Our kits have probably gotten into “affairs” that we may or may not care to remember! Likewise ourselves – care to disclose? Me neither!

We had a super hot day today for our public holiday. Thermometre was reading 36C outside but the official temp was 28C. The decking was too hot to walk on or even touch the railings. HRH disappeared for the day somewhere cool and shady and reappeared this evening as the heat was beginning to ease. She was hungry an ate a good amount of food which I am so pleased about. I have three large plant pot saucers(1 foot across) full of water dotted around the property for the birds and HRH. Everything that I don’t water is now crispy and dead.
Catch you all on the flip side.

Yet again the pics are so sweet! I loved the old movie “An Affair to Remember”, saw it not too long ago for the first time!

My PT had me outside walking around on my nice flat patio with a cane today!! It’s almost 50* outside and I don’t know when walking and outside air felt so good. I have my 2 week appointment with my ortho surgeon tomorrow, and probably the staples come out, yippee! They are starting to pull and become uncomfortable so I’m looking forward to it. Only one word for how I feel–gratitude. For so many things.

KZ, always gr8 to hear great news – esp from someone that I care about. You are progressing in leaps and bounds (well pun intended, and soon.) Must be nice to get outdoors. In my n’hood a bit too scary as way cold, -13C and ice lurks in the most unlikely places. 😮

So few peeps in Café, that I had to put up with Staff and Agency purries “hitting” on each other in keeping with today’s theme. By “hitting” I mean literally, not the hoomin variety. Until someone called a time out. LOL

Happy occurrence (for me) in the soap opera set which defines my gym. Some guy donated an S-load of $$$ and place is now named for him. One of the plans is srs reno in the reg locker room and in the posh Health Club, which I am not going for as not paying big bucks for a towel and as long as I have basics I’m good. I pay a bit xtra for decent lockerette so as not to have to shlep my spin shoes, xtra gear, padded bike seat, toiletries etc. back and forth.

Reno is starting next wk and as our locker room is 1st up we have to vacate lockerettes by Fri. We will be re-located to Health Club and IF lockerettes are available then one gets one. Supposed to take 2 mos for place to get way posh-looking, on “QT” was told that it will take at very least ’til sometime in May.

Well there are rules and then there is KJ. I am on the good side of Support Services Co-ordinator who is overseeing relocation. So today she found me a purrfect lockerette in the Health Club and I made the move. Very private area and just the right height (otherwise I’d have to either stand on bench/dangerous or crawl on floor like a snake. There’s also a neat lounge, sauna and steam room (which I prob won’t hazard using since the time when I started passing out due to dehydration or whatever.) Purrhaps one of the “riff-raff” as myself will meet a better class of purrson (not likely.) 😉 I could get used to this luxury. As this was done way ahead of schedule I’m staying very hush-hush about privilege.

Before I go back to knitting, here’s some org tips that I just applied.

If you need a book-end just p/u a standing lucite-look plastic picture frame from $$$ Store. And to jazz it up I inserted a pretty card in frame, doesn’t show anyway.

If you have a soft cover book that’s falling apart, get a 3 ring binder, take out the pages, place them in see-through 8×11 protective sheets and org in binder. Just did this for much-loved/and much-used knitting tips book, can even take out individual pgs.So much better than trying to patch bk together with tape!

My shower seemed to be running slower. So I took a thick freezer bag, filled it with vinegar, taped it on shower head with strong electrical tape, left it on so head got good soak overnight. Like new!

OK, l8r! Hope that all are having a good MOANday!

Hmmm seems like some of my pics went AWOL. As in:

    KJ’s stash o’ knitting is better organized – Dorry-proofed!

And this one’s for MS! 😉

Good morning all. Today is not as hot temperature wise but the humidity is way up on yesterday. I’m not sure which is worst, straight out burning heat or a cooler day with high humidity. At least it is mildly cooler and the sun has made one brief appearance from behind the clouds only and it’s 11am. HRH was happy to feel the cooler temp but hasn’t bothered to eat again, still too hot for her.
KZ, well done on the PT,it is so heartening to hear how well you are doing and feeling. You will be throwing the cane away before you know it. 50F/10C so not too cold to be out doing your exercises at all and yes it must be bliss to be in the open air again breathing in lungs full of cool fresh air with the wonderful waft of farm on it. 🙂 Hope those staples can come out tomorrow.
My Mum is doing really well on rehab from her broken ankle, walking frame gone and she is getting around on one crutch and at times she is abandoning that quite happily. Physio is going really well for her too and she can even get outside to water the garden and hang out her washing.
    🙂
Yikes KJ, -13C temps still !
Oh my you had me looking up what a padded bile seat was until I realised it must be bike seat. My mind was thinking all sorts of odd things though. 😀 Hoping that gym fees don’t go up after renovation even though the $$$$ were donated. Great that you found the perfect locker for the reno period. No way are you riff raff dear girl. You are a class act.
😉 Great tips too, especially the vinegar one.
ROTFL @ the humidity pic. My hair might not frizz up like that but it certainly doesn’t like either heat or humidity and requires so much more washing and attention not made any easier by the fact my regular hairdresser is still out of action from an arm injury and the salon cut I got was not up to standard. My hair is getting longer and soon I will be able to clip it back off my neck in a claw clip and feel the breeze across my neck.

