checking in ….. I’m on a good roll today, getting things accomplished!

…. ya’ll stay safe, those that have that nasty storm headed your way – glad you could stay home, BB!

Deb, to answer your question, yes, Son will only be in Cambodia about 3 weeks; Dau is moving to Rio to be with her BF. They are quite serious, and he will be down there a year …. she just accepted a new job in her same field, and it’s a work from on-line ….. she can do it anywhere …. I give her credit for making things happen when she wants to ….

Good Morning All and nighty night MS,

I love today’s theme, KJ-ROTFL! Thanks MS and Jean for the wonderfully funny pics. For all the TDKers in the storm’s path, please be careful.

So, I’m scrolling down and *Yikes* I see corn cob shorts! I know some folks LOVE to knit but srsly, yellow shorts? Anywho, I hope you feel better Deb.

AV-look at your son and Dau’s travels as an opportunity to go visit them! 🙂

Hi everyone – back on the mountain and ready for a blizzard. Going to get a brew going in the crockpot. We got a few inches overnight and this morning but the roads are okay for now. It stopped snowing when I was down the valley but has started up again.
Somewhere I have some pretty pictures of Miss Taz on my wedding day.
Deb, I do hope the evil beings that have taken over your body give it up soon. It will be nice to have you back. 🙂

Aw, PG the video is so shweet – thanks!
Hey Joan, glad you are back at home safe/sound.
Soup sounds like a great idea on a snowy day – stay safe!

    It’s relatively calm here – just damp/cold.
So I’m headed to purrfect patio for a few w/fave kit as lunchtime RR!
Hey Tux, let grab our lounge chair & chill out in some dappled sun/shade!
    Ahh, this is the life…purrrrzzz…zzzzzz..zz.z…

Deb, hope that you’re back to yourself and soon.
BB, indeed the grey stripey fella resembles Dorry – you can have him visit anytime, I’m sure he’d like to bond with your guys as Chad and Gavin!
JK, that fancy lacy wedding dress, those needle-sharp claws!!! Hmmm …
Re “40 and still not married” – well for the record, having “been there, done that”, I prefurr Dorry as male in my life over many hoomins who’ve been “suggested”: my purry guy is cleaner, in better shape, gets off the couch, eats what I put in front of him, listens to my opinions – need I say more? LOL
Those knit corncob shorts – scary – almost scarier than famous cult horror flock “Children of the Corn” – will not be flying off my knitting needles anytime soon!

I would LOVE to meet Dorry KJ! He is just SO adorable!!!!
Joan… SO glad you are home again and safe. The snow is really collecting here now. Will venture out to do a bit of shoveling and fill the feeder. The map shows we might not get too much snow here. But, we always seem to get MORE than they say.
Joan, what will you put in your crock pot? I had wanted to make pizza crust and rolls, but as usual…. have been on here all day! I was chatting with a friend on FB chat as well. She works with me.

Well BB, I’ll send Dorry on through the wormhole for the rest of the pm! He’s bringing along a stash o’ nip for the guys. On a more serious note, you be careful if you plan on shoveling.

I will KJ…. Have no choice… no one to help me. I do take my time and if I get out there before it gets too deep, it will be easier. The other day, I saw a young man riding a 4 wheeler with a little plow in front. Too bad I couldn’t catch him! He went flying by! He probably clears snow for the neighbors. A regular plow wouldn’t work here as there’s no room to push it with the deck and all. (I could never afford it anyway!) Something small like a 4 wheeler would be perfect! Oh well… dream on…. LOL

Yum, pea soups sounds tempting Joan!
Yay, almost time to head out – may do Health Center tonight/social work out vs shoveling fun/just light dusting today = no major aerobics!
Wishing all a good rest of today…back on the flip as Tuesday. Hey Tux, how about a smooch, later all!

