The camping trip was fun other than Late Friday night into Saturday early afternoon It Rained and Rained and Rained and I/we were in a tent. I bought a huge tarp and we put it up Friday night so we did get a little wet from the rain going under the tent! My niece who’s 7 was with us and was sleeping on a pool air mattress she floated (Only Kidding) It was pretty bad but the sun came out and we went to the laundry mat and dried all the wet stuff! I met up with friends who moved 2 years ago to north Carolina, They have the cutest puppy. He’s golden retriever and basset hound mix. I almost stole him!!

Hi M& M’s Mom…I got it,but was running out the door to do errands. Those coupons…are they the “Buy one,get one free” from Friskies? What kind of food do you feed your fuzzy’s? If I can get the man/friend to get his but up(highly unlikely)we were going back into town in his truck. I don’t drive my car into town at night for fear of being pulled over. No money for smog-testing right now & although it’s registered at DMV,I have no tags on it,& I was pulled over once & the nice officer let me go w/a warning. If we don’t get back early,& you’ve already gone beddy-bye,I’ll send you an e-mail anyways so you’ll get it in the morn. It’s weird to think that it’s 9:00p.m.out your way already.

Sounds like the rain didn’t dampen your spirits any. It must have been nice to meet up with old friends. I haven’t camped out since I was a kid. We did it every summer. It was quite a production with a family of eight. My poor mother worked very hard putting hot meals together for us over the campfire while the kids all played.

Oooohhh…I haven’t had peanut butter cookies in years. Yummmmmm. When I was a kid my mom would let me do the fork marks on the dough before they were put in the oven.

Hi, Susie. Did your mom let you lick the mixing spoon or the beaters from the mixer when she was finished with them? Those are some good memories! Of course now, we are cautioned not to eat anything with raw egg in it.

Day was very busy, KW. Went grocery shopping, now this is another thing that drives Kay crazy! I am a coupon clipper and I look over all the flyers in my area. Have 4 major stores within 5-10 minutes of my home. Today I spent $135 for what was $250 or so in grocerys, between sales and coupons. Not that we need it, only 2 of us. I buy food to send to Kay’s daughter in Missisissippi who runs a camp. They take care of the poor in the state. MS is the poorest state in the US. People come to the camp and ask if they have food. I send a box every 2 weeks, more if I can. One of the perks of my job. So I stock up on cannned goods, very heavy to send, try to do more hamberger helper, rices, noodles and such. Send goodies too, fruit roll-ups granola bars, popcorn. Send also, mustard, ketchup BBQ sauce, cause they hold functions and they need staples too. Dogs and cats in the house, always have food sent in the package along with treats. Send tastykakes to Terri, cause she loves them, only problem now they do too! I have now today, bought enough food to feed us and our cats and those in MS for the next 2 months. Alot of work, yea, so rewarding, you bet!! God always said, give what you can, I will come back to you. Maybe not God said that, heard it somewhere. Trust me it has. Anything for my daughter. You ask, if I can, I will. As we talk, you will probably see our differences. Do not, take Kay to the grocrery store! Not a good thing. So I do this, she cleans! Works for me! Works for her! Hugs and purrs.

A very few people are susceptible to problems from raw eggs….mostly AIDS infected people and the very old and young. The rest of us are okay to indulge. 🙂

I grew up camping too. We spent our whole summer at a campsite in Tannersville NY. With my cousins (One who came camping this weekend with me) My Dad and Uncles would come up on the weekends. I am 1 of 4, My one Aunt has 6 kids and the other 8, so Moms took turns cooking, For the crew. I always loved when my Aunt with 8 kids cooked (Still Do) she lives in Tannersville now and I visit her often

    Hey Neenie-

How’s it going? I just looked at your bio and it says you’re from Evansville, Indiana. My sister and her husband live in Jasper, not too far away. When we visited one time, they tooks us over to Evansville and showed us where the filmed the movie “A League of their Own”, then we watched fireworks there. (Must have been 4th of July week). We’ll have to plan to meet when I visit them next time.

Neenie, cookies good! Thanks for taking care of us! Dorie, sorry you got wet, but glad you had a good time! Wow KW, your parents really took 8 of you camping?? Poor lady, she had my most utmost admiration! And yes, all of your out there with kids, we licked the spoon many years ago, I would not recommend it now. But what a lovely memory! Hugs and purrs.

That’s reassuring information, neenie. None of the six kids in my family ever became ill from our dough eating treat.

Lynn, you did an amazing job with your sales and coupons. My husband is a coupon clipping freak. He always shows me the receipt when he comes back from the store. It tells you how much you saved with the coupons both in dollar amount and percentage. Pretty impressive sometimes. I think the store clerks cringe when they see him coming through their checkstands with a full cart and a fistful of coupons. 🙂

KW, I applaud your husband for doing that and saving money. However, I don’t every want to get behind him in the checkout line.

M&M’s: The Ballpark where they filmed A League Of Their Own is actually an Historical landmark here. Not to mention that the film makes me leak around the eyes evey time I watch it. lol
