Monday 27-06-2016 – Sun Glasses Day in the TDK Café

Happy Monday (can I even say that?) to everyone! It’s a sunny but steamy day here as we had welcome thunderstorms last evening and a couple of showers through the night and it feels like a sauna. I’m glad the weeding is done for now. One thing about letting the weeds get big–they are easy to pull. I am so allergic to poison ivy that I let Mr. KZ pull them out with pliers and try not to brush up against any leaf at anytime. I know this sounds weird, but when any body part of mine gets close to it, it tingles. 😯 Maybe it’s psychoschematic (sp?!) but I do, lol! I will get a bad case of it every 10 to 15 years or so, when I let my guard down and don’t use gloves or whatever. Last time I ended up in urgent care, dose of steroids, and had to wear a white long sleeved t-shirt to bed to keep from seeping all over the covers. The blisters would weep during the day too, so I had to wear long sleeves to keep the stuff from running down my arms. I shudder thinking about it. But you can’t get rid of poison ivy. It will be hear long after we are gone. 😛

Ooh, I had poison ivy like that, KZ. Miserable. I had a meeting to attend so I wrapped my arms with washcloths and wore a long sleeve top – in the summer of course. Topical stuff didn’t work because it was weeping so much.
Oh those Florida lizards! We have them here but not nearly in the quantity you have them. I’m sure the JJ crew would have fun with them!
Thanks to all who enjoyed the lounge this weekend, and participated or watched games and events. Comet was rooting for the Maine Coons but congratulated the winners with lots of enthusiasm. Leela high-pawed Miss Gaea.

It has finally cooled down a bit around here – was very hot/sticky both Sat/Sun. Happy to be indoors at shoe place!
Put enough water/nomz in shade for outdoor crew – there were three having a pm visit when filled bowls for evening:
Kiki/dilute tabby, OJ/orangie & Oreo/Blk-wht Kittehs. Kiki was waiting for me this AM – still shy but getting a
bit more trusting 🙂

Ugh, the summer cold. At least in the winter you can bury yourself under covers and drink hot bevvies, in the summer a cold is annoying and miserable. Feel better KJ.
Hi Kandy – how adorable that DeeDee snuggles with you during the scary storm. Things don’t seem as frightening when close to mama!
Rain/storms moving in tonight into tomorrow. Had I made one more short loop I would have topped the five mile mark this morning, but Miss Berta hunted me down so we went home and I fed the crew. The hike still leaves me pretty tired each day, but health-wise, probably worth it!

Woke to rain but now have weak sunshine. It won’t last though with yet more heavy rain forecast for this evening and tomorrow.
Yikes KZ, your poison ivy reaction sounds terrible, it must be a nasty weed if it requires pliers to pull it out. We don’t have it here.

Oh KJ not a Summer cold! Take your vitamin C and anything immune boosting. Have fun with Hazel and mind your fingers. Those cat rings are pretty neat and I am sure you will figure out how to make one, there might even be a tutorial somewhere on the I’net.
Kandy, yes indeed the things we do for our cats. What a cute scene you describe. Maybe Dee Dee will become a water loving cat.

Lunch time here, off to see what the cupboards/fridge have. Rain must be on the way as HRH has headed upstairs to bed.