Pea soup sounds good! Especially if you are snowed in and it’s something you can keep hot on the woodburner should your electric go out.
BB, I’m not sure how much we got, probably around 5″, of course with the wind blowing like it did, some places look worse, especially wherever it swirls and dumps! I’m not sure, but those pine siskins look familiar. I may be getting them confused with my goldfinches, they look fairly similar to them. I have lots of doves, goldfinches, purple finches, sparrows of all types, all kinds of wood peckers, nuthatches, chickadees, cardinals (male and female). I don’t see the cardinals much until it snows, then they hit the feeders big time. They really are beautiful birds.

Put fleece sheets on the bed this morning, I will be toasty tonight. The wind was howling out of the northeast last night and that makes our bedroom floor so cold. The cats will be trying to get under the covers for sure with the fleece on the bed. Is there any blanket that a cat likes better than fleece? 😆

Is it just me or are those knitted shorts just, well…creepy?! HA HA!
Love the pic of the two orange and white kitties with suitcases around their necks. I would take them home and their travels would be over!
Well, gotta get supper on, Mr. KZ is on his way home so catch you back in a couple hours….

Keep safe and warm all! Joan, pea soup sounds delish! … kids are telling me NYC is getting blizzarded, Dau’s clinic closed early, and not sure if they will open tmrw; Son’s classes were cancelled for tmrw …. they’re hunkering down, I hope they don’t loose power! ….. yesterday was our rain-storm, but now, it’s beautiful (mid-upper 60s and sunny) …. I almost feel guilty 😉

Hi all, finally managed to make it to the Cafe today.
Joan, I’m pleased you managed to go down and back up the mountain before the worst of the snow hit. Mmmmm, pea soup brewing in the crockpot. That will warm your tummies.
more on the crochet shorts – http://www.stuff.co.nz/life-style/fashion/65446492/trend-alert-crochet-shorts-for-guys (shudder)
Everyone in the storm area keep safe and warm and don’t overdo shovelling the snow.
We may be in for some rain! ! Shock horror our amazing Summer weather may be interrupted for a day or so of rain and I am happy happy.
Lunch time here, I must investigate what the fridge holds for me.

OMG MS – those crochet outfits – esp the one-piece zig-zag deal, it’s the 60’s look all over again and not a good look either!!! Thank goodness I don’t crochet, not that anything would tempt me to attempt one of these for a guy. And the model is quite buff, those outfits on some guys quite boggles the mind! Purrhaps as undershorts of a sort, ie well covered up by some other pant, but that’s where the idea ends IMHO. Fashion police alert! 😯
Agree KZ, shorts have 100% creep factor! Flannel sheets, mmmm … in fact I have one on bed right now too!
All those in snowstorm zone stay safe and warm. Nothing here ‘cept usual mega cold.

I put flannel sheets on the bed a month ago and hey, my furballs let me sleep in the bed…sometimes! 😉 I want you to know I will never un-see those images, MS! Hope you found something yummy in the fridge. I guess it’s too hot for pea soup, huh? Maybe a Caprese salad?

I just hope they aren’t pure wool KJ, they would be very itchy. 🙁
They are certainly reminiscent of the late 60’s early 70’s. My sister and I had crocheted dresses. We thought they were pretty smart back then but on looking back now I’m not of the same opinion. Of course Mum thought they were fantastic, she had made them.
Heading off to pick my crop of nectarines before the rains arrive and they all rot on the tree.

Smiling as I look over the cafe fun today. (Those shorts!) Popped in once or twice today but got interrupted while trying to post…one of those days. Next couple of days I’ll be busy with houses to clean in the afternoons, then things should slow down a little. Hope you all stay warm. Reading about hunkering down for the snow, flannel sheets and pea soup made me almost miss winter…almost. :).

Well one can knit/crochet with cotton yarn as my summer sweaters done with same pattern as winter ones. Or bamboo, linen, silk or lightweight acrylic for that matter. Still those outfits MS posted just seem to be a bad plan. One of my first knitting guides as “Stitch ‘N Bitch” does have a pattern for a knit bikini, don’t know, just think it’s better plan to buy swimwear made out of fabric more suited to pools filled with chlorine and/or salt. Speaking of knitting, just finishing off row of sweater border so that I can switch it on to larger needle for rest of sweater, then it’s off to bed early for a change.
