    Nighty-night Buttons!
What’s this with everyone’s I’Net going whack! And on opposite sides of the pond! Mine’s OK, better not say that too loud. After this wonderful day am thinking that the elves/brownies/whatever must have suddenly taken an interest in KJ. Parcel won’t be in ’til Wed earliest, “too bad, so sad” as probable attitude of Canada Post although they seemed sympathetic, but calling post person and getting them to make a personal re-try at delivery wasn’t an option, even though I suggested it LOL. How fun it must be to get paid to not do one’s job. Bottom line is that in all this fracas none of it is even close to end of the world and Dorry didn’t get into anything dangerous. Note to self: leave milk and bread outside door as stay on good side of elvin folk. Oops forgot – new rule as not allowed to leave anything in hallway, so no welcome mat here. But a virtual welcome anyway!

Snuck back in for a quick peek.. Glad I did 🙂 hey MS… Hope it’s a multi butterfly day 🙂 I bet HRH is lazing somewhere..oh yes I remember those leg climbing days .. I’m lucky the only cat that used to do it was Lady Muck Buttons knew he wasn’t able to so never really tried .. But my god the scares I’d be left with from Lady Muck were pretty bad!

KJ don’t stare into those eyes too long or you might see the fairy kingdom ( old Irish tale about kitty’s eyes ) oh and he shed his first whisker today so I put it with all of Buttons whiskers by the Bast statue .. At least I have lots of Buttons old whiskers so I feel like I still have a part of him around ..

Oh great here come the tears again 🙁

I’ll have a good cry with you Buttons, I used to tickle Nicky with his whiskers when they fell out and sometimes do same with Dorry. Now why would seeing into fairy kingdom be a bad thing? ‘Cause I might get entranced and return in like 900 years give or take? LOL. As long as someone pays my bills and looks after Dorry.

Hi. Been peeking into the cafe today…another busy day here. Emily made me think of the TDK “thing” about putting kitties in knapsacks when she did this…

She was thinking about climbing in that backpack. :).

Good to see everyone doing well. Glad Dorry didn’t get into string, KJ. And Mr. Noodle’s eyes are lovely. :).

Too cute ECB! Don’t carry backpacks so much, but still have them. Might come in handy if I see Noodle in Café and get someone to quickly distract Buttons so I can make quick getaway thru wormhole! Speaking of TDK trads would like to use whack bonk stick on Canada Post person too lazy to ring doorbell, figuratively as non-violent except when it comes to verbal battles LOL.

Buttons, your wish has come true. In the short time I was outside hanging out the washing another butterfly has hatched. 🙂
Awwwww, his first whisker! Having outdoor/indoor cats means I have seldom seen a shed whisker. Precisely one in decades of being a cat owner.
    Sweet dreams Buttons.
    KJ, avert your gaze!

Lovely image MS. Any possibility of pics of the flutterbies fluttering about? Believe that in my version of that “Up the airy mountain, down the rushing glen…” poem teensy fairies rode on butterflies. 🙂

Oh yay more butterflies MS ! Always wondered does HRH chase them 🙂
I never throw away any whiskers I find many are Buttons the smaller ones are Nutini’s and would you believe I’ve also got at least two or three of Bobs gigantic whiskers too even though he’s an outdoor boy 🙂 you can’t miss them they’re the ones that are 4-5 inches longs and have brown on the tips.. I normally gave some to the fairies at the fairy fort in the field beside where we’re going to build but these whiskers will stay with me from now on .. Going to see if I can do anything with them as a memorial.. I do have a very old silver and glass antique keep sake pendant from the 18th century that I could try to open and place buttons whiskers in there so they’ll be close to my heart ..

ECB that pic is priceless .. I would love to have a cat that wasn’t scared Of anything and would stay put in the rucksack we could go for walks 🙂

Would love to put Dorry in knapsack but would eventually be “letting the cat out of the bag” literally as he even squirms when I pick him up, he’s that sort of boy cat! Supposedly they do have strollers covered with netting for cats but I think not for me, and Dorry would be beyond embarrassed.

KJ, that is one of my favourite childhood poems. I still have the poetry book with it and many other wonderful poems.
I could take photos of the butterflies but they don’t really fly about, they just hang around gripping their empty chrysalis while they puff their wings up and gather strength for flying. Once they have had enough ‘drying’ time I pop them outside on a tree and leave them too it.

Lol at Dorry being embarrassed to be in a cat stroller. It is sort undignified and most cats do like to retain their dignity.

I’d seen you describing the butterfly process, MS, but didn’t realize you were “hatching” them in your house. Cool.

Wish I had the book MS, could probably order it. Loved it, esp how it continues “we daren’t go a-hunting for fear of little men” and “they took little Bridget for seven years long and when they brought her back again her friends were all gone”, or something like that, strange how I remember. Buttons, you have a fairy fort, and bring gifts to them? Neat. If you ever want to read GR8 book about a family’s generational relationship/pact with fairies check out “Little, Big” by John Crowley. Had to read it several times before I felt close to understanding it, ie “the further in you go the bigger it gets”. Strange but truly magical, considered an epic work of fantasy genre. OK, must try to recoup what’s left of day as organizing something that can be sorta classified as dinner and getting set for tomorrow, being my own personal instructor for spin class as per last week’s holiday LOL.

    A fourth butterfly has hatched.
Buttons, HRH doesn’t chase them, she knows she isn’t allowed to or Meowmy will be growly.
KJ, I went to check on my children’s poetry book on the book shelf and it wasn’t there ! Oh no! It will be somewhere in the house. I think it was titled Poems to Read Aloud and has so many wonderful poems like Godfrey Gordon Gustavus Gore, The Owl and the Pussy Cat etc. It used to get used every Christmas for the reading of T’was the Night Before Christmas for KK’s daughter miniKK until she grew out of it.
ECB, chuckling at Emily checking out the backpack. Was she looking for goodies or thinking of stowing away I wonder.
Off to hunt for my poetry book.

Evening all! … Oh, I love all the cat/fairey stories ….. maybe they leave whiskers behind as a rememberance …. Buttons, that’s so sweet to think of Button’s whiskers in a locket next to your heart!

…. MS, yay for the butterflies! ….. I do have a number of them around here, but I don’t know where their coocoons are – probably in the oak trees that line our streets …… they do love to flit around the red flowering bush right outside my kitchen window…..fun to watch!

…. short week for use here in the US, the 4th is Friday, so everything will be shut down for a long weekend…… Downtown has a big celebration, so we’ll be able to see the fireworks show from our porch …. no really big plans, probably just grill out and enjoy the sights/sounds…..
