Now I know it isn’t Christmas yet, but I can’t help but feel that in context this was a Christmas miracle that was a little early.

So poor baby Otter has been having a rough time with diarrhea. It’s been hard to keep him clean and poop free. So I went on the hunt for canned pumpkin today. My first stop was Target, and as much as I like Target, it failed me, as all they had was pie mix and yams ): So I headed over to Fred Meyers, which is like an area specific Walmart with better business practices. I searched up and down the canned vegetables, organics, and baking isles, at least 3 times to no avail. I picked up a can of yams with the intent to see if they would have a similar effect.

Dejected, I walked over to self checkout when I noticed a woman holding a jug of Egg Nog. If you knew me in real life, you know I have an obsession with egg nog. I buy at least 3 gallons after the holiday seasons so I can enjoy it longer. Yes, I can knock down that much before it expires. So I fast walked over to the milk section and grabbed that wonderful red carton. I remembered thinking I should check around the fresh vegetables to see if they have a puree, or a cheap pumpkin I could puree myself. No dice. I had given up. I would have to deal with Otters stool, and he would have to hang in there for a little while longer until I could get to another, bigger, store. I walked back towards checkout, and even with egg nog in hand, I wasn’t happy. That’s when I saw it… A beautiful yellow can labled ‘Organic Pumpkin’. It would not have surprised me if it had a gold aura. I believe Christmas has come early for me my friends.

Needless to say, I walked out of that store with an ear to ear grin.

Now you can sup egg nog while the pumpkin does it’s magic on Otter’s interior.

Everything has it reason and that egg nog was put there so you would pass the organic pumpkin.

Exactly! That’s why I think it is an awesome little miracle (: I love when things fall into place. Otter is happy with his new concoction and is napping with Cloud on the couch (:

Thank you! Otter is looking less cuddly now that he is tasting solid food, he has crustiness all over his paws and stomach from walking around in his food XD

Heh heh, I was surprised there wasn’t a choir of angels singing in the background as well!! Know how it feels though, I was so relieved when we got Dave some treatment for his little visitors and he finally settled down bless him.

LOL, I can just picture it, too!

I put pumpkin in Glen Jr’s food for a while, and he loved it!

I now have a strange craving for eggnog!

It was wonderful! I thought I was going to have to clean a poopy kitten everyday until his intestines could process the food. Cloud likes pumpkin too, which is nice :3 I finished all my eggnog!

He has chosen the litterbox most of the time now (: And Cloud’s intestines have been helped by pumpkin. It really is a miracle food!

That’s wonderful news! I think while kittens are weaning, there’s about a 2-week period where the easiest way to clean them is immersion in a warm bath, drawn in the kitchen sink, followed by thorough drying off and cuddling in a series of hand towels. Initially, they don’t “get” that the stuff they’re walking through is food – and they’re often so insistently hungry that it’s hard to get them to understand that not all food comes in a bottle, like they’ve always known. Much easier to transition to kitten formula in a saucer, and then slowly mix food in (along with pumpkin, when necessary). Glad to hear he’s getting the hang of the litterbox, too!
