Hi all. I am a newbie to this site and to raising such a young kitten. She was found 3 days ago and from what i can tell she may have been 3 days at that time. Her eyes are still closed and she tries to get around.
She is still giving me issues about taking the bottle but she does latch on after a little persistence.
My question is is it normal for her to cry after feeding? I will feed her until she stops then she will cry. Ive gotten into a pattern of feeding her letting her cry then trying to feed her again. Sometimes she does eat again then she will cry again. I dont want to over feed her because I really dont know if shes crying because shes still hungry. Also, she is purrung while she does all this. A feeding for her can last an hour or more because of this routine. We are holding and loving on her while we do all this.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi JenDave,

    Hi Allison,

Welcome to TDK land and thank you for rescuing this kitten. Raising a newborn has its challenges but many rewards. I would recommend getting Goats’ Milk. It has probiotics and is gentler on tummies. It’s cheaper than KMR.

I’m giving you the go to links that we use for our kits.

Generally speaking, kittens that age are crying for 1) she’s still hungry but needs burping, 2) she needs to potty, or 3) she needs to snuggle. I would get her a squishy toy for her to snuggle with in her box. It will comfort her.

Please read these links. If you have any more concerns or questions please don’t hesitate to ask us.

baby kittens need to be fed with their feet under them and their back to the sky. do not hold them like a human baby while feeding them. good luck…

Thanks for the replies. I think she’s a lot older than I thought just really tiny. She’s getting around really well and I think I feel teeth coming in on top in front. Only thing is her eyes are still shut. I’ve had her for 4 days. All sites I’ve been to have slightly different opinions on what happens at what age sooooo….yeah. 🙂
