Hey guys, the sickness in the house is finally getting better and we are finally litter box training. This should have been done a month ago, but they got sick before they got the hang of it. And they didn’t have much control of their bowels so there wasn’t much point in trying to train them when they couldn’t hold it. A few are catching on pretty quick, but a couple seem to be terrified of it.

My main concern is Maggie. She was the one that had problems awhile back and went to the vet. I nursed her back to health and now she is very clingy and needy. She is either starving, dying of thirst, or very very lonely (according to her). I have food and water out for the kittens constantly, and there are other kittens to cuddle with. But, she is never satisfied unless she is sleeping right next to my head. Now, i love kittens, they are my world, and I don’t mind cuddling with them when I am relaxing. But maggie, she screams at me when I have to get up and do something where she cant cuddle with me anymore. I worry about her getting adopted when she is very needy, people love to cuddle with kittens, but she is so annoying when she is not cuddling. Does anyone know anything about kitten psychology and how I can help here be not so independent on me?

I have heard of putting little stuffed animals in with kittens, also a ticking clock that mimics mamma’s heartbeat. She may grow out of it after she gets healthy. She may just feel insecure without you with her, or it could just be her personality. Or maybe she will be a “foster fail” and end up being your little kitten! 😉

    Hi Rachel,

How is wee Maggie doing? I meant to comment earlier about helping her out. When I brought LilBit home, he was all of 3 weeks old and Miss Gaea wasn’t having anything to do with him. He stayed in the spare room when I wasn’t home. I gave him two stuffed animals so he could snuggle in and also, a soft, snuggly blanket. I put the blanket in my bed so he had my scent. He has done great and still loves his snuggly blanket.

Good luck-I’m sure wee Maggie will come around.

    PG
