Martin Luther King Jr. was the chief spokesman for nonviolent activism in the civil rights movement, which successfully protested racial discrimination in federal and state law.

Good morning! Eko and Leo could have posed for the first pic. In fact, I have very similar photo of them.

No news on Buttercup… Sort of a discouraging day yesterday with that and rough house negotiations. Uncertainty is stressful, but hopefully we’ll come to an agreement today.

Hope everyone has a better than expected Monday!

Good morning – that first pic is indeed adorable. I used to cross Shaddo and Jiggs’ tails when I put their dinner plates down.
Will keep sending good vibes that Buttercup finds her way very soon.
It’s sunny and chilly here in Jersey today. Happy to say it’s not bone chilling cold. There’s snow on rooftops and lawns, enough to look pretty and not be a nuisance.

    Hi Efurryone,

In case anyone missed it, my beloved Steelers won the playoff game against Kansas Chiefs!!!!! On to New England!

I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up to a winter wonderland. We got 5.5″ snow overnight. Of course, I had to play in and shovel it. 😉

Bummer about the negotiations ECB. My gang is sending much white light to Miss Buttercup.

Yea Buttons and Mr. B on securing your mortgage. Soon you’ll start on your own home. 🙂

I thought I was feeling better so I made some coffee. Bad thought-I back to plain burger and white rice. I had a bit of Pepto-bismal but I hate the taste so I couldn’t swallow a tsp.

    Cya l8r and have a happy~

Gr8 news Buttons on the home front – as in getting mortgage approved. Hope to hear equally good news re job.

ECB, hope that you get your negotiations settled in a way that works for you.

PG, poor grrrl – you must be jonesing for coffee – or not. In I think similar circumstances I opted for tea – seemed less harsh but still gave me the nec’y caffeine fix.

Congrats on your Steelers winning big! She who knows naught of football is wondering how you came to root for P’Burg team. Is it ’cause you just like them, or were they at one time your home team?

Actually was busy workwise mid pm onwards. But now I can get back to imp stuff as in knitting. is there such a thing as “binge-washing?” If not I just made it up. As in for no completely sane reason I just hand washed a load of knit sweaters ’cause it’s fun to use drain/spin cycle.

Also, slept on new mattress topper for 1st time last night. Makes the bed slightly higher and purrhaps it’s placebo effect but mattress does seem a tad cushier. Thinking that this was a good plan.

Hi everybody! I don’t like my erratic stops into the cafe lately, but today was a holiday and I am not on my regular schedule. Ended up going to see my daughter and Avery, and having lunch before even getting on the computer.

KJ, glad you are liking your mattress topper, nothing like a poofy, cushy bed….ahhhhh!

ECB hope all goes well with house negotiations. I also hope Buttercup is found and soon. Sending prayers that she is.

PG I surely hope your tummy troubles are over. I could never take Pepto–it actually made me want to be sick. My kids also. People seem to have the same thing here, and the flu is raging. I am petrified to even go out amongst people at the moment, for fear of contracting something that keeps me from getting my surgery.

Buttons, still praying for you to get your job. How exciting to be breaking ground is just a few weeks! It will be so awesome to watch your house being built!

JJ, our weather here is sort of mild, we didn’t get any snow. But it’s been foggy and drizzly for 2 days, and more rain expected. I go out to feed Maxwell, and his dishes are always empty. He eats his kibbles, but at night if I go out, there is always a beautiful, healthy looking opossum up on the food shelf. She is the biggest opossum I have ever seen! 😆 Sleek and shiny from all the good food and shelter she has been getting!

Chiming in to say that I don’t even like the look of Pepto – too pink! Gravol makes me way sick. Flat ginger ale is supposed to help. And in the event that I spend too much time in my throne room, probiotics. truth is I’m not one to take stuff, of course unless absolutely mandated.

There is a tummy bug going around here too. N’s son has come down with it so she was coming by today but we’ve put it off til Wed. And the crud is also affecting lots of peeps.

Plus of late we’re tending to have a warmish beginning – mid-week and then back into deep freeze.

    Is this strange, or what?

KZ, very wise of you to avoid any contact that could G-d forbid see you coming down with something. For sure you want your surgery on the scheduled date.

