Gosh, that sounds so good! But a cake in a crock-pot…. have you ever tried doing that?

I normally make soup, stew, roast in mine–but am willing to give it a go! Now you know what I am doing this weekend!

My crockpot cookbook has instructions for making ‘real’ cakes in a crockpot, with a trivet and a special insert and stuff that I don’t have. It also has recipes for what they call a “pudding cake”, which I think this is. I have made them a couple times- desserts that separate into a cake-like base and then a sauce portion over the top. The one I make is nice, moist and fudgy.

Ya know what? I think I can make this! I too have only used my crockpot for stews and soups, but this looks awesome. Added this to my favorites! Thanks SM!

My supervisor makes cakes in the crockpot all the time and he says that they turn out great.

Hey that is a yummy recipe and a cool idea of making it into a gift kit.

I’ve added this idea to the gift kit thread.

Did Crockey assist you with this JK ? A treasure trove of great recipes. These would make very creative gift kits for anytime of year, and great hostess gift kits.
