Mili is relentless !

First, it’s going to a new person (my son) without fear. Now, she is going upstairs without fear! Last night I spent a good hour on the couch with her, all curled up either on me or next to me. I had to leave for class and when I got home late, I went straight upstairs. I was in bed, lights out at 11:30. Was have trouble sleeping… and Chloe was doing her low growl so I knew Mili was somewhere close. I was petting and stroking Chloe when she didn’t growl, and would just rest my hand on her … just staying in touch. Next thing I know there is a paw on my shoulder ! Mili snuck up on both of us, and was sitting by my head.

They have a bit of a scuffle, hiss and paws flapping… I could only hear this and fortunately it was down by my feet ! Chloe starting in on her cleaning of herself and settled nicely on my right side, within arms reach. Mili snuck back up on the bed and curled close to my left side, leaning, touching.. and stayed there all night !

I didn’t sleep well.. half anticipating more growling and such. But I think they did!

There was another chase/hiss/attack this morning.. but it was short. When I left for work this morning, Mili was on the landing on her way up stairs. She is DETERMINED to make Chloe her friend.

You all said “give it time”…. well, perhaps it’s working… Oh, I have been using Feliway type of spray when I leave the house in the morning (oops, forgot today!) — maybe that is helping too?!?!

I agree 2P sounds like they are gonna be friends eventually–whether Chloe likes it or not!

Awwww, I’m so glad to hear that, 2P!

Mi and Bobsky were naughty last night and I had to confine Milo to the bathroom. This morning they were chasing eachother and knocked over my big stand-up floor fan. Most of the time they are great together, though.

Sounds like things are progressing nicely. Nibs and Nora always sleep on opposite sides of the bed. There are a few skirmishes here and there but for the most part they live together peacefully.

2P, I’m so glad to hear of the progress! It sounds as if Mili’s just not going to accept “no” as an answer!! I know Chloe’s not terribly happy with the situation, but she may be learning to accept that 1) Mili’s not going away, and 2) Mili’s not hurting her, and isn’t going to hurt her.

The Feliway can’t be hurting, but it’s hard to say how much it’s helping. I’d continue using it until you run out, and then see if lack of it really makes any difference over the day or so following.

I’m so excited!!

2P..haha! Your scenario of last night’s tussel on the bed is an exact description of my Tuffy/Oreo episode last night. Some days they just aren’t in the mood for one another. I can never predict but most times they’re great together. go figure…

Thanks all. anncetera2 – I’m excited too. I really think Mili wants to ‘snuggle’ with Chloe. She was standing on me last night, just looking at Chloe. Chloe growls… Mili mews. I think you’re right… Chloe may be learning to accept the situation. She gets treats and love just as before, well maybe a little more than before. 🙂

I’ll keep you all posted 🙂

That is really great news, 2P! Mili seems to be determined that she be able to snuggle with you where ever you are and not to be detered by Chloe. I hope in due time that Chloe will learn to accept her. Mili sounds so cute by the way. I love a kitty that likes to snuggle on the bed. Mia sleeps by my hip or arm and Sylvester sleeps against one of my legs. They both must be touching although as the weather turns warmer, they won’t be touching me as we seem to warm each other up quite well.

2P, I bet Mili’s a trifle confused by Chloe. She’s never encountered a kitty who’s been so persistently unhappy with her. To Mili, other cats should be like her littermates – partners for playing, snuggling, grooming, and so forth. Buddies! And Chloe’s not cooperating, at least not yet.

The good news is that Mili may be more stubborn than Chloe. It may be that one cat sleeps on one side, the other on the other side, for quite a while, or perhaps forever. But at least Chloe didn’t chase her off the bed – or at least not for long!

Never gave that a thought Ann…. she probably is confused! She is still skittsh… the sound of the toaster got her this morning… poor baby. LOL Things are definitely looking up though.