Tks MS, for compliment and for catching embarrassing typo. And I do this editing-related stuff for a living (sorta.) Had window of time to fix it. 😳

But here’s one that had me ROTFLMAO. On front pg of local newspaper. In report on court case journalist made ref to “Crown Prosecutor.” Only they omitted the “n”. “Crow Prosecutor.” 😉 I would write to the editor suggesting that they hire me, but it would prob get me nowhere.

Sorta sad how one is dependent on one’s stylist. I needed to “buy” an extra week what with too many dentist visits taking my time. So I used my razor comb and good scissors on sides and back, decent job if I say so myself. I know that your hair is way thicker than mine, but I get it purrfectly straight with a strong round brush, hot dryer (I use heat protector spray) and finish the fringe with skinny flat iron. But if you can tie hair back that’s a nice look too that solves prob. And you can use all sorts of clips and accessories!

My bangs/fringe now covers one eye, which is plan. Someone actually asked me how I plan to see out of that eye. 2 peeps were gobsmacked, one of them my stylist. Well, I explained slowly, I just flick the fringe aside. 🙄

No worries KJ, and as for typos we’re only human when when we check over what we have written. I love finding typos in the papers or the online versions. Some are hilarious while others can change the entire meaning of the sentence. 😯
    Bwahahahaha Crow Prosecutor !
Yes my hair is thick, so thick that hair clips just don’t stay in or do the job well enough for long enough. Now there is that interesting difference in language, we call it a fringe here and I hadn’t heard the description bangs until I was well into my teens. I must see what the origin of bangs is for a fringe. my fringe covers one eye too but makes my forehead way too hot so I am continually pushing it back too. A courier that came to deliver a package recently asked how I got my hair to sit like that as it takes her 30 mins, straightening iron and heaps of product to get the same effect. She was crushed when I said it just grew like that naturally. We always want what we don’t have or can’t get without a lot of effort.

MS, I would like naturally to have straight hair, but takes me little time to get same effect and it even looks OK if I dry naturally and use diffuser.

We use term “bangs” here, purrhaps refers to “hair banging against forehead?”

    Wrong: looked it up:
“The use of “bangs” (or “bang”) for that short fringe of hair originated in the US in the 19th century, according to the OED. But the usage has its roots in “bangtail,” an equine term seen on both sides of the Atlantic.” … “The word “bangtail” is defined in the OED as “a (horse’s) tail, of which the hair is allowed to grow to a considerable length and then cut horizontally across so as to form a flat even tassel-like end.”
    (Source:http://www.grammarphobia.com/blog/2011/04/bangs.html)

BTW they are not supposed to be raising gym rates. This gazillionaire donated enough for renos and to open an area for state-of-the-art small group training. I only spin, but other peeps are way happy. To get a gym/community ctr that’s been around in some form or another since my parents were kids named for him, must have been big $$$! That’s a lot of letter head to change! 😉 And they’re even sending members a little gift to than us for putting up with reno. Cohort suggests 2 free mos., I have feeling that it will be a key chain, fridge magnet, or would be neat to get certificate for one of the spa-like services!

The place wants to stay competitive is the thinking. I like nice things, but am not looking for a lady’s maid or plush robes. Just want the place to be clean, the bikes in working order, the instructors up to speed and more or less friendly cohorts (there’s always a few who are problematic, that’s everywhere.) I do spend about 2 hrs there 6/wk so in effect it is a “home away from home.”

    *skids into café*
Hi everyone – no hanky-panky going on with any of my kitties, including the JJ crew; they are all spayed/neutered.
The fans here are aimed to the So. Hem. in the hopes that a cool breeze eventually reaches you, MS. It is cold here, but not frigid, which I am okay with! Shadz must have a good place where she can hang out all day without getting overheated. I know, toward the end of the summer anything that doesn’t get water gets crispy awfully fast. It’s sad to see the lawn so dry, and even sadder to attempt to walk on it barefoot. My lawn is in hibernation mode, being sort of a brownish-green.
Great news on the progression of p/t, KZ. Your mild-ish weather is headed this way on Wednesday after a rainy day tomorrow. Snow possible on Thursday. Yep, must be February!
Hi KJ, nice score on the VIP treatment! Thanks for the misc tips. I give my showerhead a vinegar bath once in a while – makes a huge difference!

