Now I know it isn’t Christmas yet, but I can’t help but feel that in context this was a Christmas miracle that was a little early.
So poor baby Otter has been having a rough time with diarrhea. It’s been hard to keep him clean and poop free. So I went on the hunt for canned pumpkin today. My first stop was Target, and as much as I like Target, it failed me, as all they had was pie mix and yams ): So I headed over to Fred Meyers, which is like an area specific Walmart with better business practices. I searched up and down the canned vegetables, organics, and baking isles, at least 3 times to no avail. I picked up a can of yams with the intent to see if they would have a similar effect.
Dejected, I walked over to self checkout when I noticed a woman holding a jug of Egg Nog. If you knew me in real life, you know I have an obsession with egg nog. I buy at least 3 gallons after the holiday seasons so I can enjoy it longer. Yes, I can knock down that much before it expires. So I fast walked over to the milk section and grabbed that wonderful red carton. I remembered thinking I should check around the fresh vegetables to see if they have a puree, or a cheap pumpkin I could puree myself. No dice. I had given up. I would have to deal with Otters stool, and he would have to hang in there for a little while longer until I could get to another, bigger, store. I walked back towards checkout, and even with egg nog in hand, I wasn’t happy. That’s when I saw it… A beautiful yellow can labled ‘Organic Pumpkin’. It would not have surprised me if it had a gold aura. I believe Christmas has come early for me my friends.
Needless to say, I walked out of that store with an ear to ear grin.
