The little brat disappeared while I was washing dishes. I was searching all over, I could hear him cry on occasion, but the sound kept moving. I’m starting to get a little hysterical by this point, afraid he’d crawled up into the recliner again and I wouldn’t be able to get him out without injury. Then I moved the furniture out and found the heating vent cover pulled out of the floor. I just about had a fit. We lost a cat in Nov when she pulled the vent cover up and went exploring the duct work. She crawled into our electric furnace and died, probably electrocuted. We had screwed the covers down to prevent her going in the duct work because she liked messing around in them, but we missed one. Another cat loves to pull the covers up also but he’s too big to go exploring. I was afraid Biscuit had fallen in. After 4/5 hours of crying and calling, Biscuit is too small to get out of the ducts on his own, I was flashing a lighted cat toy into the ducts… I was in a panic. He had quit making noise for a couple hours, I told myself he was napping. He finally made a noise that I happened to be close enough to figure out where he was. He’d crawled behind then under my refrigerator! He’s asleep on my shoulder now, and my husband is going to screw the covers down again. Thanks for listening, needed to whine to other cat people about my scare. I was supposed to make a somewhat complicated meal after I did my dishes, but that’s not happening till tomorrow now. I’m exhausted, but happy now.

    Good Morning Critterlover,

Welcome to TDK land! You came to the right place for all things kittens/cats. I know the fear you felt about wee Biscuit. They are sooo tiny and curious…It’s best to keep your boy in an area where he can’t get out and/or in danger. He may think he needs to explore the whole house RIGHT NOW but he’ll to do that soon enough.

We all need to vent once in awhile or daily. 😉

Warm welcome to TDK CL & newbie kit!
Agree w/PG. Keep kit confined to 1 are for now until gets accustomed to home & grows a bit!
(Did the same for have 3 once feral kits – one room to start w/food, litter, bed & toys.)
Won’t take too long ’til has reign of the place! 😉
