May Day takes many forms, be it a Spring celebration, workers uniting, or yowling for help!

Sorry to start the day on a downer –

Miss Deo crossed the Rainbow Bridge last night. She met her sibs Brutus, Banshee, Harlequin and all of our fur babies.

Happy May Day – screw the system! If I put baby Aslan in a time out basket like that he would climb out of it in no time! Been playing with him a lot to keep him active and keep his insides in good working order. He is shy around other people, but now that hubby is home after being away fora a few days he will get used to a bit more sound around the house. During the day either the radio or tv is on. He still prefers the KMR but I’ve been mixing kitten food in anyway. He eats some of it.
It’s chilly and super foggy here in Jersey. Going to try to get out and walk – the drizzly atmosphere is good for my skin!

Good morning everyone. Oh no PG, I’m so sorry. Run free Miss Deo, you are loved.

JJ, love hearing about Aslan. It’s a rainy day here today too, I won’t be going out much!

Well, Mr. KZ came in after feeding cattle this morning and of course we have baby kittens in our old milk house. Once there were 4–2 came up missing–I think the mother moved them. Why do they do this?! 😡 Then there were 2–a dark stripey and a white marked one. He said the dark one is gone, tragically I fear as he found remains on the table where he feeds the cats. The little white one is still there. I told him to get it and bring it to me, I just hope he does it before tragedy strikes again. Seriously, I must have been born to raise orphaned kittens. I can’t stand to think of a racoon (most likely the culprit) getting another kitten. I’ll keep you posted.

PG, condolences to nephew on Miss Deo’s passing.

Pouring out here and said to be like this for rest of week. I don’t mind at all as I’m def not outdoorsy grrrl and I have humongous umbrella.

MS, I think that May very well be Dorry front/let in the “time-out” basket. he must have committed some form of mayhem, never mind when!
    😉

Oh joy! N is here and while cleaning my bathtub faucet the d**n thing got so loose that when she finally shut it she told me to resort to the stand-alone shower for now. This has been going on for some time, where landlord maintains that it is water pressure issue. I think not. Called fix-it guy who referred me to plumber whom I have used before. Called/emailed landlord and will take it from there.

Now N maintains that I should not have to do the rsch/arrangements, but this works for me. I am a purrson of control/action and would be very not happy if I had to wait for peeps to get back to me. Plus I know my schedule. And why I feel need to justify this is a wonder in itself. Yeah, first-world prob, but it could have reached a point where I would not have been able to shut faucet off, the dripping would have driven me to breaking point, and this is jerking around with my electric bill! I shall await the outcome.

PG, re today’s Star Kit – I could also use a Gucci bag – just sayin’. 😉

Got landlord’s purrmission for inspection/repair and he will call plumber tomorrow to confirm. If it takes any longer, my recourse is to re-call landlord in my polite/proactive/KJ style.

So I was rsching whether there was much point in using my lavender/Epsom salts mix on a loofah-type thingie in shower. Could work. Found this site with 40 tips for using the salts. A proviso: Please do not use Epsom salts as laxative, can be highly dangerous.

So here’s url, plus a tip for all you gardeners out there. (Don’t know what happens if raccoons ingest Epsom salts, see proviso, I guess.) “Life-changing” might be a tad strong.LOL The “Continue reading” url also redirects to the site and I cannot get rid of this info when I copy/paste url.

40 Life-Changing Ways to Use Epsom Salt in Your Everyday Life

“Are the raccoons poking around your trash?  A little Epsom salt sprinkled in a circle around the trash can should help to drive them away since they don’t like how it smells.  This can come in handy at the campground too.  Be sure to add more if it rains since the water will wash it away.

I thought of you when I wrote about the Gucci bag, KJ!
I agree with you. I don’t why I justify myself because the odds are no one else cares…

Evening all! PG, so sorry about Deo….. always hurts…

KZ I hope you get the white baby in time ….. I didn’t want another cat, but when we rescued Caddy …. well, she’s family now ….. raccoons can be very dangerous to cats
… one almost killed my Milo years back.

    Have a great night all!

Afternoon all. It was a very nippy morning, 4C or just above freezing. The first real taste of Winter.
PG, sorry to hear about Deo’s crossing over the Bridge. She is romping with her Bridge siblings now.
While on that topic may I have White Light for my nephew kitty Titch is ill, he has lost a lot of weight and has diarrhoea. He is the type of farm cat who tends to disappear for weeks at a time and lives off the land, then comes back for home comforts for a while. He is 12 years old.
JJ, Aslan is in good hands with you.
Ah KZ, the fun of trying to find where Mama cat has moved her kits to. Our cat Whitefoots back in our farm days had us hunting high and low for her kits. Two weeks later we found them barely two feet from the back door under the covered in tank stand. They were so quiet, we never heard them. She was quite happy for us to be around them by then. I hope you can raise the wee white one and keep it away from the raccoons.
RHUBARB ! Got this recipe earlier and thought you might be interested in it. If you have left over stewed rhubarb I believe that would work just as well as stems. http://www.dish.co.nz/recipes/rhubarb-orange-and-ginger-steamed-pudding?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Thursday%20April%2027&utm_content=Thursday%20April%2027+CID_fffa07552bf847a1d21bbd79c66e7897&utm_source=Email&utm_term=See%20the%20recipe
I also wrote of how I cook rhubarb on yesterdays Cafe.
JK, nasty weather up your way.
Of course after our bitterly cold night and for most areas a frosty morning we have a glorious sunny day. I love how we get a wonderful day after a frost, like a bonus.
KJ, Dorry in the time out basket? Surely not, he’s a good boy. 😉
Hope you can get that tap seen to quickly. Oh yay, the landlord is on to it now. Oh AZDEB is a big fan of Epsom salts in the bath for easing tired muscles. I always sprinkle some Epsom salts in when I plant out my tomato seedling and then water them with some every few weeks as it is supposed to make them sweeter.
PG, love the special times for cat people. I love watching Shadz feet when she is upside down in my arms and I stroke her tummy, incidentally the only time I can touch her tummy safely. She stretches out her toes as far apart as she can with pleasure.
Did you notice KZ, on the Epsom Salt link that it can be used to deter raccoons.
Heard from my brother that Titch has nibbled on some cat biscuits today and his tail is clean (no brown stuff stuck to it). All good signs.

MS, prayers sent for Titch being safe at home and a complete recovery if he is ailing.

KZ and JJ – could it be pawsible that fate (or the TDK Faeries) have gifted you both with a white kitty? Hmmm …

Purrhaps my Gucci bag is next on their list. 😉

Took a nice shower. Different than a long soak in tub, but at least until situation gets sorted out, I won’t risk falling asleep in tub (which is srsly dangerous and has happened) or less srs, allowed a library book to take a swim in same tub. 🙁 Scrubbed self with Epsom salts, felt a bit soothing. Oh, that this were my biggest stressor, I’d be mega-happy.

Instead of chillin’ as was the plan, I spent 1.5 hrs tinkering around with several watches and their respective batteries. Of course HAD to be done tonite. *Sigh* Using trial/error “scientific” method seems that it’s new batteries that I need, trip to $$$ store as opposed to trip to jeweller which equals big $$$ diff. One watch got tossed. Thankfully we are in no way talking Cartier or Piaget here.

And we seem to have just arrived at Tues. in Northern Hem. Café will be opened in a few, nonetheless:
