    On April 27, 1947, Babe Ruth attended Yankee Stadium for Babe Ruth Day, sadly his last time he was at the stadium. Batter’s up for the kitties – who’s on first?

    Good morning – Babe Ruth enjoyed dining at an old restaurant on Greenwood Lake (spans NJ & NY). It’s been refurbished of course, but the stone gates remain, as well as the stone terraces on the water.
    Not a huge baseball fan, but we liked watching the locals play while on vacation at the Outer Banks.
    Love the kitty curled up in the baseball cap!

    Baseball isn’t a thing in Ireland we have something called rounders 🙂 but only at school..

    Sitting here waiting in the vets.. Moneypenny wasn’t a happy camper on the drive down.. Will let ye know any info as soon as I do..

    Good morning all! ….Baseball is HUGE around here! … and our Tampa Bay Rays are HUGE around here! …. they lead us a merry dance of ups/downs! …. much of my family is obsessed with them! …. fun to follow, but I’m not a fan of packing in an over crowded stadium with loud drunks … I’ll take the front row seat in front of my 70″ DVR 🙂

    after a relaxing weekend, it’s a busy Monday for me here …. Mr. AV is competing in a golf tourney, so I’m taking advantage of the alone time to get a jump on the week …. have a great day all!

    Ms Moneypenny is doing well.. All stiches are removed and the vet is very happy with the progress ???????????? her retina is clear again and she can now see again!!! Will probably have blurred vision for a while though…The vet bill came to €165 and through all the help she’s received we are able to cover the cost so I’ll be closing and updating her youcaring page …

    Thank you all so much for the prayers and thoughts it really helped! We have a follow up app on Monday next and we still need to pray that the ulcer continues to heal… We aren’t completely out of the woods yet but at least she has a fighting chance to keep her eye now..

    Love you guys I’m so happy must bring her home and cry with happiness now 🙂

    Glad that you’re continuing to feel better Cheri.
    Not a baseball fan here either, but … at one point we had our very own team – The Montreal Expos – and Jarry Park (or rather Parc Jarry in the lingua franca LOL.) Recall going to opening game some years back with high school pal and her family. It was Passover. I really didn’t get what was going on. They were playing the NY Mets. I don’t remember who won LOL. We played softball in school, but loathing all aspects of gym class, I took ninth place and hoped not to get called to the bat, and when we were on the field, I would head for the outfield where laws of physics would prevent ball from reaching. Played some casually in uni and actually hit the ball on rare occasions. And to think that I’m supposedly a fixture at the gym as now. Guess the advent of aerobics made being at the gym a pleasure, reaching apex with spin class.

    Good morning everyone, hope you are feeling much better Cheri! Not a huge fan of baseball either, but live not far from the Dayton Dragons and of course the Cincinnati Reds! AND also Deb, not far from Cleveland where those girls were held captive for years! What’s going on here?!!
    Buttons, so glad it’s good news about Ms. MP!! You can breathe again. Of course you will keep a close watch on that eye, and because you are so vigilant, it’s probably the reason she kept her eye in the first place!

    Good morning! I’m with grumpy cat on baseball, but I’m glad others like it since its a a great American tradition.

    Gave up my morning coffee starting today (after realizing I was dependent on it when I happened to go without it yesterday). I’ve always had just the one mug with breakfast and adore the flavor. Never thought I needed it for the energy since I’m okay with mornings. But man did I crash yesterday morning (I’d had a smoothie instead of solid food and I don’t bother having coffee with smoothies). I’m sensitive to caffeine, so probably better to do without anyways. Maybe I’ll still have it occasionally (that’s what all the addicts say, right?).

    Deb, I bet you will have a blast at the game! It’s fun to go to a live event even if it isn’t something you’re a big fan of.
    KJ, hate to go against one of our local teams (remember, I live in the shadow of NYC), but your team probably beat the Mets – they are not the team to beat. Feel bad for diehard Mets fans. But hey, you never know.
    I stunk at softball in high school! Avoided it as much as possible.
    Cheri, I am glad you are feeling better, and hope you feel better every day till before you know it, you’ll wake up and think, “what dental surgery?”!
    So glad to hear the good news about Ms. Moneypenny! Thank you for the update, Buttons!
    Hi ECB – good luck with the caffeine withdrawal. It’s probably good to break routines for a while at times. I do not drink coffee, but occasionally take a caffeine tablet. As soon as I start to see a pattern, however, i.e., taking one every day around the same time, I stop.

    Read article Deb, how those girls managed to keep themselves together and not despair …
    Wow, and now I have song as “El Condor Pasa” as earworm LOL.
    Agree Joan, being in a crowd cheering on team, even if not 100% a fan is fun. At least I understand rules of baseball, more than say, football. Also understand basic rudiments of hockey which as Canadian I should have in-depth knowledge of, it being our nat’l sport LOL. I do love maple syrup though, so there’s that.
    Off to do a litter run for the Master. Tried to get head office of local pet supply store to deliver, not happening anytime soon! 🙁 So it’s just me and the wheely cart as shifting around like 35 lbs for even 3 blocks is not an option. Then running some errands on way to spin class. Was a bit sunny this am, but looks like predicted rain might happen, whatever. L8R!

    Not a die-hard baseball fan (don’t let my kids hear that, oh there would be hell to pay if they knew that) but I will go to a live game, get to sit with my son and his gf and it’s close to my b’day so it will be good >^..^<

    Sarah used to rearrange her b’ball cards every weekend for years, sometimes it would be by RBI’s, sometimes by team and alphabetical, never really knew she has tons of cards 🙂
