KJ, this topic surely has you written all over it—what with the steampunk AND Dorian Gray, well, this Monday topic is for you!!

Cooler today (thank you!) and the rest of the week. Love the mid 60’s in the springtime, and everything is so green with all the rain. Hard to keep up with the weeds though, so I do what I want (or can) and forget the rest!! I need to get my tomato plants in the garden this week too. I think the chances for frost have finally passed….fingers crossed!! X

Today is Sir Arthur Conan Doyles’ birthday. How timely that the creator of master sleuth Sherlock Holmes has his day on Victoria Day. Doyle was born in Scotland and studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh, where he met Dr. Joseph Bell, a teacher with extraordinary deductive reasoning power. Bell partly inspired Doyle’s character Sherlock Holmes years later.

We had a lovely rain last evening and it smelled so good. I’m going swimming today. I talked to my brother to see how mom is doing…mom never tells me or my nephew what’s going on so I have to do it surreptitiously. 👿

Hi all – it’s a chilly drizzly day here in Jersey. Looks like the frost danger has passed here as well, though it also means MS is in for some very chilly nights.
Got out for a 3 mile walk today. I figure the light rain is good for my skin!

Paw up, PM Waves from drizzling again in my n’hood! After a rainy weekend it finally cleared up for 1/2 of this day! Now it’s Baaack…

Similar weather here JJ, and it got srsly chilly, supposed to rise during week. But I refused to wear tights – so there!

Steampunk is way kewel – I have some pendants of that ilk.

Indeed, this is the purrfect day for Dorry lovers efurrywhere – meaning me.

PG, interesting how Sherlock’s creator and HM Special Day coincide this year.

So mini stressor/adventure at gym. Bkgd is that one can leave one’s wallet/keys in mini lockers in reception area which is better guarded than locker room. But today, in locker room, the tiny key absconded into the locker room locker just below mine! There is too much clearance and this can easily happen. Of course I did not remember the key number. 🙄 And reception peeps refused to open every mini locker for privacy reasons, even when I explained that my wallet/house keys were involved. 😥 Would have had to get locker where key was hiding broken open and bought purrson new lock. Fortunately locker belonged to one of the trainers and fortunately she was still in the gym. And fortunately she was kind enough to leave her client for a few and open her locker, as this had happened to her. So got home later than planned and srsly apologized to reception staff as I sorta lost it. They were cool. Never putting this key where I can lose it so easily again! Would that this were my biggest stressor, but for sure I do not need added stress.

Think that I’ll go and watch me last night’s “Handmaid’s Tale” and do some knitting.

Oh and speaking of “Victoriana” a new series, set in the mid-19th C has started on PBS “Masterpiece Theatre”: “Fans of Downton Abbey’s Anna Bates were likely spooked by Joanne Froggatt’s character in “Dark Angel”: the manipulative real-life serial killer Mary Ann Cotton.” Haven’t watched first ep as yet, but looks to be interesting!

Afternoon all! …. I can’t wrap my head around the word ‘chilly’ …. it’s been record hot around here ….. mid 90s all week, with 110% humidity! …. forget makeup ….. Dau and SIL arrive Friday for the holiday weekend, they are SO ready for some warmth! ….. I told her – bring only some shorts, tees & a bathing suit …..

Mr. AV installed two ceiling fans on the front veranda porch, and Miss Caddy loves them! ….. she gets on her top perch on the cat tree, right under a fan, and passes out! ….. black fur coat has to be the hottest possible! LOL …. I give her fresh water in her porch bowl, and slip some ice cubes in it a couple of times a day …. girl is pampered!

I made chicken slouvaki last night, and it was fabulous! …. love Greek yogart and cucumber – a cool and refreshing sauce on a hot evening! ….

Hope everyone had a good Monday, I’m working ahead so I can take Friday thru Monday off to spend with the kids …. L8R all!

Good walk JJ!

It’s been chillier with temperatures 5-10 degrees cooler than usual. The dry and hot will be here soon enough.

At least the instructor understood your predicament, JJ. I recorded Dark Angel so I’ll watch that later.

I love my weather. I don’t mind hot and humid but only for so long. If I remember correctly, the Florida weather has been warmer than usual this “winter.” Dau and SIL will have a toasty weekend. Miss Caddy is NOT spoiled. 🙄

The chicken slouvaki sounds good. I’ll have to see if I can a make smaller amount. I don’t much care for leftovers.

Did your kits have a good day, ECB? How much work did construction workers get done in the kitchen?

Miss Gaea is annoyed (Not unusual) because it’s raining hard and I decided she’s not going out. She thinks her world is coming to an end… *sigh*

Finally made it to the Cafe properly instead of for a quick glance and post.
We’ve had our third day in a row with a good hard frost and temps just above freezing but two of them were followed by gorgeous warm sunny days. Today promised to be sunny too but now clouds have rolled in and the day is slightly grey.
HRH had a huge fight with a motley calico cat which raced off when I hissed at it followed closely by HRH Shadz. I whistled and called and Shadz eventually came home, in her own time but was still all riled up and wouldn’t let me near her. Several hours later and she is all lovey again and I could check her over for wounds. She seems fine but isn’t eating again. I got some rabbit out to thaw to tempt her appetite. I can see that she is now beginning to show her age. 🙁

JJ, you are so correct about us getting chilly nights. Considering it is still Autumn we have had a few very cold nights and mornings.
A walk in light rain is lovely as long as it’s not too cold too.
Oh KJ, what an awful moment that must have been when your key absconded. Thank goodness the situation wasn’t a worst case scenario.

PG, Miss Gaea and HRH Shadz seem to be in similar moods at the moment.
It has been so frosty that I decided to bring in all the remaining Monarch caterpillars and chrysalis. Now I hear the regular ‘thock’ as caterpillar poop hits the tray I have their vases of food standing on. Wow caterpillars sure can poop.
Terrible news of many deaths following explosions at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester UK.
Healing Energy for all the wounded and thoughts for families and friends who have lost someone.

HRH, hope the rabbit will tempt your appetite, Caddy gets all riled up and poofy tailed when neighbor cats venture into her yard ….. she took a little black/white to school a couple of nights ago ….

PG, it’s me as KJ who had the key incident. JJ would be smarter than to get into such a predicament. 😉

Tomorrow I have some sorta stress-related issues to address via phone. I do not like waiting for things. But nothing for it now, ‘cept to get myself into bed as staying up all night will not do a thing ‘cept leave me more stressed out. Yes, I talk to myself, but I like to think in a good way.At times I even find this amusing
