My 2 1/2 months old male Persian kitten Rustam is really playful.. Day before yesterday he got his 1st vaccination shot (feline PCR) whole day he was fine, running around and playing as usual.. Yesterday whole day he was lethargic, was sneezing and didn’t eat or drink.. Today also whole day he just kept sleeping, it’s 3:00 am, usually his time to freak out but he is sleeping and I am awake worried.. It’s been 2 and a half days! I know, after vaccination shot, kittens get a little fever and are lethargic, but is it normal for it to last for almost 3 days??? Today I gave him a little milk that he hardly drank, wet food that he kept eating for good 5-6 mins but barely ate anything.. This is my first cat experience, so I am just freaking out, my vet says it’s normal, but since it’s almost 3 days, and also this started the next day after vaccination not the same day, so I am just freaking out.. Please help!

Kittens can be out of sorts after their vaccinations but I would maybe get your vet to look at hi. Again.. Days off food isn’t ideal so I’d bring him into the vet again to put your mind at rest..

Thanks @buttons for replying back.. He seems better right now, from yesterday.. Ate a little food on his own, but still very lethargic, I’ll give him chicken soup in a while and some wet cat food in another meal, he is not eating the dry food.. Have him a little water through a syringe… Will watch him today and will go see the vet tomorrow.. I have two kittens, this one is Rustam, he is a blue Persian and the other one is a white traditional Persian, Romeo..

Ah your other two sound lovely 🙂

It’s great he’s eating a little food that should help with his energy levels.. It’s sounds like your doing all you can so I’m sure he’ll come around soon..

I went to see the vet, he took his temperature and it’s normal, so he didn’t give him any medicine for fever, and said he is not lethargic because of vaccination and may be it is stress. He just gave a tablet for lose motions, but while coming back he vomited in my car, I called the vet again he said not to give him anything for 1 hr and then give him food and medicine for lose motions.. I hope I am doing what’s right and I hope my buddy would be fine and running around soon.. Have lost a 7 month old Great Dane in past, he showed no symptoms of severe ill health, was lethargic for two days and then just collapsed.

nasar ji…. the best thing you can do is keep him hydrated, keep him comfortable, and watch his reactions. If he doesn’t get better after a couple days, or he starts to get worse, especially if he starts getting worse quickly….rush back to the vet. and keep us posted too!
