Great pics, looks so much fun! still rainy here, and muggy …. however, that didn’t deter Big Sal, his bright orange face was at the door for brekkie and a little a bit ago for lunch …. Abby is having a good day!

… busy here for me, best get back at things! later all!

I like jean skirts, KJ. But haven’t had one in years. I’m with team capri pant….so comfy. I’m always saying “poor you” to hubby because men can’t wear capris or 3/4 length sleeves. That 3-4 inch gap for skin exposure makes such a HUGE difference in temperature. I love 3/4 sleeves in the winter, but go almost exclusively sleeveless in the summertime (another thing men can’t do…unless they’re at the gym.) Love, love, love a sleeveless top.

Beauty of a day here…took a mini walk. Now it’s time to hide out on TDK patio for a few.

It is hot…95! Tomorrow we’re getting a cold wave and temps. will be in the high 80s. Wee! Of course, there is nary a drop of rain anywhere. The plants and grass that looked so nice after our Spring rains are dry and dry.

Thanks for the link KJ. They are all precious but my fave is the wee gray kittah on the pillows.

Too sweet that Miss Abby and her guy, Big Sal, having noms and playtime.

Are you thinking of fostering 7 wk. old kit, JK?

That Italian soup is called Pasta e Fagioli, BB.

Shout out to MS and KM for helping on the uploading pics issues. Much appreciated.

Ha – love Calvin & Hobbs, thanks JK. Looks like lots of fun in Brewtown this weekend, nice!
Yummy recipe, BB. Would like to give it a try in cooler weather. There’s a soup thread, maybe you can copy it to there. MS might be tempted to give it a try now since she’s pretty chilly these days.
Jean skirts, forgot all about them. Have had a few over the years in varying lengths and comfort levels. Some denim is so stiff and never really softens up, others are oh so comfy from day one.
Lots of clouds today, but no rain. On the crest of a heat wave though, temps in mid 80s today and expected to be mid 90s for the rest of the week.
Took a walk down the end of my dead end street. There are 2 empty houses and it looks like one is being worked on. The other is in total disrepair. It does have a really cool stone garage that’s covered in ivy, which I wanted to get a picture of. When I dared to go closer, I discovered miscellaneous stuff inside. Among what’s mostly garbage is a cat carrier. Wonder if someone who hasn’t been there in at least a decade would miss it.

This place looks awesome. Wonder what it would look like with real people living in it. You know, people with varying amounts of paperwork, hobbies and oh yeah, cats!

Hmmm…Joan, I would say if the property is now abandoned maybe the cat carrier could find a new home: Reuse, Recycle – Rehome!

It’s warm/humid around here today too…only to heat up even more this week!

    Must share:
    cats do something NO
Think the café kits have the best idea on a warm afternoon!

Still more to do before can exit out of this place…back to desk!

Thanks JK, that’s what I was thinking. Would go back better prepared, long pants, gloves and body pre-treated with bug repellant – got chewed on quite a bit for the few minutes I was there.

Oh and those 2 kitties doing nothing? I predict laziest slapfight ever coming on! “Stop touching me!” “You stop touching me!”

Winding down here, had some work to proof and got it done ahead of deadline. Feel like joining those 2 cutie kitties for a quick catnap. Looks like it’s going to pour in a sec, but ya never know from one moment to the next. Once I’m in A/C I totally forget the steam heat but it’s a sauna outside.
Sounds silly but think/hope that I might have saved a creepy crawly today. Saw a beetle lying on its back with legs kicking, so with tip of sandal gently turned it over, looked like it could move again. Wonder which of the Fab Four it was?
Very much liking my new cupboard, looks like it was meant for area it’s sitting in. Had to lug the old cupboard (also street find) down to recycle area in garage, but that’s part of the deal.
Trying something diff tonite. Boiled up some of those baby potatoes and improvising from some fancy recipe called Potatoes Savoyarde, tossed them in oil and garlic, baked them until sorta crispy, threw on lots o’ cheese and some breadcrumbs and baked them until starting to get crusty. Supposed to be side dish but for me main dish with some veg. Hope it works.
Oh no! Just heard boom as thunder!

Joan, snag the cat carrier! LOL …. great find!

