Morning all!! Tea sounds lovely, maybe a scone or to also!! CM – I always thought God made us pregnant for one month too long!!! both times with my children, the last month seemed sooooo long !! But like you said, so worth it!!! My second one came so much faster than my first, almost didn’t make it to the hospital!!! When we finally did, there was no time for epitdural, drugs or anything!! Two pushes, and daughter was here!! I had totally natural childbirth (not by choice) LOL!! Be ready! And by the way, I Love her name (Abbie!!!)))) Pika – blessings and good luck to you, it’s hard to be patient, but keep up the hope…. I believe it will happen for you. We took our family for a visit to the UK three years ago. It was truly one of the best vacations we have ever taken. Flew into London, and drove – went the the site of Camelot; Stonehenge; Bath; drove up to Liverpool and did the whole Beatles thing (Daughter is a huge fan); stood on Hadrians’ wall; then to Edinburgh; on to St. Andrews (watched Tiger win the British open); on to Loch Ness; back to Edinburgh; and then back down thru numerous little towns – Shakesspear’s home, Mary Queen of Scots castle; I don’t have time to tell all. Took us three weeks, and we absolutely loved it! Was really an amazing history lesson to us all. Hope we get back there again. I have a cousin who married a guy from Oxford, so we visited them!

Howdy everyone! It’s snowing here in SW Michigan, the beginning of a couple of days of I think lake-effect snow. For those who don’t know what that is… the Great Lakes have an interesting effect to the south and west. Michigan, Ohio, and New York can get major snows as cold winds pass over the relatively warm water of the Great Lakes. Clouds pick up more moisture, pass over the cold land, and WHAM! We get belts or lines of lake-effect snows that can dump 10″ in short order. It’s weird… you can have sunshine and blue skies and five minutes later, visibility is zero and the snow’s whirling around your car. Look up and you can see… blue sky! ARGH! It’s wild.

    I’m back!

The secretary is coming over any minute and since she’s going to work at the office where this computer is, I probably won’t be on for a while.

As for my schedule, I can’t keep doing it, either – I’m getting too run down 🙁

anyone have a suggestion for a small inexpensive gift for a lady who just retired. i am invited to a retirement reception later today, i have a card, but would like to add a small gift (just a few dollars, my budget is a disaster till payday) – i thought of a fancy bookmark. any other thoughts. i don’t know her interests, she is more of a coworker type friend. thanks for any suggestions. bobby

AV thanks for your kind words. patience is a virtue and all that! sounds like you had a busy 3 weeks in the UK! i am ashamed to say i haven’t seen some of the places you have seen! not made a trip to scotland yet. but certainly hope to do so soon.

sounds like it much colder in parts of the US, we are lucking in SW england, rarely gets that cold.

    Morning, all!

I didn’t want to come to work today, for lots of reasons, but most of all because George and I had a really good weekend, lots of snuggling, no biting, yay! And then this morning, I was woken up by a purring kitty. Somehow the bedroom door got left open (at least I hope so – heaven help us if he’s developed opposable thumbs), and he came to let me know it was breakfast time. But he didn’t meow or attack me, just purred in my face until I woke up. It was nice.

GD, I hope your cold or whatever it was goes away fast.

thanks pika, that’s an idea. i’ll see if i can find something nice at maybe barnes and nobles, unfortunately price will play a roll in my selection. i wish it weren’t so, when i worked fulltime, that was never a factor, but now that i’m semiretired it makes all the difference.

Pika – Scotland is one of my favorite places on earth! especially the highlands, reminds me very much of North Caroline – absolutely beautiful!!

Poochi – how about a gift certificate – like to Barnes & Noble or something. They’re perfect to slip in a card.

av thanks, a very good idea. only thing is i have to keep the cost down to 5 dollars or so, it’s a bit embarassing, but i really am low on funds till payday, thank goodness it’s only two days away. b and n certainly comes in handy for gifts, it is one of my most favorite places to shop, or used to be, back in the days when i had a fulltime job.

I’m late to breakfast, again. Any Chai tea left???

My tile will be grouted today ! WHOOO HOOO!!! I’ll spend the 4-day holiday weekend painting the walls, scraping old paint and painting the doors and drawer fronts. Then I’m sure I’ll find another project.. LOL

Pika – been where you are! Endometriosis, one functional side left post-surgery and I have 2 boys – well, men. They are now 24 and 25.

Thanks for the tea… yummy !!

I admit, Pika, it was a long road and lots of medications (ick) post surgery to make it happen. But the 2nd one was quicker and easier than the first. LOL Endometriosis is one of those goofy diseases that the best cure is pregnancy.. which of course can’t happen because of the disease. Very frustrating. Hang in there Pika ! Lots of white light and positive energies flowing your way.
