The funeral was lovely. The ladies from the church made enough food for 3 times the family that was there. My cousin made a wonderful slide show. The honor guard was amazing and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when they finished.

After the funeral, we all congregated at my aunt’s house. We ate and laughed and made promises to stay in touch. It was nice.

My company sent me the biggest peace lily I’ve ever seen. I don’t know where I’m going to put it, but it’s lovely.

I’m still sad and I’m going to miss him terribly, but I finally feel like life is moving on. We laughed more than we cried and I suspect that will continue

I’m glad that your family has so many good memories. Your grandfather will certainly live on – I’m sure he will be the topic of many family stories for years to come! It sounds like you are all doing pretty well. I continue to keep you in my prayers.

P.S. The church ladies always make tons of food, don’t they?

I remember how the laughter came back a little bit each day. When my father died, I wondered how I would ever laugh again. And the world seemed so gray. But little by little the color returned, and along with it a little more lightness of heart than the day before.

There are so many things to say at a time like this, but the best thing of all, is being able to say…..we are here.

MM, my mom always said that when she went she didn’t want a graveside service. She wanted all her friends to gather at a local watering hole, eat Cuban hoagies and share their favorite dirty jokes. I think it’s wonderful to know someone who can pass with such grace. You are in my thoughts, little one.

    Aaaawwww,MM!!

It’s so heartwarming to hear he had such a right, proper and beautiful send-off like that.’Tis never easy to emotionally prepare for something as such, but then it wouldn’t be as meaningful if we could, now would it?? YOU,Jennifer, sound as though you’re doing your GrandDad right proud with the way you’re carrying yourself.May God continue to Bless you and yours,my friend!
