Hi, everybody! I have missed each one of you so much and have tried, with little success to at least look at the dailies. How can one person be so busy that there’s no time to do something that brings so much joy??? During all this time of business, I am still trying to recover from the open-heart surgery I had to cut out an aneurysm in my aorta just as it comes out of the heart and also to replace the aortic valve. I have not been able to understand why I still cannot exercise; in fact, I can’t walk up ten steps without being completely breathless. The non-interventional cardiologist hasn’t been much help. He wants me to have a lung scan to rule out a pulmonary embolism which is nuts. I’d had a PE, I would have died already or it would have dissolved. No one has a PE for 8 months!
Anyway, I’m still trying and still taking care of all my kitties.
I hope to get back in the swing of Daily Kitten really soon. In the meantime, please know that I think of you often and, of course, hope all is well. Warmest Regards, Lois Dell

Goodness Lois, hadn’t heard from you in quite a while but of course had no idea that you’ve gone through major health issues.

I’m just glad that you’re in recovery mode. Take good care.

WOW Dell, so glad that you checked in and gave us an update on yourself. That is really scary and so glad that you are on the ‘other side’ of that surgery. Sending healing vibes and white light to help you heal. And of course some TDK hugs too… ๐Ÿ˜€

Hi Dell! It’s good to hear from you. Open heart surgery? I hope they figure out what’s making you feel so breathless.

Such a cute topic…and I LOVE the Jules Verne quote!!

Monday here, ugh, all day, but it’s a beautiful one. Avery drifted off to sleep in my bed, so I get a little computer time. It’s hard to believe that it’s the last week in March already!!

Think I’ll go in search for another cup of ‘Joe’!! Later!

We salute those who gave their all for their country.

Then, on a way lighter note, there’s also this “Joe”:

Yup – it’s G.I. Joe – circa 1969! And way more my type than “Ken.” ๐Ÿ˜‰

And one of my fave musical tunes from “Pyjama Game – Hernando’s Hideaway”
“Just knock three times and whisper low
That you and I were sent by Joe”

Hey PG, I have that “Leave me alone …” T-shirt in white w/burgundy bkgd. For gym and it generally gets ’em LOL. They don’t know that it’s generally true!

So I am way stressed. Plan A would have been to dump it on TDKer’s. Nope. Plan B was to srsly “Hazel.” So I basically scrubbed my fridge down one step sort of using a toothbrush. It’s srsly clean. But with Passover 2 wks away I want to be able to grocery shop early and store some stuff in it. Anyway the thing looks like it could be in an appliance storeroom. And I’m still stressed. ๐Ÿ™

Dorry loves Passover as his noms consist of just his kibble and more of it to make up for not getting wet food (which contains wheat – yes I know that he’s a kit and not Jewish, but he is technically owned by me.) I wouldn’t want him to get overly “spritely” (PG, I so love that term/euphemism.) Only one of us is allowed that “privilege,” and he’s a lean guy already.

I do have a system and I think that it was a yr ago that I set it up even more efficiently. Plus I don’t entertain or srsly cook for that matter. So I guess that I shouldn’t complain, but I like doing things ahead of time, case in point when I moved I was all boxed/labelled like 2 mos prior, then when I needed something had to unpack boxes. *Sigh* Well with this hol, certain things can only be done day before, I just have to go with it.

Planned to go for groceries tomorrow, but it’s pouring out and same for Tues. Plus appt w/stylist for haircut in pm. Might put groceries off to Wed. Then again, I could use common sense and take cab home, will have to see what gets into my wheely cart. The grocery store where they have best selection does not deliver in my area, I’m like a few blocks off. And I asked, nicely, no go. ๐Ÿ™

Foot’s way better with home care, but wrists, which do not hurt are bruised – looks like I was handcuffed! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ I’ll run it all by physio when she calls l8r.

Oooh, that cup of Joe/Joe in a cup is adorable!
Hi Lois Dell, I am so glad you are on the mend after such an ordeal. I hope you feel better each day. Know that heaps of TDK healing energy are headed your way. TDK has powers – there are proven cases, I kid you not!
A friend on fb wrote of having to put his son’s cat down. His son had the cat for two years before he himself died of cancer. The cat lived for another twelve years. Today Chris went to the Rainbow Bridge to greet his cat Calie and they crossed the Bridge together.
Well, things are a bit tough here. We have a service coming in to help mom a few days a week. It is not easy for her to accept assistance, but there are essential things that she can’t do. Baby steps for now and hoping she will build up trust with the aide.