…. FINALLY quit pouring, now just a gentle mist …. but seriously, it’s like living in a huge green house! …. the fishies don’t know what to think of all the fresh water and the fullness of the pond … it’s over the top of the bubbler, so its like a scuba hose making underwater bubbles! … oh well, at least I know it’s giving it air! LOL

…. believe it or not, Mr. AV (ever the purist) stuck with his entire PGA senior round today, slogging their way through the rain, mud and wet sand (yuck!) ….. didn’t go that well, but finished his round! …. he never gives up 🙂

time for me to cypher a decent meal (my favorite new term) …. thinking combining last nights baked chicken boobs with night before’s spaghetti … cheater version of chicken caccitorie …… have a good one all!

Good morning all, the rain has stopped here- for now. It’s still an overcast day but at least it isn’t bone chilling cold and I even have the doors open. I am a jeans person in Winter and capri pants or long shorts in Summer. I like to keep my swollen knees covered.
AV, glad you are not afloat, how are your fishes doing in their pond. Woohoo, roll on Friday for you. I am glad to hear that Big Sal still came for breakfast and flirting with Abby despite the wet conditions.
All the flooding I have encountered was as a child when camping. I have vivid memories of water flowing through the tent and things floating past, being carried complete with sleeping bag and put into the car for the night and even better once having to be pushed while in our trailer(basically a flatbed for carrying things on)over a flooded stream and culvert to higher ground and spending the night in a woolshed with about 30 other campers.
KJ, I would appreciate it if you turned the fans in my direction if you want to remove some of that heat. LOL, love the link.
JK, love the beautiful old houses and mature trees in your pics. Looks like the bike race was fun.
Joan, great idea about putting that recipe in the soup thread. I just may have to give it a try if I can find all the ingredients. I will get daughter to make me some chickpea pasta as I can’t eat wheat flour pasta. Oh abandoned cat carrier, time it was rescued. Wow, nice beach house but as you say it would look so different with people ‘stuff’ in it. LOL at the lazy kitties and their slapfight.
KJ, your potato creation sounds delish. I love crispy roast potatoes. Hope the storm didn’t linger.

Anyone else noticed that we don’t have a new Kitty of the Day today?

Well, it never rained here although it was predicted to rain all day. The sky is actually blue and clear now! I had a lazy day. Took a nap, warmed up leftovers, washed the dishes, wrote a long email letter, and chatted with a friend. I had wanted to go to the post office today, but forgot all about it! LOL
I have the windows open with fans, but it’s SO humid. My plumber friend never made it over to check my AC like he planned. 🙁 The next two days age going to be even hotter, and hot even until Sat….. Oh, no! We are all gonna melt in here! LOL Well, we are finally getting “summer” weather. The water will be nice and warm for swimming for the kids at least.
Joan, glad that house at the end of your road is being worked on.
How do I find the soup thread?

BB, here is the soup thread. http://dailykitten.com/chat/topic/its-fall-time-for-soup/
Happy posting. I have marked it as a ‘favourite’ so I can find it easily.

KJ, those potatoes sound yummy – your dinner sounds good too, AV!
BB, glad MS found the thread for you. I was going to look it up only to see you are all set!
Looks like the TDK consensus is to rescue the cat carrier. I will try to venture down the street tomorrow.

MS, I noticed that Gus and Sadie have extended their reign of TDK. Perhaps Freddie is busy workout the tekkie concerns. I haven’t had any problems other than double postings. On my end, my ‘puter is slow and my phone didn’t seem to like TDK yesterday, but has made up and is friends with it today.

Just had huge storm – power went off for a few minutes then came back on.
MS, aiming warm air fans towards NZ.
Potato dish came out very well, another one to add to the file ‘o KJ-proof recipes.
I too noticed Gus and Sadie redux. Dorry was clamouring for me to re-post his pic and story again, but I firmly told him that this is KM’s purview. BTW I had quintuple postings when opening this am’s Café, every time I edited previous post remained, had to go back and delete the repeats.
Passed out on futon while watching obviously not so engaging mystery, so think it’s time that I took my sleep shirt to bed. With flashlight close to hand. Love to sleep with the rain beating against the windows. And reading book of ghost stories. That’s my plan. Night all!