Well JJ, your post elicited an earworm for this purrson, and I couldn’t (didn’t) hold myself back. Never knew who sang it! Now my all-time fave song from this group is “Crimson and Clover” – the version done by another awesome JJ – Joan Jett! 🙂

Now I could be doing paid work, knitting, making noms for self – but TDK prevailed. Will start on last task as now!

Regarding the typo – my former boss looked for typos in my work, and made a huge deal of them; I was very careful to avoid making any so as not to get hassled by her. Since then, I’ve seen countless typos on board meeting agendas and minutes, as well as on the main page of the district website. (Public entities have to publish these things.) Guess there are peeps there just as, if not more, flawed than me.

    Hi Efurryone,

Wow-your progress is wonderful KZ. I’m proud of you.

I love the kitten yelling at me and I promiz not to break ur heart! The humidity pic is hilarious and that expression. 😆

I went to Oral Surgery and had a fibroma removed from my inner cheek. I wasn’t going to bother with it but it was right by my lower lip and I kept biting it so my Dentist recommended removal. No pain until the numb wore off by I have vicodin.

LilBit has “new” paper bag and Miss Gaea was trying to get in it.

    That’s all

I checked that out, KJ, and wouldn’t have recognized the new name of your fitness centre!

Yes, if he wants his name on stuff, he should simply give the stuff to the community.

I so miss cycling; I tried this weekend but there was too much ice at the side of the streets that I wound up just pushing my bicycle to my destinations, though the pannier bags were handy for hauling cat litter.

Although it is early, I’m toddling off to bed soon as I’m shivering, though my heat is at 20c and seems to be functioning properly. I’m turning it down and turning in, in my warm little bed with a cat-shaped heater and purr device.

    Haaaay all, I’m baaaack! Lol
Had a great weekend with Dau in Delli, but truth be told, I’m glad to be back to my warm/humid climate. …. my skin, hair went bonkers up there lol!
Not fun to come home to yet another HIP project of Mr. AV’S, but when this is done, he’s promised a long layover …. secretly, I will buy him a small ‘project’ property before I go back into another makeover …..

Apparently whilst I was gone, Miss Caddy has befriended a young grey kitty, whom to my surprise was in the shed eating with Caddy when I opened the door today! MR. AV said she appeared a few days ago, and the two have been seen running together ….. I’m glad she has a bud! Have a great evening all!

Goodness PG! Vicodin – that’s like for srs pain – please don’t try to tough it out (as I would stupidly do) if you need the stuff take it (I also got this msg loud and clear at one pt.) But your dentist IMHO is right if the thing was getting irritated best to have it out. My dental appt for (I hope) final filling for as tomorrow is a breeze compared to your procedure.

JJ, you are most certainly not flawed – please don’t even refer to yourself in by this term what I assume is jest. Someone who makes a huge deal about a typo – unless it changes the context in srsly negative way – is def flawed. On so many levels.

AV, glad that you had a nice visit! So in keeping with today’s theme (actually one of this month’s themes) Miss Caddy is having an affair of sorts. Interesting! 🙂

Lagatta, absolutely no one refers to my gym as anything but the “Y”, if asked, differentiating it from the “YMCA” (oh no, not another earworm!) And the place is open to peeps of every race, religion, etc., and has various programs ie special needs classes for fitness, swimming an ‘puters, fitness classes designed specifically for teen-age girls, IMHO great to get this age group doing fitness without all the body image c**p thrown in. Hey, if a mega-rich guy wants to donate a huge amount to upgrade the place in exchange for his name on the bldg and srs PR, for sure I’m the last one to complain.

Yes I studied at Université de Montréal for at least 8 years (much of them part-time while working, except for the thesis year when I had a scholarship). And had healthcare professionals in your nabe nearby, so of course I’m familiar with it, but not saying more. Yes, your Y is welcoming to people of all faiths and backgrounds. But then, so is the one on Parc closer to my place. Most people are decent, and the Museum of Jewish Montreal held an event that involved good food and music that was also a fundraiser for the families of the people murdered at a mosque in Québec City, by one of those supremacist losers who hate everyone and mostly themselves.

    There are NO self-hating cats…

Eyes tired from correcting stuff on a split screen…
