Thanks AV- sounds good. I think May Day is a bit like that here.
Wish we had the leash law. It is about responsibility. I love dogs but I would rather have them under control at all times. Lots of children play in the field behind our house- not just dangerous for kitties. My Louis cat is asleep on the landing- he looks ok. I think he has already started tidying himself up a bit. Cats are so practical.

Thanks Buttons. My boys (grown up) went outside to get Louis (on account of me being icky) and they said she had 4 dogs- all off the lead. Three were listening to her and the 4th wasn’t. She said something to Vin about not wanting to have the dog in the first place, so there is probably a story there. She did give us her address- she was very upset. We don’t have leash laws here- we are behind you with that. I am sure it will happen in time.
Since Louis is walking fine and eating and is calm now, I will check him out in the morning and see if he needs the vet. Vin thought one of his legs might have been bitten, so he will probably need antibiotics. I can’t see anything major. What a day!
I am going to draw a line under this one and go to sleep!
All cats and children safely home…….

Judith, hope that your stomach ills abate.
Labour Day is probably sort of like a Bank Holiday, no special celebrations, just places closed. I believe that May Day is more of a political workers unite sort of deal, plus an ancient Spring Festival. Same thing in Canada/US, except we also use British spelling, except when we don’t. I’m a copywriter and often have to ask client if they want British or American spelling. LOL.

Mac showed up, yay! Seemed to coincide with the sun coming out, hmmm.
Chicken and dumplings sounds wonderful! After sloppy joes at AV’s, I’ll be coming thru the wormhole!
Hi Judith – glad Louis has settled down and hope he is okay. Would be nice not to have to go to the vet. We have leash laws here but several years ago neighbor’s dog chased Jiggs up an icy tree. Somehow he hurt himself, so that was a trip to the vet.
Well, I’m thinking of getting my act together for the week, but not much motivation. My second wind should arrive about an hour before bedtime.

Yay Mac came back for dinner πŸ™‚

Well looks like poor Miss Nutini will need a vet visit in the next week or two… I used to brush Buttons teeth and they were in very good condition but because I couldn’t get that close to Nutini I wouldn’t have ever had a chance to get a good look at her teeth..

Well I managed to look this evening and they aren’t good πŸ™ an awful lot of tartar build up.. Mostly around her back teeth but there’s so much you can’t see the natural form of her teeth any more.. Yikes!!!! Her front incisors are good just the back gnawing molar teeth…

I’ll get a quote for teeth cleaning tomorrow from my vet and start saving and hope to have her gone in within two weeks.. It doesn’t seem to be bothering her but surely it will only be a matter of time before it effects her gums .. I’ll definitely be adding raw chicken wings to her diet ( and Noodles diet) at least once a week from now to help keep the tartar at bay in the future

Mac should have that broken tooth extracted – I was thinking winter when I can get him in and keep him in.

Awwww poor Mac with a broken tooth. πŸ™ Poor Nutini too. I had Perry’s teeth cleaned twice I think? Chad here has lost all or most of his teeth except one long front one. Perry got in a fight with him once and took one out. Gavin has some teeth left…had 9 taken out a few years ago. Has a couple long front ones I think. Funny, I can’t remember now.
I saw a beautiful young buck with lovely antlers tonight walk across the yard and also a doe. Both were terribly bothered by flies/bugs.. I felt so sorry for them. πŸ™ Couldn’t even eat in peace…… Awww…. I have only been seeing the female hummer on the feeder so I guess SHE WON! YAY! The moon is lovely again. I always think of you Joan when I see the moon!
Joan, does school start there tomorrow? Some schools here do, and others started last week already.
SO funny… earlier dau IMs me for the peach cake recipe I used to make her. Says she is craving it and wants to run out to get the ingredients right away. So, I had to search through my thick notebook I made, to look for it. Found it quickly thank goodness. I guess the pumpkin recipe we saw on FB today reminded her of it. πŸ™‚

Good afternoon all, loving the pics today especially the first one. I could quite happily stretch out and relax.
Spent the morning hoeing and weeding Mum’s vegetable garden in preparation for Spring sowing in the next few weeks. My brother and I also made trellis for her peas and cucumbers. I had a chat with her cat Snuggy telling her to come out into the garden with us but she preferred to stay inside and just lay about. She must have heard that the TDK kitties were celebrating Labour Day and figured she would too. We have our Labour Day on 27th October. Judith I am guessing you are from Canada if you spell labour with a ‘u’ as do I.
    Love the lynx vid.
    Yay Mac reappeared.
AV you must be pleased your work is done.
KZ, I hope the cookout went well.

The vet thinks Mac has a deformed jaw so possibly the tooth grew funny. Then caught on something and broke. Possibility of abuse or accident, but he has no scars.
How cool to see a beautiful buck and his mate; they do tend to get bothered by fleas and ticks and flies.
The moon is indeed beautiful, looking at it right now!
Some schools start tomorrow, some have staff reporting for mandatory annual training and in service workshops. All will be in full swing by next week; some start out with a half day (dunno why).
Peach cake sounds yummy. I bought some strawberries and cherries. Have to admit, the only way I can eat the strawberries is with chocolate spread? Hey, I’m still getting my serving of fruit!