Possums are way cute! Big city grrrl has never seen one up close. Thought that they slept upside down hanging on to tree branches. Does your visitor look anything like these guys? 😉

Yes, my visitor looks just like the big opossum KJ, but much bigger. I’m not kidding when I say this is the biggest one I’ve ever seen. The head on her (I say her, but I don’t really know if it is) is so big and wide and the body is just huge. She’s very sleek and clean too, because she is being fed so well. She tries to disappear when she knows I’ve seen her, by slowly putting her head down toward the shelf and acting like she is invisible. They sort of have a constant grimace, and they ‘hiss’ too like a cat, but they aren’t very intimidating like a raccoon can be. I wondered if she would led me pet her, but I kind of decided not to try that right now. 😛

KZ, best not to risk petting Paul (or Polly) Possum (I have mentioned that I like to name creatures LOL.) Can’t imagine that he/she has been vetted and had its’ shots. You don’t want to test it out – now or ever. I was srsly bitten by a wild kit with suspected rabies when I was just a kit myself – very not fun – but did not turn me off kits in any way. I have seen the odd raccoon wandering the n’hood, and they’re way cute with their floofy striped tails and masks. At times I’m tempted to give one a cuddle – not! 😮

    Good afternoon all.
No crossover pic as today’s topic is serious.
I melted at the lamb pic, they really are cuddly when they want to be, I miss being followed by lambs I raised.

Continued Positive Vibes for Buttercup to be rescued, and for further house negotiations ECB.
JJ, want to swap locations for a day? Hot day here and this morning was extremely windy but it has eased off a bit now. Supposed to hit 28C/82C today. I could do with a little snowtime.
Buttons that is fantastic news about the mortgage approval. Positive Vibes for when you start building and for the dream job too.
I have become a fan of an Irish tv programme lately, Corp and Anam which I believe is translated as Body and Soul from what I can find out. Yes we get English subtitles thankfully.
Aw PG, your poor tummy still a bit delicate and you had to shovel snow too. Hope you are back to 100% quickly.
KJ, you are really enjoying your washer aren’t you. I love handwashing things and then letting the washer do the spin. Weird? Maybe but at least there are two of us. Oh joy! delight! that the topper felt so good. I am sure you will have many more cushy nights ahead of you.
Waving to KZ. Laughing at the smart sleek opossum with the great diet and shelter. Oh are your opossums rather docile that you would like to pet her? Our possums are rather feisty when cornered or you try to touch them, I once caught one by it’s tail(it was trying to raid the camping food that was slung up a tree) and the darned thing doubled back up it’s tail and tried to have a go at me but I dropped it quickly.
    😮

Evening all! …. so much to do today, but I was feeling under the weather 🙁

PG, I hope your tummy settles down, mine was in turmoil today!

oh dear, ‘possums’ are not on my like list! … one got in a tussel with one of my little cats years back, and really did a number on him … he was never the same since …. I think it came through his cat door in the garage and fought him over his food bowl …. poor little guy! But in the ‘possums’ defense, all are God’s creatures, so I can’t every begrudge one shelter and food ….

Yay on the commencement of house construction, Buttons! BTDT (too many times), but always glad with the end product! Don’t let it stress you too much!

EC, hope the house closing goes well! … things can get complicated sometimes, but all seem to work out in the end!

Hope everyone has a great night! Can’t believe the first (children’s parade is this Sat) …. oh, the craziness begins! LOL

Congrats on getting your mortgage approved, Buttons! Wow, it will be great for you to break ground on your house!
Yay Steelers! Found out during the game that hubby was rooting for KC. We aren’t often on opposing sides, but when we are, it’s interesting. Sorry you’re still under the weather, hoping you turn the corner soon and start feeling better. Yep, I hate Pepto too. They make tablets but we’ve found they are ok for some issues, but not tummy ones, doing more harm than good.
Glad you are enjoying the new mattress topper, KJ. Sounds like it was a worthwhile investment!
Hi KZ, your drizzly weather is headed this way. Expecting freezing rain then rain for the day tomorrow. I love possums! Like KJ, I name the one that comes around here. It’s Polly. Or Petey. If I forget to bring food in and he gets to it, I leave him be. (I chase the raccoons away, like the squirrels they are super cute and silly, but greedy!) Possums eat thousands of ticks so I have no problem with them!

MS, two of us in “weird” category works for me. After all it’s a harmless weirdness. And I now have some 6 or so sweaters hang-drying. If I’d had to hand-rinse them, well when soaking wet they’re amazingly heavy – not fun!

Lambs are adorable. Esp when they seasonally “donate” their soft fleece so that KJ can make super-soft sweaters. 🙂

Dorry also seems to apurr-ove of the new topper as he gave it the once over kit-style. That’s the most important thing, right? 😉

A TV show in Irish? Wow. Glad that the language is thriving.

Hope that you, PG and AV feel better, and quickly.
