always goes off, cause I have too many coupons or too many freebies and it locks up the computer! Gotta love it there too! really ticks off the people behind me. I bag my own when I can, Baggers don’t have a clue, do not put canned goods on top of produce or meat. Would like to serve the roast not flattened if you don’t mind. Used to have a lady I would love to play with. She would start to check me out, I would bag. Always done before she could get the coupons off. Been offered jobs at 4 stores as a bagger. Work full time, don’t need it but love the competition! Hugs and purrs.

Finished up the cookies, did the dishes, now doing laundry and watched a bit of TV. Nothing special, just jumping around the channels while I iced my back. Was hurting bad…always afraid to get laid up again and have no income…. :[ I went into the lower cabinate to get out my little chopper for the nuts and all the plastic bags fell out. The cats have been having a ball with them as well as the jingle ball. I had two big bags of clothes to wash and the cats are now enjoying the bags. They are SO CUTE! Gavin came up on my lap as I was icing my back. He is such the love. He just melts my heart BIG TIME!! Awwww… also have to share that since it was a bit chilly this morning, all 4 cats were snuggles up to me in bed. Awwww….

He carefully looks over the sales and clips the double coupon or the $10.00 off a purchase of $50.00 or more. He can pinpoint how much he’s purchased within a couple of dollars in his head and buys just enough to get to use the extra $10.00 off coupon. I just stand there shaking my head in amazement. We are lucky that our Albertsons store honors compeditors coupons so we don’t have to go to more than one store to use them all.

I haven’t had any time to read the comments yet. I was reading the first page bottom and didn’t even realize there are “3” pages now! That’s great everyone is out here visiting!!! I just love this place!!! I look forward to coming each day and think about things I’d like to share, etc. Something I read, etc. It is nice to have people actually care about what I say.