ECB and Joan, some cracker mac coming through the wormhole to share… πŸ™‚ that was probably the best I’ve made in a long time too! Cheesy, but not too, with colby and jack cheeses. The girls were so excited when they saw it I laughed, then they thought I was taking the leftovers home, but I left it in their fridge, LOL, just taking the leftover salad home.
Buttons, is it safe to give cats chicken wings? I would love to do it but want to make sure before I do that I’m not doing anything that could tear their insides up. I’m sure my cats would LOVE chicken wings….I know I do, but cooked of course..LOL!
I’m so glad that Mac came back Joan….you know I believe he thinks of you as HOME…..home is where your crunchies are….. πŸ˜‰
Judith, the jack russell is in dire need of some obedience training, well maybe his owner is since a leash would have prevented the whole thing. Scary stuff and Louis is very lucky I think, poor thing.

Hi MS – Snuggy seems to be quite in tune with TDK! Good to get a head start in your mum’s garden. My little spot where I have planted peas in the past was covered with snow on a March 17th, the date dad always planted his peas. I never got off the ground with cleanup, so the only thing garden-wise that came up was rhubarb in another section of the yard.
KZ, thank you for the cracker Mac! (Notice my phone spellcheck capitalizes Mac!) great that the girls were pleasantly surprised that it was left in the fridge instead if the salad!
I was do happy to see Mac! I would have been beyond concerned if he didn’t show by dinner time, for I too believe he has found his home, even if it is outside my back door.
Just about time for me to try to get some rest – long week ahead. If I’m not around during the day, I’ll stop by later in the afternoon. Have a great one, litter mates!

    Hi MS,
Saying good afternoon before I say goodnight LOL! Actually Judith could be from Canada or the UK. As per all the countries distantly ruled or locally ruled or at one time having been ruled by the British Empire, we add the extra “u” in certain words, also theatre as opposed to theater. Gets confusing at times. Back in my corporate work days we standardized to American spelling. Now why is the spelling different anyway? If I go against my better judgement I will spend the next hour researching subject. Will head off to bed instead as query can wait until tomorrow LOL.

    Sweet dreams Joan and KJ.
Just had a good heavy shower of rain here which chased HRH inside so I have been entertaining her for a while. She just got a little boisterous playing and accidentally scratched me, no blood though. She knew is was naughty and has run off for a snack and has now headed upstairs to bed. Guess I will see her mid evening for dinner and a run outside before she comes in for the night.
Joan, for some reason my rhubarb has died right back at the moment, I hope it comes back up. My seedling tomatoes now have their first real leaves and in a little more time I can transplant them into bigger temporary pots. I am resisting putting anything in the garden as our Spring is usually quite unpredictable weatherwise and can catch out the early planter. Oh more rain falling now and noooooooooooooooooooooo ! ! ! I just remembered I have washing on the line.

Just woke to the sound if a fox crying out πŸ™‚ dogs all go crazy when they hear one..

Eyes can’t focus great must sleep , yawn!!

Oh KZ yes it’s safe to give a cat a RAW chicken wing I wouldn’t give any other part of the chicken with bone in it.. The wing has kinda small bones and once the bone is raw it doesn’t splinter like cooked bones it more goes to a mush.. Just think of it as if they are eating a mouse bones and all πŸ™‚ just never give any kind of cooked bone ..
It could have been someone here that suggested it to me I think as a kind of natural tooth brush πŸ™‚

Finally fell asleep and then woke up because of some weird dream. Oh well it’s my Thursday tonight and I have to work the same position tonight for the third night in a row which will be tiring. At least my car is clean thanks to a local neighbourhood carwash giving everyone the code for a deluxe wash today until midnight, so I got up and went down….twenty minutes wait and wa la my car wasn’t crying anymore πŸ™‚

Joan, hugs for both you and Mac. Red only has his little four teeth in the front left, had all of his pulled when he moved into the house a few years ago and he is so much better for it.

Kittyzee, believe that as long as the chicken wings aren’t cooked they are fine for kitties, wish I could get mine to eat them.

Couponing4you with Brenda Handlovits and 19 others
    Easy Crock Pot Potato Soup

    Ingredients:
1 30oz. bag of frozen diced hash browns
1 32 oz box of chicken broth
1 can of cream of chicken soup (10 oz)
1 pkg. cream cheese (8 oz, not fat free)
    3 oz bacon bits
    1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    salt and pepper to taste

    Directions:
Put the potatoes in the crockpot. Add in the chicken broth, cream of chicken soup and half of the bacon bits. Add a pinch of salt and pepper.
Cook on low for 8 hours or until potatoes are tender.
An hour before serving, cut the cream cheese into small cubes. Place the cubes in the crock pot. Mix a few times throughout the hour before serving.
Once the cream cheese is completely mixed in, it’s ready to serve.
Top with cheddar cheese and some additional bacon bits.