JJ, now I’m crying about Chris and Calie – and I don’t even know them. But kit lovers will understand.

BTW, wee Joe in a cup out to be mine by rights – after all I found her! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Guess it’s the fact that we’re not teens anymore – you’re the fourth purrson in just the past few weeks who’ve told me about having to make different arrangements for their elderly parents. It’s very hard for both parties concerned. Hope that it goes well for your Mom.

Good morning all, I didn’t make it back to the Cafe lastnight as I was feeling under the weather. Taking today slowly.

Wow Dell, you have certainly had a difficult time health wise the last eight months. I hope your recovery gets better and the reason for your breathlessness is found and seen to.
    Sending Healing Energy for you.
JJ, bittersweet story about Chris and Calie but together again.
It’s not easy aging and accepting that you need help. Went through that with Mum during her recent fracture, she didn’t like the way the home help did things but they were restricted by rules too like no moving furniture while vacuuming. Just keep smiling and you know you can vent here if it all gets too much for you. Gentle hug.

MS, hope that you feel better soon. And that HRH is taking propurr care of you – right – well purrhaps you’d be better to rely on Mr. MS for that.

Saw this item this morning and it had me chuckling. Thought you might enjoy reading it too.
‘A touch of kitten fur behind the ear’
They have bottled perfumes based on everyday scents, like Laundromat, Grass and Leather but now New York Demeter Fragrance Library (DFL) have release of a new fragrance – Kitten Fur. Which smells like “a combination of skin and sunshine”, according to DFL CEO Mark Crames, keeping things vague. To identify and replicate the scent signature produced by a place or object, perfumers may use a technique called headspace technology, where they isolate and sample the air near its source, in order to build a chemical fingerprint that can be replicated in the lab, he explains. Plant based scents are much easier to recreate and even the New Baby scent was easier to reproduce with the smells of lotion, powder and baby shampoo. Bacon and Puppy’s Breath are still in development.
    Any thoughts? ๐Ÿ˜•

I was talking with my friend and we decided that life can be uncooperative for type A folks. I’m glad your ankle is feeling a bit better. You shouldn’t wear your pink cuffs at night! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

The ad has been running on my email page but I didn’t bother to look at it. As much as I love the smell of my kits fur (yes, I do smell my kits’ fur) I just don’t know…

Yeah, JJ posted about this “scent” last Tues in keeping with “Fragrance Day”. This was my reply/pic for what it’s worth:

“So the perfume is for hoomins. I like the presentation. Wonder if the orangie tabby comes with it as a bonus? My only concern is if I can find it in my nโ€™hood. More importantly, if I try it out will I be followed in the streets by an army of outdoor tom kits! You know how strong a kitโ€™s sense of smell is. Or will Dorry reject me thinking that Iโ€™ve been cheating on him!”

PG, it’s the baby toe that was involved, but same general area as ankle. LOL. Had reg long chat with physio, foot feels fine, tiny bruise, she’s not concerned. But my wrists look srsly abused. Guess that I should stick to the padded handcuffs in bed at night? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now I almost missed her call as my answering machine was giving me grief. I think my tinkering around sorted it out, ’cause on the “help” line one doesn’t seem to get hold of an actual hoomin.

Ever seen the ep of “Twilight Zone” where a guy’s household items attack and kill him? I think his end came when the throw cushions smothered him. At times I fear that G-d forbid I’m headed down that route as also last week (OK, my fault) I had a too close encounter with my t. oven and now have a not attractive scar on lower abs, belly region, someone said it looks like surgical scar. Not that anyone sees it, ‘cept Dorry, but still.

PG, you’re 100% right re Type A, or in my case Type AAA peeps.

I think that I should head on down to tomorrow’s Cafรฉ and then to bed.

I’m always amused by the bacon-flavoured chips (crisps) I see that are both vegetarian and kosher. It is basically a smoky flavouring with paprika and other stuff… Livia still has that kittenish aroma.

I cried too about the dead son and his dead cat, though of course I don’t know either of them. A good friend of mine died of a massive heart attack over 20 years ago (21 in October), in front of his wife, to boot. And his elderly Siamese cat, Mirka, died not very long after her return to their flat.

Actually, worn-out toothbrushes are very good for cleaning out grout and the nasty stuff that is hard to eliminate otherwise around sinks. They are also very good for gently scrubbing little spots on clothing (like oil stains) with a bit of dish soap, before washing them.

And my Joe is a Giuseppe, as I only drink espresso. Peppe, to make him more “average” and ordinary guy.
